I have been coming here since 2012 and I don’t know how I could of not written a review for this place!!! I have been to see many Optometry offices in my life and hands down by far this is the best one ever!!! Everyone is super professional and friendly! Wendy the Office Manager and her staff always go above and beyond in their customer service!!! Also the Doctors are amazing as well!!! The environment is always warm and welcoming with a good selection of designer frames!!! I came yesterday and Wendy was amazing and even gave me a new solution to try for my contacts!!! Also I would like to say this is the fastest office where they are thorough and they get you out of their fast! In the past at other places I spend dreadful hours as they had me waiting! I love this place so go ahead and just book your appointment today you will be highly satisfied!!!

I came here to get a new pair of glasses and I’m so glad I did! They have such a large selection of frames which is really important for me since I’ve always had trouble finding a pair that looks good with my face shape. The lady was so helpful and patient with me while I tried on a bunch of frames. She also was able to rush order my glasses since I needed them for my upcoming trip. They usually take 2 weeks or so, but she was able to get them done in a week for me. If you’re looking for new glasses go here! They’re amazing!

First I have to apologize because this review is way overdue, since I’ve been out of state and extremely busy with personal and family things. But I just have to write this review to show how I appreciate and thankful for the help and assistance from the staffs at Golden Dublin Optometry, hat tip especially for Wendy, the office manager there! I hope she still remember us!
So it all started when I was looking for a new eye doctor, like others, I searched on Unilocal first and by far this place has most positive reviews, so I went there accompanied by my mom to see the place and ask if they also work with my vision insurance. Upon entering, it was busy and several patients were waiting on the sofa. Wendy, despite being busy, told us to have a seat and wait and she will help us, she kindly help me and patiently answered my question regarding the insurance, confirming the coverage and everything… so we feel comfortable and rest assured because certainly she knows what she’s doing and an expert in this field (she also has good sense of humor too!). Then she set me up with an appointment for an eye exam with Dr. Dang.
On the day of the appointment, we arrived early and checked in, then wait a moment until Dr. Dang called me in. Dr. Dang is very knowledgable and she explained and answered all the questions that I have regarding my vision. She also very professional and really care about her patients, she even tried a several contact lenses on me to see which one that I like the best and feel comfortable with, to ensure proper fit.
After the exam, I want to buy a new glasses and decided to get the one with brand name Burberry. Wendy helped me with selecting and trying the glasses and even ensuring that I get the proper size that fits my face! because the Burberry frame that I like has two sizes, one small and the other one is bigger, then she went ahead and provided both sizes for me to try to ensure that I get the one that I like and fits the shape of my face. She is really patient and professional. Not only that, she is also very kind and nice and go above and beyond to help the patients! When me and my mom visited again to pick up my frame, my mom had a painful feeling in her teeth area and she kindly gave a traditional chinese medicine that she brought from Taiwan to my mom! My mom and me are very thankful and appreciate her kindness and help. We never forget that. Thank you Wendy, Dr. Dang, and all staffs at Golden Dublin Optometry! We are happy to have a primary eye care doctor/​optometrist to belong to and get our vision needs, surely we will come back for our vision needs in the future.

So far so good!!!
I had walked by this place a million times eating my usual Asian fare at the Ulferts center. But when I’d far extended the last pair of contact lens I had… it was time to get my eye exam done so that I could get my refresher contact lens supply.
I called Golden Dublin and they managed to fit me in despite a hectic schedule they had. Being someone who’s very apprehensive about insurance coverages as well, I had also called ahead to make sure that my insurance was accepted, and I think the manager of the practice (Wendy) took hold of the situation and called my insurance company so that we knew upfront what the coverages are, etc, etc. With Asian places, I’m usually a little cautious with how they would handle the whole insurance situation and I’m so happy that they she took control of the situation and helped me do the research.
When I got in for my appointment, to be honest, I’ve never seen a practice so busy!!! The flow of customers coming in was almost like clockwork, so I definitely appreciated even more that they took such good care of me even before I stepped in.
Dr. Laurel was my designated optometrist, she was very patient, clear and concise about explaining the ins and outs of near-​sightedness, and also explained every step of the way why she conducted certain tests. Lo and behold!!! I think my previous optometrist had given me eye prescriptions that were too strong!!! No wonder I’ve been feeling those bad headaches with those glasses for almost 2 years now!
Right now, I’m trying on her new prescription for the 1^st week to make sure that they are comfortable and to see if my eyes settle in. I love that she didn’t just give me a prescription and send me packing. I really appreciate that we’re doing this carefully, and step by step so that I’ll have a good prescription for my near-​sightedness for years to come.
I feel like I’ve found a good place I can return to. I’m looking forward to the rest of the process and to finally getting my contacts, and it sounds like I’m off to a good start!

