Big D’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice is located on Main Street in Driver, Va. We specialize in serving shaved ice: «Hawaiian Style» snow cones.

We start by adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the cup, and then place a heaping portion of very fine shaved ice on top. This extremely fine texture allows the flavorful syrup to be absorbed by the snow rather than dripping off of ice chunks and collecting at the bottom of the cup. An optional snow cap topping can then be added. Once you have eaten your way through the snow cap and tasty flavored snow, you reach the ultimate end treat of the ice cream, enhanced by the flavors from the cone.

Up to three different flavors may be added to the snow cone, which then may be topped with sweetened condensed milk or marshmallow. There are thousands of combinations that can be made from the 25 flavors!

History

Established in 2013.

This is a small family owned business. We lived in Hawaii for 16 years and loved our Shave Ice! We decided to bring this delightful treat to the Hampton Roads area. Many places serve Shaved Ice… but not in the traditional Hawaiian Style!
