Atlanta Aquarium

Most amazing collection of corals (outside of the GA aquarium) that I have ever seen… every coral I have purchased here has survived and thrived. Good fish selection, too. Recent improvements only make the trip more exciting

I live in Cumming and I ALWAYS come here. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I had some trouble with my tank and he told his time in explaining to me what I needed and what is better for my fishes. I obviously love this place and will drive miles instead of going to pure reef.

This place is amazing. I’ve never had the actual budget to run a personal saltwater tank, but I have had my feet wet when it comes to freshwater tanks and very much enjoy anything and everything fish and aquascaping related.
It should also be noted this is not the Georgia Aquarium– even if you google Atlanta Aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium will pop up. You have to add pet store to even find their facebook. But yes, Atlanta Aquarium isn’t the Georgia Aquarim and is a store full of tanks, exotic fish, and equipment for all your aquatic hobbiest needs.
The selection here will make you feel really inspired. There are corals, live rock, kits galore, all sorts of gorgeous tropical fish. We just wandered around and studied all they had in stock. From just an onlookers perspective, the whole place seemed well maintained and the fish seemed healthy. They knew what they were doing.
While those unfamiliar with the prices on exotic fish and saltwater equipment might balk in comparison to your standard freshwater species at any other local fish store, AA also seems to offer a few deals through their FB page. May be worth a look if you have a budding saltwater enthusiast or you yourself are looking for something particular. I’d give Atlanta Aquarium a consideration for anyone who is interested in the science and tech behind a Saltwater tank or just to get some inspiration.

Well terrible besides the over population of fish in tanks, there are 6,000 people in in a place that really fits 200… not worth a dime

Wow the fish here are really beautiful… Lot of Nemos… I could stand there all day watching the fish… They have all the exotic variety of fishes here. huge tanks. My wife also liked this place :-) They even supply water for the fish tanks depending on what type you need. salt or fresh. which I thought was really good. You can come in and fill it up yourself and pay per gallon. without having to worry about treating it yourself when you are dealing with exotic and costly fishes. I realized that I saw quite a few of them when I went snorkeling in the Dry tortugas in key west…

Rit has done a great job with this store. He is always welcoming and full of knowledge, especially about corals. I have known Rit many years, even before he opened his store. He was always renowned for his coral knowledge and ability to propagate them. His store and SEA Atlanta are the only two places I will shop in the city for aquarium goods!

Great prices and a wonderful selection of corals and fish. We have never had an issue with any of the items we’ve purchased here. Rit really loves his customers and makes it worth your while on every visit. Every time we stop by, which is about once a week, the store gets bigger and better. They have inventory which includes test kits, water supplements and the various other must haves you need to maintain your saltwater aquarium. We recently made a large purchase of a new protein skimmer which is working out great! The corals Rit offers are vibrant and healthy, which is nice when you dont know how they will adjust to your tank. We’ve never had anything die to any fault of AA. *Ahem! I may have had an acclimation problem in my past*
Its a bit of a drive for us from Midtown but our tank looks more beautiful as each month goes by.