First time I used an optometry outside of my primary care, and absolutely love this place — their service, product availability and the knowledge they have have. Excellent customer service. Wendy is Awesome and so helpful!

DONT COME HERE! sad to say but unless you are of Asian decent you will NOT get good customer service, I was not acknowledged when I walked in for my eye appointment and the only reason I really came here was because they were the only ones who had a big designer selection to choose from, but that didn’t do me any good because they are extremely over priced and sell designer frames for as much as the actually designers on there website. The doctor here was okay, but when I got my glasses I they were all wrong and it took 8 weeks for me to get them! Don’t come here. Save yourself your valuable time and the rude Asian women that point at you with there fingers!

I had already given this business a 5 star rating as I’ve been extremely pleased with Wendy, one of the managers there. I broke my glasses and came back to replace them. I walked away in less than 30 mins with a brand new pair at 0 cost and no questions asked. I’ve worked with optometrists in NYC, SF and abroad and I’m happy to recommend Golden Dublin Optometry for their exceptional customer care.

Really disappointed. Tried to schedule an appointment here for a new patient. Called. Scheduled for Saturday morning without issue (I got a new insurance company so I have to switch doctors).
Show up for my appointment a few minutes early and they tell me I was wrong, that my appointment was next week (memorial day weekend). I said no, and even showed them the email reminder I received from them. At that point they hand me the paperwork to fill out.
I asked «since you don’t have me on the schedule can you still see me for my appt?» They go «well see». So what? I’m supposed to sit there all day while you try to squeeze me in? I left.
I actually would have been less upset if they said we had a technical glitch. Sorry. Can we reschedule? But not being upfront and telling me that if I sit around for awhile they may be able to squeeze me in (what if I hadn’t asked?). That’s shady.
Hunt for a new eye doctor continues.

My wife and I are very pleased with the service and quality of frames at Golden optometrist, the staff are all very friendly, in particular Sandy she helped me and my wife during the 5 pairs we bought. I would definitely recommend.

I had a great experience here. They have an awesome selection of stylish sunglasses! They were busy and Wendy spent time helping me find the right fit for me. All of the staff was helpful. They are also open longer hours than most other optometrists.

I’ve been a customer at GDO for many years. Although I feel their prices are a bit high compared to chain stores you find at malls, Costco, etc. their selection and service are exceptional! Take for instance my last visit there. My Eclipse clip-​ons broke and needed repair. The first thing they do is see if it’s still under warranty. Since mine were over a year old it was no longer covered. I was told the repair would take on average two weeks. I requested for a rush order and a replacement case (yeah that broke, too) as I would be leaving town in two weeks. I got an unexpected call from them today (exactly a week later) and was told my clip-​ons were ready for pick up. Wow! Very impressed and pleased. 5-​stars go to Kim for EXCELLENT customer service and really taking care of her customer! Highly recommended. Thank you.

Huge thanks to Sandy here! I came in with a few glasses needing adjustment and she was very quick and great at what she did. Highly recommended.

Sorry but this update is way overdue. I am so glad to report that a few days after my review, Mina from their business office saw my review and contacted me. She apologized and made sure to expedite shipment of my eyeglass case to my residence.
I have since gone back to order glasses for my family members and their service was great and prompt. I really do believe in second chances and am appreciative when businesses or people reach out and try to rectify any issues. Thank you Mina!

They messed up my bill at first, but customer service followed up with me later on and took care of it. For that, I am satisfied and appreciate that they actually care about their customers.

