Dr. Hu performed a root amputation when another surgeon told me the tooth was beyond saving and I should have it extracted and do an implant. She saved the tooth and grafted so bone, so I am a happy camper!

Dr Hu is a very poor dentist. My experience with her was anything but satisfactory. On the day of my surgery, i was sitting in the dental chair ready to go under anesthesia, she came over and asked me: what are we doing today? What!!! you are the one who is suppose to perform surgery in 2 minutes and you come and ask me what’s going on? Through out the period when i was getting my work done with her, she never took even one x-ray of my teeth. She just went with the x-ray of another dentist. So, during surgery, she operated on my gum, and then she exclaimed: your tooth needs to be pulled out! What?! now you tell me when I m under anesthesia, and I have only a split second to make a decision?!! My tooth was already being operated on and I was under so much pressure, i gave in to her and made the worse decision in my life. Hello, can you take an x-ray before hand and let me know ahead of time. It fell like highway robbery. Then, my entire operation was estimated to be around $ 3000 dollars and was written up in an estimate sheet. She was only going to pull one tooth and perform surgery on 4 quadrants of my mouth. After pulling out 2 teeth, and performed surgery on 3 teeth, she used up my $ 3000 and she decided to call her work done. Hello, what about the remaining quadrant that still needed work?! Of course, by this time, i was having second thoughts about her work and the quality, and about her skill as a dentist. What upsetted me the most was I felt this dentist took a serious operation in a haphazard manner. This is not the end. When I went to another dentist to finish up the remaining work, he told me that one of the teeth Dr Hu did surgery on needed a repeat of the same procedure because the results were sad at best. Was I upset?!! you bet I was upset. I just spent thousands of dollars on an operation that was suppose to save my teeth. What did I get from her? Either my teeth got extracted without planning to or the operation wasn’t successful and needed a repeat or more work needed to be done and I needed to borrow more money to save my tooth. All this happened within half a year of each other. What a waste of my money, time and the pain and discomfort I went through. She and her work was useless at best and she should not be performing surgeries to fool others. I m very unhappy with the results from her, and strongly caution anyone else who is thinking of going to her: think twice, three times, hesitate, don’t go to her for your dental problems. I gave her one star because I have to in order to post this review on Unilocal. She really does not deserve even one star.

Surprised that there is none review of this wonderful dentist so far on Unilocal! Dr. Hu is really professional, patient, easygoing and always smiles. My husband had a teeth deep clean last year with Dr. Hu. He hadn’t had any teeth clean over 7 years before we married! Can you image how yuck his teeth would be!!! So our friend recommended Dr. Hu to us. Dr. Hu suggested him to have a deep clean after a regular teeth clean. Lucky, we have insurance to cover both. But her price is really reasonable even for people without insurance. Anyway, my husband had to get deep clean. He was so worried about it as he did some research and found out a lot of people were not happy with teeth deep clean. Most of them said it was sort of torture and painful, sore, blah blah blah… BUT, our experience with Dr. Hu was a milestone — - She was professional and caring, she did every step carefully. My husband did not go through any pain afterward, only at the first day after, he had a little sore. But he was totally fine to go back to work, eat, drink and smile :) I highly recommend Dr. Hu to anyone who has had unpleasant experience with other dentists(you can stop by my reviews about the worst dentist I’ve met.) And they open on Saturdays!!! How wonderful !!! Sadly, we moved out of bay area this year. I have to start looking for a good dentist like Dr. Hu, crossing my fingers. I really want to say that we really really miss Dr. Hu and her teams.
