This place is freaking AWESOME! Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing, the lunch sandwiches are even better and HOLYCRAP, their bakery is crazy good! I just had a cranberry oatmeal cookie — well my daughter did and I ended up eating most of it — and it navy very well be the best cookie I’ve ever eaten. Do not leave here without one or two or three! I will say the lemon poppyseed strawberry bread was just ok — but the blueberry maple bread last week was on point!

Recently moved to the area and decided to stop in during the week for lunch with my 3 yr old and pick up something to go. First impression was great! Very quaint little spot, cute outdoor seating and wonderful baked goods smells coming from the kitchen. Stood in line which wasn’t too long and I decided on the torte and a kids turkey and cheese with juice box. Noticed the torte was already made which gave me the impression that my wait would be minimal. This was a good thing since I have a very impatient 3 yr old and I’m also pregnant which means I’m starving for 2. Unfortunately my assumption would be completely wrong and we waited for almost an HOUR for someone to just make him a very simple turkey and cheese and heat up the torte that was already made. At this point my son was crawling on tables, playing drums with the salt and pepper shaker and I was about to pass out. Not one employee acknowledged my presence and I was clearly standing there, waiting, very pregnant… You really couldn’t miss me. I had to go up to the counter not once but twice to find out the status of this order which I now regretted waiting for. As I’m fighting back the tears and the urge to just walk out, my name is FINALLY called and I was handed a thin brown paper bag with a very flat turkey and cheese… but no torte. Someone from the kitchen came out and apologized but also mentioned they were dealing with the lunch rush and they were extra busy. Really??? You can’t make excuses, especially one as lame as that. I get that you’re busy but you should know how to handle it. They obviously didn’t. Won’t be returning simply because the food wasn’t worth the hassle. Mediocre to say the least and I frequent establishments that actually care about their customers… Would have loved to be a regular there.

This café is worth the 45 minute drive! One of my favorite off the beaten road places to go. Delicious pesto, egg croissant, friendly & down-home atmosphere, and then the desserts… Definitely a must visit!

We had lunch there yesterday. The soup was luke warm and not good… how hard is it to serve hot, good soup? A can of Progresso tastes better. The grilled sandwich was below average. The worse part was the bill …$ 61 for four soup and sandwiches and drinks. We won’t be back.

On our drive from Austin to Fredericksburg we stopped into this place on the side of the road for coffee. I have seen the sign many times and always thought it was cute. WOW! did I underestimate this place! The people who live in this area are SO lucky! They had a really cute patio area where people were sitting enjoying their breakfast. We went inside what was a remodeled house that was so quaint! Walked in to order our drinks and OHMY! those pastries hit us in the face! We HAD to get an apple turnover even though we were on our way to hike Enchanted Rock! They serve an organic coffee which was very yummy, and the BF got a latte which he really enjoyed as well. i would really like to try their food another time and maybe take home a dessert as well! Nice ladies and nice small town vibe! What a hidden treasure!

Super adorable little place to grab lunch. Tons of seating indoors and outdoors. The food is delicious! We had the meatball sandwich, Texas 2-step chicken sandwich, and their strawberry/mango tres leches. SO good! If you’re in Dripping Springs, you can’t miss going to this place. There’s also a bookshelf in the back towards the restrooms where they keep lots of things to keep your kids entertained during the meal.

Really excellent food, great ambience, live americana style music, really nice place. I had the mussels and they were awesome. My wife had the quiche which she reported was also awesome. Really impressed overall.

My fiancé and I tried this place based on the many positive reviews. We ordered the turkey & thyme and the Texas 2step. I couldn’t tell you whether the food is good or it isn’t. We have been here for an hour and do not have it yet. I mean, what is a reasonable amount of time to wait for two sandwiches? Update: At 65 minutes waiting, the order arrives. The order is incomplete. We have it packed to go. The waitress is nonplussed. Nice.

Our rehearsal dinner was recently catered by Thyme and Dough and we could not have been more pleased! The food was delicious and fresh! We chose two Italian options, salad, bread, and flavored tea. Everything was beyond yummy! The communication was awesome and Tiffany was amazing to work with(: Our friends went here to breakfast and brunch throughout the weekend celebration and also had great things to say about the food and atmosphere! Thank you guys for everything!

Another wonderful unique restaurant in Dripping, no repeateries please! Love this place for a healthy salad or sandwich or a totally indulgent delicious cookie. It is lovely to sit outside on their relaxed patio and enjoy a cup of chai or espresso, even hang out with your dog. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. They are open on Thursday evening for dinner. My husband loved his pork chop and I enjoyed some fine vegetarian Indian cuisine.

4.5 stars. Sitting just outside Austin in Dripping Springs, you can pop in here on your way to winery tours, hiking at Pedernales Falls, or just for a fun food trip from Downtown. Upon arrival you’re greeted by this big patio with sun shades in different fabric colors hung across the yard. It’s feels like you’re walking into your aunt’s kitchen to get some down to earth home good cooking. And good cooking it is, in fact it’s great! The vibe is casual and artsy, different art adorns the walls in the rooms, and there is an abundance of baked goods that you’ll want to try.

