This place is gorgeous! When you walk in there’s this giant shiny glass metallic horse! The ambiance was great. The place is clean and service was very friendly. We ordered at least ten different dishes for the two of us just to try them out. We enjoyed all the dishes that came out. After leaving the restaurant my husband forgot his credit card and the waiter came running out to the parking lot to give it to us. We will definitely be back with more family/friends!

HELLNAH. Don’t do it. No matter how hungry you are DONOTCOMETOTHISPLACE. The food is terrible. We asked the waiter what he recommended and even the most simple dish we ordered which was the chow fun noodles were so bland like it was just boiled noodles and thrown on a plate. We also ordered the spare ribs, which came in huge portions, as soon as I bit inside the meat was a pale gray purple. I called the waiter over and he looked at the meat confused. I told him to take it off our bill and take the plate back. I continued to eat my food and a minute later my boyfriend told me to turn around and instead of taking the plate back right away, I see not one but FOUR of the waiters surrounding and poking at the plate of meat that we asked them to bring back. So unprofessional. The only good thing about this place is the interior. Lol

Been here several times and the food is always very good, but it’s painfully obvious that they use tap water to make their tea. I wish they’d use filtered.

Came on a Thursday morning for dim sum with fam and got seated right away. The tea was good– hot and had lots of tea flavor! They gave us a menu to check off what we want instead of the usual ladies pushing carts full of dim sum. Service; very good. — tea was served ASAP — food didn’t take long to arrive –lady asked if I wanted to take a pic before she cut into the dim sum LOL Food; mediocre. — roasted pork had crispy skin but very chewy meat — egg tart wasn’t sweet enough and didn’t have the crispy filo dough as the crust –ginger and green onion tripe was good though! Thumbs up! –braised tripe with mixed intestines and turnip was flavorful, I like

This place gets crowded. I’ve been here several times but just went this past sunday so I wanted to review with my recent meal fresh in my mind. The quality is inconsistent. Some items are delicious(Steamed pork buns, shu mai — one of the best I’ve had, taro buns) and some were not that great(fried shrimp dumpling was soggy, XLB had no soup inside) There are a lot more unique items on the menu then say Lee Garden(is it still called that? they keep changing ownership) As much as I do like the carts that come around, I can also appreciate the value of ordering via a menu and a pencil. If you’re hungry, while you wait outside ask for a menu and a pencil and get your order ready. As soon as you sit you can give them the menu and your dim sum will arrive wicked fast without you having to ask whats in every bamboo steamer when the carts slowly muck around. Would highly recommend for large groups, but I’m disappointed at the inconsistency considering this place ‘seems’ to be higher end. Come here if you can’t take the Koi Garden crowd a few streets over and still want a nicer updated interior.

Many changes from initial visit; positives outweigh most of the negatives. Har Gow, Siu Mai, Conpoy Har Gao(scallop-shrimp steamed dumplings), Wu Kok(mashed taro with ground pork filling), Lo Bak Ko(pan-fried turnip cake), Har Cheong Fun(rice noodle roll with shrimp), Hom Sui Gok(salt water dumplings) — all were good. Iffy: Salt & Pepper CA Sea Bass. This tasted more like catfish or tilapia. Had the fish been fresh it would have rated excellent. This fish was a little old — not spoiled, but definitely passing its prime. A shame, as the batter was light and very pleasant. Skip: — Conpoy Choi Gao, dried scallop pea sprout steamed dumplings. The chopped pea sprouts gave it an unrelieved grassy taste. Similar in look to the Conpoy Har Gao so don’t get confused. — Kuo Teh, Pot stickers. We had liked these the first visit but not this time. This time the kitchen seasoned it heavily with five spice, and we both abhor the stuff. — Xiao Lum Bao, steamed Shanghai pork dumplings. This was a massive letdown. Tasted of nothing but salty soy and five spice — totally, completely wrong! Pros for Mayflower: Biggest, cleanest dim sum palace in Dublin/Pleasanton. By far the nicest service — not professional or efficient, mind you, but these folks actually smile at customers. Large # of unisex individual bathrooms(but please FLUSH the toilet; it’s not an automatic flusher!). Cons: High salt content. Various dishes are erratic in size, making it hard to figure out from a paper menu how much one should order. We are not in love with paper menus anyway, but that’s the way most of them are going. We rate Mayflower the best over Golden Sand(lousy service, erratic offerings), Koi Palace(LOATHE their ordering system and wait lines for food only a little bit better), and Lee Garden(which has fallen so far so fast, it’s a 100mph train wreck), for the area. We rank them tied with Saigon Harbor Seafood/Richmond; note that same dishes have different flavors between the two so it depends on what you like.