Having been with Kaiser Permanente my entire life, along with my terrible vision genetics (got my first glasses at age 7), I was very nervous about switching optometrists after I started my first job post-​graduation. I searched up VSP doctors that are open on Sundays (very important for someone who doesn’t want to take time off work!) and cross-​referenced them to their Unilocal ratings… And Golden Dublin Optometry was my final decision.
Golden Dublin is located in Ulferts Center in Dublin — if you don’t know what it is, it’s a square filled with Asian stores and restaurants. As a result, they’re very Asian-​friendly and serve Mandarin-​speaking customers as well. The office itself is cozy and clean. Logistic-​wise, they got through everything very quickly and efficiently. Also, props to the workers for being incredibly patient with my indecisiveness… It took me over half an hour to pick out my new glasses, and they had to painstakingly take the frames out of the drawer each time I wanted to try them on.
My actual eye exam was done by Dr. Laurel, who is easy to talk to and probably one of the most charming, genuine people I have ever met. During the exam, she asked me about my life, told me about her life, and gave me some great advice on my outdated contact lenses — instilling trust and showing that she really cared about my wellbeing.
The professionalism and geniality of all the workers there astounds me. When you visit any sort of establishment, you can tell when people care, and when people love their job. Every single worker there seemed to exude both of these qualities. I’m very, very impressed with Golden Dublin and I’ll definitely be coming back here whenever I need anything vision-​related.

Dr. Dang is very thorough and detailed with her exam. Their equipment is very modern.
One thing though one of the exam room is very cramped but I guess no need for bigger room as it serves the purpose. They have a selection of frames at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and not pushy. I can’t wait to pick up my glasses.

Today was my 2^nd visit to them only because I had Lasik surgery done and since I could see almost ²⁰⁄₂₀ I put off getting an eye exam for the past 2 years. The reason for my visit was a chemical burn I had in one eye. I called right when they opened and spoke to Wendy their office manager. She was extremely helpful and checked to make sure my insurance was going to cover the visit, so I wouldn’t have to pay any unnecessary costs.
She said the doctor could see me in about 30 minutes. I went there and they greeted me warmly with a smile. Dr. Laurel checked out my eye and was very friendly, informative and always asked if I had any questions or concerns that she could answer.
I ended leaving with a new pair of Gucci sunglasses, since their Gucci representative was there showing them their new styles. Highly recommend!!! Great service and a caring attitude towards their patients. I will be back to get my annual eye exams.

I have been a patient here for over six years now, and everyone at Golden Dublin Optometry continues to impress me with every visit. As a tech professional, I have been switching jobs every two years. Each time, Office Manager Wendy would take the time to help me understand the key differences between my old coverage and new coverage. Once she finishes explaining the difference, she would recommend the best and most cost-​effective option for me.
Golden Dublin Optometry also provides excellent after-​sale customer service. I recently mangled one of the nose pads on my glasses. Dr. Dang and her staff were more than happy to replace both for free. I have and will continue to recommend Golden Dublin Optometry to my friends and family.

I found this place on Unilocal!because I was looking for a place that accepted VSP insurance and who also carried Ray-​Bans frames available in store. Most places don’t offer Ray-​Bans (boo!) but Golden Dublin Optometry does. I arrived on time and filled out necessary (standard) paperwork, and waited maybe 10 minutes until the staff started on my tests… They had brought up all my insurance information beforehand so there wasn’t any extra waiting time on that.
The machines they had were a lot more thorough than I had ever experienced before. They had this eye-​pressure machine that blew air into my eye (not in a bad way) that my previous optometrist didn’t use. Also they had a peripheral vision test thing that was pretty cool too.
The doctor I saw was a very nice, younger lady that was very accommodating and answered all of my questions and was very informative. Their exam room used all digital testing, i.e. (instead of a poster of letters on the wall with a moving light, it was a reflective computer screen that they use here at their office. Pretty cool. Makes me feel like my previous Eye Doctor was stuck in the stone-​age.
After all my tests were done, the gentleman that helped me pick our my frames was really helpful in the process of selecting my frames. I pretty much knew what I wanted but he was very helpful in finding prices and letting me know what was on back-​order and what was available right away. I picked out the Ray-​Bans Wayferer’s with Rx and transition lenses and it only cost me less than $ 100 (after my insurance). I was expecting to pay a lot more, honestly!
Overall today was a great experience. They have a HUGE selection of frames, so you won’t get stuck with over priced frames from a small selection like other eye doctors.
Don’t forget to go to their website and print out their $ 20.00 gift certificate. The guy who helped me offered me $ 20 off anyway, but in case they don’t, make sure you bring it with you!
I definitely suggest going here! :) Can’t wait to pick up my frames!