This is a charming café with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can order food and/or espresso drinks, and if you are in a hurry and can’t tolerate the line(which there is often a very long one) you can buy your coffee with cash on the honor system. Today for lunch I had a ½ sandwich and cup of soup combo. For my sandwich I chose«Fruit and Chicken Tango» on seven grain bread. «Fruit and Chicken Tango» is a chicken salad with mango, apples, pecan, cilantro, mustard and mayo. I got my sandwich grilled with created a toasty crunch on the bread. I really enjoyed the flavor of the chicken salad as well. The soup today was Spicy Black Bean fiesta. This was a brothy vegetable soup with a nice amount of heat without being too spicy. Food came out promptly. Since the restaurant is counter service we never had any service contact other than ordering and when our food was delivered. My only complaint with this place is that it is too popular, and it can be hard to find a place to sit.

Picking between three and four stars for Rolling In Thyme & Dough was a tough choice, but I’m going to go with three. I too,(as other Unilocalers have stated) have seen this place while headed through Dripping Springs towards Fredricksburg and Johnson City and always though it looked like a super neat little place to stop. I even scouted it out on Unilocal and saw that it had good reviews. And all of the reviews are true — it’s cute, it’s quaint, it has a lovely garden, extra parking in the back, art for sale all over and fantastically delish salads, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and coffee. So what happened to those last two stars? Unfortunately my Mom and I came in after visiting the Vintage Market Days this last Friday. Friday, I know, during the week — it was around 1pm so the lunch crowd should have died out. Apparently everyone had the same idea that we did, though. After the market, hit up Thyme & Dough. There was a line from the counter to the door — they were slammed. How bad could it be? We thought to ourselves. The line moved at a moderate to slow pace and the cashiers kept up for the most part. The price for that though, was once you got up there, they were a little short and everything was hurried. While the line was a little shortened after our lunch, my Mom actually went back up to grab some cookies to go and by then the whole ordering process — just for pastries was curt. For our lunches, I had the Combination Salad with Tuna — it was more than amazing. Fresh lettuces, fresh diced apples, an amply large scoop of tuna salad in the middle, slices of provolone, and balsamic on the side. Loved it. My Mom had the Turkey in Thyme sandwich on Gluten Free bread,(thank you for having GF bread — and it was good, unlike others!) and loved her sandwich as well. We both also got the Hibiscus Tea and for some reason it was horribly bitter — not great. The biggest issue I had here was that we waited for a VERY long time for our food. When we sat down with our letter on a stick,(their table marking mechanism) we saw tons of people sitting with no food. I think we waited around a half hour. Food was rolling out, but they were very obviously behind. So you see, I’m very split. There are so many obviously fantastic things that are going on here, and I get that they were super slammed. I think this craft fair like happens all summer though, I think this was their last hurrah of the season so I’m sort of baffled as to why this place seemed unprepared. Anyways, a very, very solid three star rating here. I’d come back in a heartbeat, maybe on a quieter day.

Stopped in for brunch at Thyme and Dough, the line was fairly long and the prices were a little high. However the sandwich unordered was packed with flavor and quality ingredients. For the occasional meal I think this place is great! Haven’t tried any of their specialty drinks or bakery items, but they looked/sounded pretty awesome

Completely charming Hill Country restaurant with amazing and quirky outdoor seating and delicious, yet simple food! Thyme & Dough’s outside seating is varied — with antique tables of different sizes and shapes — some covered and some not! Cute indoor seating as well! The menu has a variety of café fare — sandwiches, torts, pastries, baked goods, salads and other daily specials(veggie lasagna on Tuesday/Thursday, veggie pizza on Wednesday and Friday, and a chicken sandwich on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday)! They have a cute garden around the back of the restaurant — it’s basically an adorable place to grab a bite! Vegetarian and vegan options galore! Try it out!

Great food with a wonderful atmosphere & outstanding customer service. Probably the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. We didn’t have any baked goods but they looked fabulous as well. We will definitely visit this place again when we are in town.

On my way back from a hike to Austin, I heard about this place and checked it out. Wow! Great food! Anticipate a massive, fresh sandwich. There is a wide variety on the menu(meat and veggie friendly) along with dozens of desserts. I can recommend the tango chicken, which was utterly amazing. I cannot stress this enough. The restaurant is so cool based on its design. There is plenty of outdoor seating, and several different types of chairs. It’s a great atmosphere and the type of place you’ll want to relax and hang out. A long lunch here is welcomed. Driving by, it might not look like too much. Just a spot by the highway, but Rolling in Thyme and Dough will not let you down. Incredible. Keep an eye open as you drive, so you don’t miss it. Ultimately, I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular here.