We tried going to a different dim sum place in Dublin this morning, but when we walked in it smelled like sewage. Hell no we are not eating there, so we left and came to Mayflower. Mayflower is slightly nicer, slightly more expensive. Overall the food is pretty good, still not as good as the dim sum in Alameda at East Ocean but I don’t have to drive as far to eat. Parking is easy to get and if you go early there’s no wait. I know it’s not an uncommon thing at a Chinese restaurant to gripe about, the service sucks. We had to ask multiple people multiple times for things like water, napkins, soy sauce, to go boxes. The only thing they brought quickly was the bill. Still, the food is decent and it’s fairly child friendly. They do have great bathrooms. It’s a silly thing to comment on, but the marble is a nice touch and I like how they try to line up the slabs so the patterns flowed. It’s a small thing but it shows an attention to detail.

This is my second time visiting this restaurant and I appreciate it for what it is… a delicious, spacious and we’ll deserving place to have brunch, lunch or dinner. The food is fresh, appealing and full of flavor. The restaurant it self is spacious, so large groups are well accommodated and the staff is attentive and prompt. The weekends can be a bit crazy with a bit of a wait due to its popularity for dim sum, usually it’s really hard to find a quality dim sum place around the area. Take some time and treat your self to this great food experience.

Updated review for Mothers Day Banquet We booked a table for 11 for Mother’s Day Dinner, and went for the banquet menu which has a number of tempting dishes for $ 428 for 10 people. Since we had 2 elders, 4 adults, and 5 teens & kids we figure’d out the portion sizes would work out. Overall, some of the dishes were interesting. However, portion sizes did seem on the less generous side and quality-wise, some of the dishes were under-seasoned. Adding a bowl of white rice was $ 2/per person(ouch!). In hindsight, it would be more cost-effective to order ala-carte vs. the set menu. Overall, 3-stars. Some highlights: * Shredded chicken and jellyfish was pretty tasty, and had what looked like Fritos scattered all over. Turned out to be brown shrimp chips that were strangely good. * Honey Walnut Prawns were sweet and had a nice outer crunch, but inside the prawns were a bit bland. * Smoked Seabass was excellent, especially with mayo. This dish is sort of special, since we had this dish at our wedding banquet 10 years ago at Peony and everyone raved about it. Here, Mayflower offers a decent version that brought back memories. * Seafood Fried Rice was seasoned well and had shrimp plus minced sea cucumbers(?!). Definitely interesting but otherwise unremarkable. Some dried scallops would have been nice. * Roasted Duck was really fatty and oily, but did have some juicy and meaty parts. Eat with plum sauce! * Beef, scallops, and mushrooms was an okay dish, but for some reason I had trouble finding the scallops. * Desserts were mixed — red bean soup sweet but watery. Green-tea fried sesame balls were a nice touch. The final bill with tip came out to be about $ 560 so it was a bit overpriced for the portion size. They didn’t charge for tea but did slap on $ 20 for rice for 10. Next time we go for banquet food its probably better to have it in SF or OAK Chinatown for bang-for-the-buck.

