Northern California headquarters for Japan Karate-do Hayashi-ha Shitoryu Kai. Chief Instructor, Carl Hultin is the Vice President of the USA organization and a 7th degree black belt.
We have been teaching traditional Japanese/Okinawa Karate-do to children and adults. We specialize in Okinawa weapons training for all ages.
We have a serious approach to martial arts for the whole family.
History
Established in 1980.
We opened our karate school to continue our martial arts training under Grand Master Teruo Hayashi (Osaka, Japan). We teach traditional karate-do with and emphasis on the mental and physical development of the student.
The AABBA karate programs also include the San Ramon recreation department and public schools enrichment classes for children.
We have been a member of the USA National Karate Federation, member of the US Olympic Committee since 1984. Shihan Carl Hultin has been a World Karate Federation official since 1984.
In 1986 we established the non-profit 501c3 corporation (United Karate Federation of CA) to give special beginner karate classes to Dublin elementary school children. In addition, we sponsor athletes to participate in regional and national karate competition.

Shihan Hultin moved to the Bay Area in 1979 as a corporate buisness manager. After establishing his karate school in 1980 he left the corporate world to focus on developing a strong traditional Japanese Karate-do program in the Tri-Valley area.
Shihan began his martial arts training in 1966 in Philadelphia, PA at the Japan Karate Association/Shotokan karate dojo. He continued his training after moving to San Diego, CA in 1969, and has been in the Japan based Hayashi-ha Shitoryu karate organization ever since.
His interest in martial arts has taken him all over the world as WKF offical at international karate championships.
He has trained many national karate champions from his dojo.
In 2000 Shihan was certified as a licensed massage therapist.
In 2002 he was certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Associtation as a certified personal trainer.
Shihan Hultin brings a holistic approach to traditional karate-do.
