A friend took my car to Ayham at Zorba Automotive to confirm my belief
the air suspension may be going out on the front passenger side of my Jaguar XJR. After receiving an estimate from Jaguar regarding the cost to repair my car, I was interested in any alternatives to help reduce the astronomical cost that I was originally quoted by Jag. I was also faced with a good possibility that the other three wheels would eventually collapse as well (cha-​ching $$$). I spoke with Ayham who suggested converting my air suspension to a conventional suspension system. He informed me that I could replace all four corners of my car suspension for less than the cost of repairing just one through Jaguar. The suspension kit that he suggested uses Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs which are guaranteed for life. I didn’t know about the reputation of Bilstein and Eibach, but apparently after extensively researching those brands, they have a very long and positive reputation. I also need to add that Jaguar had told me that both my lower control arms were worn and that they needed to be replaced. After Ayham inspected the lower control arms he discovered that it wasn’t my control arms that were bad, but it was the bushings on both camber arms that were worn out, (finally, an honest mechanic)!
I inquired about this conversion with my regular service providers that normally care for my car and they informed me that it was not a good idea to convert my suspension with anything other than Jaguar factory parts. Aside from not recommending the conversion, they also told me that my car would ride like a truck and that I would hate the way it would ride and handle.
Good thing I didn’t listen to Jaguar!!! That was so far from the actual truth. My friend who is extremely knowledgeable about cars (thank you Hector) told me he would do the conversion if it was his car and that I would probably have virtually NO noticeable changes to the ride of my vehicle and that replacing all four sections of my suspension for less than the cost of repairing just one component of just one of my wheels is a «no brainer».
Ayham inspected my car and advised me of all the things that needed to be repaired and the ones I could postpone, if I needed to wait. I cannot begin to thank Ayham enough, not only for the care he took with my car, but for the thousands of dollars he saved me. Most importantly, I know I can trust him implicitly with my car. If anyone has a suspension problem
with their Jaguar, or any other car for that matter, I highly recommend going to Zorba Automotive and have the Bilstein suspension conversion done. I cannot tell the difference between the original factory ride and the new one.
I’m so happy I went to Zorba’s and from now I will solicit his help for any and all service needs on my Jaguar. I’m a woman and I know very little about cars. It’s good to know that I can go to a repair shop and not be taken for a ride. I saved over $ 5,000.00 by listening to Ayham! Thanks Ayham and Zorba Automotive!

I brought my 2001 honda accord in because I thought I had an alignment issue due to vibrations. I also had a small oil leak which I thought was my oil pan gasket. The owner took my car for a test drive and later told me it wasn’t alignment problem. He asked if I could leave my car there so he could check the issue. Few hours later he called me to come back. He had figured out the issue and explained to me what he thought would be the problem. He said he is 80% sure it was the flywheel but can not guarantee because it could also be the axle which was a little loose. Oil leak was not from oil pan gasket but from inside the engine. He explained how much the parts cost and how much labor is going to be.
I dont usually write reviews, but this place has a very good vibe. The owner is very honest and upfront. Will not trick you into fixing things which does not need fixing like most other mechanics out there.
I didn’t feel pressured like most places and the guy was just real cool and friendly.
I will take all future cars to him and refer all my friends and family. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic now days.

I found Zorba Automotive purely by accident. Since I’ve only been living in Northern CA for 3 years, I was looking for a shop that did honest and ethical business as well as be reasonably priced to handle a few issues with my car. I just happened to be driving to the BART station and I noticed Zorba Automotive. I decided to stop in and «VET» the owner and evaluate the shop. My father was a Master Tech with Toyota for over 30 years and as a result, I know a thing or two about cars, auto repair and the acceptable and customary practices of a reputable shop. What I discovered was a owner/​technician with integrity! Can you believe it?!! Ayham (owner), is the type of person that should be running all private shops in the industry. He’s detail oriented, doesn’t try and upsell you, and is straight forward and honest. It doesn’t matter whether you have a domestic or a European auto, Ayham knows his trade and is more than a competent technician. I don’t trust many techs in the business with my own car, but Ayham will always be the guy to handle any repairs on my vehicle that I can’t or won’t do myself. Thanks Ayham. You are top notch!!!

I highly recommend Zorba for there ethical practice and their fair prices. Ayham goes out of his was with personal service and he even had my car washed before I picked it up! Now top that with your mechanic!

Came to Zorba automotive highly recommended by a friend for my Porsche. It needed some work on the engine. I originally took it to my Porsche dealer. They quoted me $ 1600. I took to another shop and they quoted $ 1300 for the same job. My friend told me to go to Ayham at Zorba as he is specializes in European cars. The service at Zorbas cost me just $ 600 for the same work that was quoted for $ 1600. WOW !! I said. I could not believe it.
They fixed the car and has been running extremely smooth. I’m so happy with their work that I wish to share my satisfaction on Unilocal.

I stumbled upon Zorba Automotive Services when I looked up Mechanics that were close to my office and what a great experience! I took my BMW for an oil change to another shop and found out that that they could not pop my hood. I called another mechanic who automatically suggested to me that I needed to by a new actuator and also told me that he could not get to my car for another few days. So I Unilocaled the closest mechanics and found Zorba’s. Without calling in advance, I stopped by his shop on a Saturday afternoon and although he was working on another vehicle, he took the time to go out and see what was wrong with my car. It took him less than one day to figure it all out without replacing the actuator. He saved me time and money and headache. Ayhem, the owner, is honest, knowledgeable and best of all efficient. The best mechanic experience i have ever had. I will continue to use him and will recommend him to all my friends and family. Great service, and great JOB!

I have nothing but good things to say about Zorba automotive. The owner, Ayham, goes out of his way to accommodate me with scheduling so as not to leave me without wheels. I have been coming to him for things as simple as oil changes, brakes and new tires to things as complicated as restoration of my 1972 international Scout that he treats as if it was his own. It is sometimes hard to find good mechanics you can trust… I can’t say enough good things about this one.
