My husband and I found Elegant Door and Window in Google maps while in the area shopping for a new door. It was New Years Eve and the shop was closed early for the holiday. We decided to peek through the windows to check out the door displays and Matt (the owner) saw us and opened up shop. He was SUPER helpful and knowledgable about door styles and materials. We ended up being there about 45 minutes getting advice from him for our front door project. We ended up coming back a week later to place an order on a beautiful, custom fiberglass door from GlassCraft Door Company. Matt helped me with every aspect of the order and was very patient with me while I changed my mind on the door color (three times)! The door arrived in two weeks (WAY shorter than the estimated 6 – 8 week delivery they anticipated). Mary (Matt’s wife) called with install dates and a week later they came to the house. The installation is perfect! Matt and his helper worked for several hours making sure everything was exactly right. Our new door is STUNNING. Worth every penny! I highly recommend Elegant Door and Window for your next project. I would totally use them again!

I just bought a house with old school interior doors. The last time I moved my boyfriend spent days trying to install new doors – getting the hinges exactly right so the doors would actually open and close was an ordeal. This time I decided to let Elegant Door do the work for us and was amazed at the results! They copied the hardware and its placement on my old doors exactly so the new ones would fit perfectly and they did! I really did not think that would be possible! Great service, quick turn around, and reasonable price! What more could you ask for!

Your right Mary. My remarks about you not caring about the kid was a judgement call. However, what is fact is that you did nothing to accommodate us. It was always according to your schedule. I have multiple emails to prove you have done nothing to fix the problems your guys left behind. I asked simply for the paint info to paint all the unpainted areas left by your painters, but you won’t even provide me that info. So giving your business a 1 star is because Zero star is not an option on Unilocal

PLS READ. This review is overdue, but I want to share my experience so that no one has to go through what we through. Reading the other negative reviews… Their description of Mary is quite accurate and I’ll leave it at that. I’ll focus on the job at hand. We hired Matt last October to put in new doors and jams throughout our entire house, including casing around all doors. We ended up going with our own painters because their recommended painter was overpriced and she wasn’t able to get a hold of them. We told Matt and Mary we were putting in new floors and described all the work being done on the house so they could coordinate with the other contractors as to who should come first. They didn’t ask any follow up question, just stated they should go first. I went to work while the house was worked on assuming they would put the casing all the way to the floor since we were getting them replaced. THEY assumed I was getting carpet and cut the casing short. Leaving gaps in almost every door! We got laminate floors and he was basically saying laminate was thin and made me feel like it was my fault. A.) I did my part in telling you I was replacing my floors B.) you are the professionals and should be asking these specific questions. It’s just so disappointing to have these gaps after spending so much money remodeling your home.
In short, one star for being reasonably priced and another star for the fact that the doors were installed fine. Matt attempted to fix by just adding caulk but it looked so bad I told him to just leave it as is. He was a nice guy, I’ll give him that.
If you decide to go here. Be sure to be specific and ask all your questions up front. Also, don’t expect Mary to provide good customer service.

Family owned business in Dublin. Matt and Mary are wonderful to communicate and work with. We purchased a new set of double entry doors which are stunning and beautiful. Prices were reasonable and the installation went well, even when there were unforeseen glitches in the floor gap. Matt provided a wonderful custom made solution to the issue by adding a matching colored floor wood strip to close the gap. We are happy with the door quality as well as the wonderful services provided by the family. Will definitely recommend them to my friends.

Mary talked right over us, constantly interrupting every sentence, repeating useless information. She must be in love with her own voice, because she couldn’t stop spewing long enough to even to listen to us, much less answer our questions coherently.
Additionally, what the hell is a door and window store in Dublin doing with no A/​C, fans, or even doors/​windows propped open? It was hot and still as a buried coffin in that store.
All-​around unbearable.

Matt and his wife Mary the owners of Elegant doors and windows run a great business. They came out and re-​hung our sticky front door and got it working again, like new. Upon completion of the doors they replaced some single pane glass windows for us and changed out our old kitchen window for a new one, which really brings in the light and updates the whole kitchen. The old south facing windows were the worst and now they are superb! I highly recommend this company.

Friendly attentive help while we picked out our replacement front door. Delivery and installation as scheduled. New door looks great.

Great service and installation of doors. I have a beautiful red oak front door from this company that continues to look and perform great.
This time, I went to them for a new side door for my garage. Mary was very helpful in selecting the right kind of door and followed up regularly with me. Matt installed the door at a time convenient for me and completed it on time and with high quality.
They even came back a few days later to install a small piece of weather stripping that they were not able to complete during the initial install.
Excellent company, the best I’ve dealt with for superb doors.

We recently had our closet doors changed and are really happy with the work done. Both Mary and Matt were very courteous and made sure the work was done at the earliest and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely do business with them in the future.

I just have an unpleasant experience with this store. I found an used door on craiglist and it had been posted over 16 days. I spent 4 days to check on this item and was very serious to buy it. It provided all those contact info, phone, address and even the store website. I called and left voice messages couple times and no one returned the call so I emailed them. He finally replied and I asked if he could hold on so my handyman can come and pick up the tomorrow or a day after, I even provided the handyman name and my contact number. Right away, I informed my handyman to go there the next day to pickup
The following day he sent me email around noon stating someone will come and see it and if that person decided not to buy it then he will sell it to me. He said I did not sound so serious since I did not come to store to see the item. I said I had been contacted him thought phones and left messages and he was the one never returned the call and with no option that I have to email him. So it is not good enough I left my contact number and send my handyman to pick up?
This is the exact wording he said on email, «At least I was honest with you, and I told you that someone may want to buy, and we let you know as a courtesy to see if you were still interested.
I didn’t need to do that…
No more emails please. Have a nice day «
After couple email messages with him back and forth, the last reply he said he just sold the item.
I checked cragilist today that item is still posted for sale.
With all these incidents, it makes you wondering what is going on with this store. What is the purpose to post it on craiglist and then when customer got serious and contacted for pickup and then a day later they declared this item was sold.
I discussed with my friend that doing this business and they said this is not good business practice and this is another method on marketing to lure/​attract customer to go their store and possible to purchase other expensive items.
What kind of business is that? This store does not think craiglist is serious or legit? That is why they could care less about «trust» and customer service? He said craiglist buyer is flaky. As a customer how do we think about this seller posted that on craiglist? If that is why they could not care, then they should not even post their store address and website at all,. I am sharing this experience with you and I will not recommend this store to my friends and coworker.

Great prices great selection, great service, great work, so why would you shop at a giant box store when you could shop here and support a local mom and pop business. A++

We couldn’t be happier with the service and results from a recent front door frame and lock replacement job from Elegant Door and Window. Mary and Matt provide excellent service, and the job was done with quality and on-​time. We will definitely do business with them in the future.

Matt and Mary were extremely knowledgeable and helpful form the time we started to look for doors at their store in Dublin to the time Matt completed installing our doors in Castro Valley. Even after the doors were installed we returned with questions that they were able to answer. The selections of doors were numerous as well as the hardware. If we need doors in the future we would return as our experience with them was professional and we were quite satisfied with the experience.

Absolutely stunning new entry doors for our home. Mary was extremely helpful in our decision, helping us with glass, stain color and wood choice. She is very professional and knowledgeable. There are a number of doors on display to see. Since our doors were custom it did take some time to get them but it was worth it. I would highly recommend using this company for your new doors