We ordered the crab soup with sweet corn but we opted for chicken instead and still got charged the crab price. Other items we ordered were the steamed BBQ pork buns, shrimp egg rolls, crispy noodles with seafood and Bok choy, salt and pepper calamari, and fried sesame balls. I didn’t care for the calamari and everything else tasted like it was bland. This place is nice and clean but it was expensive. One waitress told me I couldn’t order something then I asked another waiter and he was able to so it. She also kept telling me to make sure that’s what I want because I can’t change my mind. What kind of customer service is that.

What an awful experience. We have been customers since they opened. The restaurant was not busy by the way. I let my son(age 5) wonder at the lazy susan at the next table since the restaurant wasn’t very busy. When I looked over, I noticed a woman scowling at my son. I let it go for a second because if there are rules, there are rules son! But she started screaming at him with her face 8 inches from his saying how dirty his hands were and that he was getting the empty table settings dirty. Hands up in his face and in the air. What?! The waiters even came by to apologize for her. She continued to point fingers MY way since I had told her not to yell at my son. And bad form for the owner of the restaurant! Anti child, anti family. Go to Banana Garden next door or dim sum at Golden Sand Dublin! Skip Mayflower Unilocalers, please!

Went here for Dim Sum on a Friday. No wait at 11:30am. Quick 30 Second Description: High end, white collar, peeps with money, expensive, office-like feel, shiny horse in the atrium, six clean men-women-anyone restrooms, $ 1.50 for tea & hot water, black chopsticks with gold restaurant lettering, exceptional service, white cloth tablecloth, cloth napkins, sparkling clean seafood tanks, no-cart dim sum, hard to control dish pace, hot dishes. Well, what did we like? Liked the Chicken Feet which were big & nice, plump, tasty and cooked perfectly to where the bones, skins, tendons, all would break apart in your mouth. Liked the Beef and Mushroom Fun in Clay Pot. Slices of beef, variety of mushrooms, gravy, and rolled up fun in a clay pot. The Seen Jook Geen was also tasty and steamin’ hot. Also liked the Fried Almond Milk with slivers of fried almonds. Although, this should be brought out last and not first! It is freaking dessert and not a savory course. They really need to think about when to bring out the dessert dishes which need to be eaten hot and last. Don’t bring out first! As for average dishes… Hom Sai Gauk, and Fried Turnip Cake /Lau Bak Guo which came out with the paper — fried and connected to the Gou. No Bueno… sent this back. Overall, this is a special occasion place where you can try some unique dim sum dishes with decent quality. Expensive. you know that is the case when hot water costs you $ 1.50 a person.

It’s weird but I actually really hate dimsum. It’s just the same thing over and over again, and the next place puts more MSG and I drink so much tea that I’m peeing 10x as much(TMI). My parents wanted to give the«newest» addition of Mayflower in Dublin a try, so we stopped by for a late lunch around 1pm. First off, parking is crappy because the spots are so small and everybody there apparently thinks their better so they park like assholes in two spots. We get there, they give us a number with no mention of wait time. Make sure you keep the«card» with the written number because the lady at the front desk gets a little rowdy if you don’t hand it back to her. We get seated and asked what tea we wanted. They gave us a super large pot, but it’s 1.5 a person(which is technically expensive, but given our location, I guess it was alright). They handed us a yellow pick your own dimsum menu with both Chinese and English titles with A, B, C, D, and K to indicate how much each item is. We opted for the classic: sui mai, sticky rice in lotus leaf, bbq pork buns, chicken feet and some other things. I want to point out that though there is a variety of items on the menu, they run out of food quick. I guess since it’s a made to order they decide not to make anymore past a certain time. Also thing that grinds my gear about this location is that the food LITERALLY comes out plate by plate. And I mean we get 1out of the 7 things we order and we eat it, and wait for the next one to arrive. That’s a great system, no not really. The food was either really BLAND or overly seasoned. The portions were small for their asking price and they didn’t bring 3 of our items and ran out of 2. Since we were still hungry, we decided to order a fried rice special. The seafood egg white and dried scallop fried rice for EIGHTEEN dollars. We at this point should of just went to Gum Kuo down the street. It came and it was only topped with fried dried scallop, like 5 tiny pieces of shrimp, 1 scallop that was shredded and it was so disappointing. I read reviews on this place AFTER we had eaten, and I can see why it has such low ratings even though other people have had better experiences. Maybe it’s one of those judging other asians things, but it was not worth the 70 $ that we spent here for the lack of food and service. I mean the only awesome thing about this restaurant was the fact that they had 6 bathrooms and they were clean and classy AF. There’s also this giant shiny horse that’s on the inside of the restaurant when you walk in like at PF Changs. They should of used the space better to seat more people, but you do what you want. I’ll probably head back to Chinatown/East Bay Area for my family’s dimsum needs.

