I moved to the Austin area in June 2007 and it wasn’t until March 2009 that I first needed the services of a body shop. In March 2009 my Saab was at the local Saab dealership getting serviced when a big hail storm hit and severely damaged a lot of cars including mine. I was worried about the extent of the damage and how efficaciously it could be repaired. I found Sterling not too far from my home and decided to pay them a visit. They restored my severely damaged car to «like new» condition, including a new skin for the roof. I am a very detail oriented «car guy» and the repair was amazing. I found a few minuscule imperfections in the paint, which they promptly took care of.
Since then, I have used Sterling exclusively as my body shop. I have three cars in my stable. A 2011 BMW 335D, 2011 BMW 335i, and 2003 Audi RS6. Over the last three years these three cars have been repaired for minor to moderate damage at Sterling. Keep in mind that I usually have all damage repaired, even small stuff.
In June 2013 my newly acquired 2003 Audi RS6 (one-​of 860 imported to the U.S.) was backed into in a coffee house parking lot. The damage was not immense, but I was devastated. The trunk was crooked and slightly dented. It as clear that there was structural damage to the trunk and hinges, not just a dent. Joey and Josh worked with me patiently sorting out all my options and helped me deal with the other driver’s insurance company. In the end I got all new OEM parts including bumper cover, trunk, hinges. Josh was very patient and helpful making sure that the adjustment on the trunk resulted in the trunk closing as near to perfect as possible. This required multiple visits on my part for him to tweak the adjustments as the metal settled in. To this day I am actually thankful that the other driver hit my car because the quality of the repair including the paint left my car literally better than new! A friend of a friend who works at another high end body shop looked at my car, and said he could not see any evidence of the repair. The quality of the painting, blending, color sanding and the time they take to paint all panels without any edges visible is second to none.
If you are OCD about cars like me, and expect as near to perfection as possible, then go to Sterling Collisions & Customs. If you don’t obsess over detailed high quality auto body repairs like I do, then you should still go to Sterling because that’s what you’re going to get anyways!

If you want to get the best service and support a small business owner, This is your place. They made getting my car fixed as smooth as process as it could be! After I did my part of communicating with my insurance, they were always keeping me and my agent in the loop as to what was going on.
Oh did I mention how amazing my car looks? I think they specialize in BMW’s but my Honda came out looking amazing! I live in Austin but I will make the trip out here any time!

I’d always heard good things about these guys, and yes, they do great work. But the office help could sure use some improvement. I thought about this for a long time but finally decided to say something here.
Several months ago I went in here to get a small dent on my Audi fixed. The receptionist with the multi-​colored hair was being very rude to someone on the phone while I was waiting in the office for service. Then after she slammed the phone down she ignored me for a long time. I finally just walked out of th e office and took my business elsewhere. I understand how some people have bad days but I feel like her attitude needs much improvement. I will. never go back here.

Just got my 2010 BMW 335i back (LeMans Blue). Took it in a few weeks ago with damage to driver side (small crease/​dent and paint transfer caused by some guy side swiping me). While it was in had them also take care of lot’s of road rash and a few grocery shopping cart dings.
I’m very happy with the quality of the work, everything looks good as new. Joey explained all the nitty gritty to me and was very nice to deal with. Overall I would recommend them to everyone, even a serious car enthusiast who treats their car like part of the family (your baby).

This was my first time with Sterling, used others in the past that were insurance preferred shops. I was never happy with any work done on any of my cars in the past. This time i dealt with a very poor insurance company called Western General. Sterling and myself had to go round and round with them to get the work done properly. April and Joey took care of everything from the rental pickup to dealing with the insurance company to get the proper parts to fix my vehicle right. I have never been more satisfied with an auto body shop.
The service doesn’t stop after you pick up your car either, they want you to return in two months to make sure everything is good with the repair.
Needless to say i will never use another shop in this area again.

Having just talked up Jeff’s Auto Collision, it seems strange that I would be writing a review for a competing body shop.
That said, while Jeff’s gets the majority of my work and the majority of my recommendations, there’s only one shop I will take my Porsche to, and that is this one. If you need custom work or something very unusual (like a helicopter), this is your place.
My only real complaint is that it is way out in the middle of nowhere, so getting a vehicle down there and back can be challenging.

I had a great experience with the team at Sterling, and didn’t feel like another number like some other places i’ve been. paper plates still on my new car and bam! some crazy lady runs into the back of me. they made sure all the parts that were damaged were replaced with NEW parts, helped with the rental process, took the time to explain to me and made me feel comfortable thay would do it the RIGHT way!
I was thoroughly impressed with job they did! The paint was like glass and all the molding fit perfect!
I am vey picky when it comes to getting any of my babies repaired, but I can assure you next time I need any bodywork done, I will be bring it to Sterling!

These guys are the only place to take a BMW for body work. I have taken 2 different cars here, both times for work covered by insurance (once mine, once the insurance of the guy who rear-​ended me). Both times, they have fought with the insurance companies to make sure my cars were fixed right and with new parts (not the crappy reconditioned ones the insurance companies try to foist on you to boost their margins). They seem to take real pride in their work, very friendly and have you bring your car back to them after 30 days to make sure everything is right, including the paint matching. It does seem to take a long time, but I’d rather that than a rush-​job.

Probably the best repair shop in Central Texas. Paint work is perfect, reassembly could stand the slightest improvement, and you should expect a minimum of a month to six weeks for anything major, but overall probably the best, hence the 5 star rating. Initially recommended by a mechanic at the Porsche dealership as the best shop, I’ve had 2 cars there myself, one for a hail storm and one for vandalism. Both came back perfect. Have recommended quite a few friends (shouldn’t they be giving me a call for free body work) lol, and they seem to have always done a perfect job for them as well. By the way, they had a cool website, but current one isn’t that great. ?? Oh, and you better have insurance, cause if you don’t, swing low, sweet chariot, your bank account will suffer greatly for your chariot to be perfect again.

After two month of working on our BMW, Sterling final called up to have us pick up our car. The Paint did not even come close to matching. They blamed it on the insurance company, but this is BS. I ask them why then did not contact us about the color match, basically they said it looked OK inside. Stay Away.
