Graeter’s Ice Cream

The best ice cream in the country. The french pot process makes all the difference plus no added air or non fat filler. This is a rich think full fat ice cream that features huge chocolate chunks from liquid chocolate added to the mix causing huge chips of chocolate. The all time best is the black raspberry chip, the fruit and chocolate combination is excellent. At every location there is always a line. My waistline is glad that the nearest location is 100’s of miles away from New Orleans.

Still me preferred ice cream Shoppe. Consistently great flavors, best milkshakes, and great service.

Excellent service and even on nice days like today never as crazy packed. Biggest advantage of this location over others!!!

Truly one of the best premier ice cream spots in Columbus. Their flavors are consistent and much better tasting than Jeni’s. This is a spacious ice cream shop with outdoor seating near the pond. Quaint and peaceful in the warmer months. Nice friendly staff. Ample free parking.

My first visit left me disappointed. I got a scoop of coffee and a scoop of salted caramel. Both had freezer burn. Lots of rice sized pieces of ice!

First time at this place. The location is near my hotel in Dublin, Ohio and heard from people I work with that this ice cream parlor is popular, even with OSU because they have favorite named sundae. They have 4 different styles of creamery items… classic ice cream, gelato, fruit sorbet, featured or seasonal flavors (the one I tried was key lime pie ice cream, that tasted like whole crushed pie as an ice cream), & their signature chocolate chip flavors. The chocolate chips are no joke, more like chocolate chip chunks, almost like the ones you use for baking.
I ordered the 1870 Tower sundae. Although it came in a banana split tray, it was due me ordering an additional scoop. Ok, details…1870 Tower normally comes with black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream, a mini bundt cake, heated, & topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, walnuts & a cherry, and like a tower shape. I also added another scoop called dark chocolate gelato. What I didn’t know is each of their gelato flavors have flavored truffles that matched their gelato. The one I got was dark chocolate gelato with dark chocolate truffles. Wholly crap, it tasted awesome. I was thinking of trying more flavors but might wait till tomorrow.
Even as I write this review, people are streaming in this location. It’s already 9:50p & still people steady flow of customers (closes at 11pm). Other than their standard ice cream scoops, they have ice cream to go in quarts, pints, small 5 oz containers, & in ice cream cakes (sizes varies). They have classic sundaes, signature sundaes, shakes & malts, smoothies, and something called double dip sodas. It has sparkling water, 2 scoops of their vanilla bean ice cream, and your choice of fountain syrups.
Ambiance is good. Easy on the eyes. I think this location is in the suburbs. You can get ice cream to go or eat in. On your receipt, you register for a rewards card program as well. Great price value for a tasty treat after a hard days work.

This place is delicious and I had to try it after all the great reviews so we went on a rainy night when my 2 year old was couped up all day. It was very cool to be able to get fresh thick and creamy ice cream instead of the corporate alternative cap that is so hard you need a chisel to eat it. The indoor playground is perfect for a rainy, snowy, or hot day!

There was a line to the door for a reason. The ice cream is that good here! It was a Sat night so there was lots of help to make the wait short. Plenty of tables inside or outside. This is THE place to go for ice cream in Dublin. Try the raspberry chocolate chip.

Gooey, creamy, calorie and fat laden diet killing goodness. We were introduced to Graeters when we started visiting Ohio seven years ago. It became a must visit each time we came. Now we live here and it’s hard to resist their yummy hand-​crafted Ice creams. Clean and very friendly staff. Absolutely love their blueberry pie ice cream. Favorite place to take the grandkids.

Every time I am in the Ohio area for business, I try to make a trip to Graeter’s to get some ice cream. My favorite is the Peanut Butter Chip ice cream. Service here is friendly and they let you sample any flavors you want. The Black Raspberry is their signature flavor, and it’s good but not my favorite.

Great place, excellent customer service with young staff that is very courteous and respectful. Traditional choices with seasonal specials to meet cravings for everyone.

Great place! Absolutely a great place! Definitely 5 stars! They have plants of flavors, plenty of room, parking etcetera. Prices are very good and the staff was helpful about everything.

I wasn’t as crazy about it as I thought I’d be. I had the brownie sundae. Kind of small brownie, especially for the price. The ice cream was ok. My husband said the cotton candy ice cream was one of the best he’s had. We’ve had ice cream at many places and even places that claim to the city favorite. My favorite so far is a dairy farm in Connecticut so it’s not like we don’t have a basis for comparison. I will have to try a shake or smoothie next time because I wasn’t impressed with the sundae.
The service was really good though. Two people behind the counter, both super friendly and gave suggestions. They offered samples, explained the menu, and even made a cute little face with candy eyes in the kids bowls. Service is always the most important part to me so that’s why I gave them 4 stats.

When I’m in Dublin, I usually prefer Graeter’s over Jeni’s from a price point perspective as well as the places I frequent tend to have Jeni’s rather than Graeter (ie. Short North).
1 thing I enjoy here is the ice cream & milk based milkshake. I’ll admit — Graeter’s is the place of more traditional ice cream flavors when compared to Jeni’s & Handel’s but none of the other 2 makes shakes the Graeter’s way.
Love the vanilla, cookies & cream, and cookie dough.

Pretty good selection of ice creams. The «Pretzel Cone» really makes the ice cream go to another level.

Service: Always friendly (unless you show up 5 minutes till close… but then you’re a jerk… I’ve been that jerk and I don’t care b/​c I love Graeter’s ice cream).
Food: There is only one brand of ice cream I like better than Graeter’s — Hagen Dasz. But you can’t find stores/​restaurants for the brand anymore. So, in the interest of rating a solely «ice cream joint,» I have to give Greater’s a big star here.
Ambiance: Looks like an ice cream parlor! Always plenty of space to sit down if you’re not buying and running.
Price: A little pricey… but it’s really good. So whatever.
Overall: Top notch. Everyone likes Graeter’s, unless you’re lactose intolerant.

I’m from California and we don’t really have a good local ice cream chain. Baskin Robbins? Ben and Jerry’s? Ehhhh…
If you want the healthy alternative of frozen yogurt, okay, yeah we have a bunch, but not ice cream.
Last time I was in Ohio, I tired Jeni’s. I heard so many amazing things and even saw them on TV. It was definitely on my list of places to try.
This time around, my coworker and I were told that we HAD to try Graeter’s. On our last work day there, our Dublin coworkers took us to Graeter’s. I went for the kid size Mocha Chip.
After having such a large lunch, the kid size was just right. The kid size was probably a scoop and a half. The Mocha chip; a great blend of creamy milk and coffee with hand broken chocolate chips. The imperfections of the chocolate chips made the ice cream that much more personal.
Classic flavors with some unique ones. Graeter’s was definitely a Graet way to end the work day.

This is a cute local ice cream and candy shop, staffed with nice (and young & cute, if you’re into that sort of thing) people. The ice cream – which is their own – is pretty darn good. If you like peanut butter (like I do) you’re in luck here. Get the Buckeye Blitz!
The prices seem like they might be just a teensy bit high by Midwestern standards, but you are getting a pretty good quality product, so it ain’t so bad.