We came here for a chinese style banquet, I want to apologize in advance on this review due to the fact that i don’t have a clue how much prices are here nor how big portions are, due to the fact that banquet prices and portions are different than regular. We started off with the jellyfish, bbq pork, chicken, so far so good. We then moved on to the pigeon and it was delicious, they then brought out fried chicken which was also good. As the dishes kept coming out we go a huge lobster, which made me think what do they feed these lobsters they’re humongous, in my opinion the lobster was subpar, we also got abalone and it was my first time trying it, it was delicious. Overall it was fairly good quality and great for big parties, we had an 11 people group and they handled us like champs.

White table cloth, very pretty dining hall. Upon entering the restaurant you’ll see a GIANT golden horse at the entrance. Pleasant staff with diverse crowd of customers. Food was delicious. VERYCLEANBATHROOMS~ extra plus, usually Chinese restaurants restrooms you’ll have to approach with caution but here, marbled walls and floors in the restroom… its clean enough that I’d probably eat in there…

Solid 4 stars on our dim sum experience the other Sunday. The wait was slightly shorter than Koi Palace down the street. For a party of 6, we waited about 30 minutes at 12:30. You are given a dim-sum menu where you select dishes you want and they will be delivered to your table –as opposed to chasing down dim-sum carts and checking each steamed bamboo container. The food came out a lot faster than I expected. We ordered 13 items so there was a constant flow of food coming in.(See some of my posted pics). The standard shrimp dumpling, pork sui mai, chicken feet, and shrimp with rice noodles were on par with other restaurants. The stellar dish was their turnip cake sautéed in XO chili Sauce. They were cut into little cubes and pan fried on all sides. This was delicious. The restaurant is modern and bright. The restrooms were clean! Not sure how many Chinese restaurant restrooms I’ve ever claimed as «clean». Lol. There’s plenty of parking.(They are in the same plaza as Buffalo Wild Wings).

Tried this restaurant for the first time with my family and our family friend. It was nice to immediately get a table that comfortably seated all seven of us. Their food is not cheap, but it’s well worth the price. You get good food, exceptional service, and a suitable ambiance for a Sunday dinner. To start, we had Crab with Fish Maw soup. Without having to ask, they served it in smaller bowls with an option of red vinegar to enhance the soup’s flavor. My son had two bowls of the soup. All the kids wanted the soup inside the XiaoLongBao(pork dumplings). I only ate one piece and left the rest for my son, daughter, and my daughter’s friend. I found the skin to be a little thick. But the soup and meat filling tasted well. We ordered Yang Chow fried rice and Crispy fried chicken with Garlic for the kids. These were a hit with our 3 toddlers. Apparently, my daughter’s classmate, whom we we invited over for dinner, was a big fan of fried rice. I was exceptionally impressed of how they managed to make the stewing chicken into crispy fried chicken. The crispy meat laid on top of the tender juicy chicken meat. For the adults, we feasted on generous portions of clam with black bean sauce, cod fillet and tofu hot pot. Both dishes were prepared just right. Clams are a bit tricky, but it was cooked tender and the meat easily fell off the shell. We ended our meal with free dessert of almond cookies and mochi. We ended up with a $ 96 bill. It’s all good.
