SentinelHarts German Shepherds

I have wanted a German Shepherd for years. I had fostered GSD’s in college, and had been a vet tech for several years and have seen all sizes, shapes, and temperaments of GSD’s. When we began our search, my fiancé and I had a pretty good idea what we were looking for. We did NOT want the hyper-​angulated standard black and tan, but had fallen in love with the dark sable color and working-​dog type build. After looking at a dozen breeders, we happened to find Sentinel Harts and the rest is history!
Camilla was very welcoming when we visited her kennel, and her GSD welcoming committee was very sweet! She was very interested in what we were like as people and gave us her opinion on which upcoming litter would be best for us.
Once the puppies arrived, we decided on one in particular from the pictures, but Camilla encouraged us to visit if we could, which was hard since we live in Southern California. We ended up going to visit, and it’s a good thing we did because the puppy we had chose online was not the one for us. Instead, our amazing boy Otto (Urban Legend) picked us and we could not be happier! In fact, I am so proud of him that he has his own Instagram (@mynameisotto) so I can post as many picture of him as I want!
He is such a smart, amazing, handsome dog! Everywhere we go (and I know people always say this), but literally everywhere we go with him people take notice and comment on what a handsome boy he is. Even in his training class, which consists of dozens of GSD’s, Malinois, and Dutch Shepherds, people notice Otto and his solid nerve and drive and his good looks. His is a favorite among the trainers and enjoys his training.
Camilla is wonderful about answering e-​mails, offering advice, and answering questions. She sincerely cares about her dogs and what happens to them and helps you as much as she can. If you are a RESPONSIBLE person looking for a GSD, than I would highly recommend Camilla and Sentinel Harts.

I began researching breeders in the Spring of 2014. I knew I wanted a GS, but I didn’t know from whom I wanted to buy. I also knew I wanted a dark colored GS, black or sable. Not exactly the best criteria to use when looking for a responsible breeder, but by sheer luck or happy coincidence, I found Camilla at SentinelHarts.
From the first email, Camilla was very engaging and interested in what my goals were in finding a GS puppy. She was/​is very accommodating and welcoming to her kennels. My opinion, when a breeder runs a clean and tight kennel, visitors should not only be welcomed, they should be encouraged. At that first meeting she was very patient and gracious and answered all questions asked. Her welcoming committee, the three or four well-​mannered GSDs that were running around, were also very gracious and gentle.
As a breeder, Camilla is quite well-​versed in the history, characteristics, temperament, personality, quirks, and traits of the working line of GSDs. Her focus is on furthering and bettering the breed through careful, selective breeding, knowing the full extent of each mating pair’s medical, pedigree, and working/​titling history. This is not hobby breeding. This is a business with serious goals and achievements.
Post-​purchase, her engagement and interest in her puppies and clients is equal to the pre-​purchase interaction. She’s always responsive to questions and concerns about the puppies’ welfare and progress in their new homes.

When my bf and I were looking to get a purebred sable german shepherd puppy, we visited several breeders around the east Bay Area. We finally decided to choose SentinelHart. The living environment for the dogs is great, it is very clean. All dogs are looking very stunning. The most important thing is that Camilla always has the best interest in heart. For me, as a new dog parent, Camilla was being really considerable and helped us choose the best puppy for us. We had several visits with our puppy before he was old enough to go home with us. After we got him home, Camilla checked on our puppy several times to make sure he was on the right track. She is also quick at responding whenever I have any sort of questions or concerns. Overall, she would be the number one person whom I would definitely recommend if anyone is looking to get a shepherd.

I was looking for a purebred German Shepard and after screening several breeders I went to check out SentinelHarts. I was impressed right away with Camilla’s interest in me and my goals for the puppy and also what kind of owner I would be for the dog. She has everyone’s best interests truly at heart.
SentinelHarts is a very well run operation, with keeping things clean for the puppies a top priority. (She had us dip our shoes in a bleach solution before we could enter the pen with the puppies.) She was patient, and willing to let us come in several times to select the right puppy, and then allowing us to visit our puppy before she was old enough to come home with us.
Camilla’s commitment to the process is outstanding, she wants to be sure that each puppy is well received and fitting into their new home. She has called to check on us and how things are going with our new pup several times. The puppy came with a very well organized booklet with all the information we needed about our dog and new puppy information.
Our puppy is beautiful, a sable female, with a friendly disposition, who likes to play, but is willing to take commands from us. We are having great success training her, and look forward to many years with this new member of our family!
