My mother received exceptional care at Gwinnett Medical Center-​Duluth after falling and fracturing her hip in two places. From the emergency room staff to the orthopedic surgeon and the hospitalists, nurses, respiratory therapists and rehabilitation team, we couldn’t have asked for a more skilled and compassionate group of professionals. After completing a stay at Glancy Rehab Center, she was able to return home. I am so grateful for the care she received at this hospital because I know that without it, she most likely would not have had a chance to be independent again.

I brought my elderly mom there with fever. They got her right to a room and treated her like she was their mom. I never go anywhere else!

Awful experience — will never go back. The Intermediate Floor is one step below ICU. Very sad to think that the care should have been above the care on a regular floor. I wouldn’t subject an animal to the lack of care or concern the staff had at this hospital. The hospital, staff encourages someone to stay with the patient and I found out the reason why they do is so that the nursing staff doesn’t have to do their job. They were so useless and uncaring. Proof that you can’t pay people to care — it’s either in you to care for people or not. Maybe they need to re-​think their career choice. The administration could learn a lot from the staff at Northside Forsyth. They know about care not only for their patients but for their families as well!

Terrible experience!!! Dr. Von (I think that’s her name) was extremely rude and mean to me. I waited for almost 2 hours and I was checked on for 2 minutes and had to wait 30 minutes and still no prescription. Dr. Von was «checking» my injury by applying unnecessary high pressure on my shoulder injury, which caused a ton of pain. I kindly expressed my concern over the waiting time because I was involved in a 3 car accident the day before, she literally guilt tripped me by saying «A 21 year old can be dying right now» and walked out on me. Super rude. I will not be back even I’m dying because I will probably be humiliated before I die anyway.

I would give 0 stars if I really could. Makes absolutely no sense the time of waiting. We were in the waiting room for 4 hours after being told «Oh it should only be a couple of minutes» like 5 times. Safe to say I will never come back here. I rather drive further to get better and quicker service. Especially when it comes to health.

I’ve been here several times before and the slow service and rude workers are always present here. We were in the ER room for 4+ hours just waiting and waiting for the doctor. He would just come and leave and don’t tell us anything! I am not happy with this. I will never be coming back.
The nurses did not check up on us. The doctor comes in and tells us ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We are all so hungry and tired! On the white board where the nurses write down their names and times, one of the nurses has been here the whole time that we came and she’s leaving before us! All we came here for is from pain killers… Terrible terrible terrible…
We even asked the nurse to come in through the speaker and she never did. He needed more pain killers for his broken leg and she never came! Ever! We should’ve just went somewhere else, I know it would’ve NEVER take this long if we did.

Worst service I’ve ever received in my life. My dad was been sitting in the waiting room of this so called emergency clinic for the past 4 hours crying in pain. Slowest ER EVER — they have no sense of urgency at all. ONLY COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO DIE WHILE WAITING, seriously. Very unprofessional and terrible service.

This Hospital is the absolute WORST. Some of the fat uncaring nurses need to work elsewhere but they shuld not be in patient care. I have told everyone let me Die enroute but don’t take me there. Emory Johns Creek has them beat all day. They are professional and caring to everyone that arrives. Gwinnett Medical center Lawrenceville wants to just get rid of you. They are rude they talk about patients amongst each other they are very unprofessional just horrid. These so called Healthcare Professionals are judgemental and down right mean. I will never enter that facility for anything and encourage people not to go there. This is the soul plane of hospitals. How it keeps running is beyond me.

I was recently here for knee surgery. I can’t really comment on the surgery itself since I was out and I didn’t get much debriefing afterwards. What I can say is that the nurses were excellent. Peggy, my preop nurse was wonderful and helped me relax. Tara did a great job with my IV and Olga was great post op. I appreciate their professionalism and attitudes.

Me and my family went through a tough time in our life at this hospital. The nursing staff in intermediate care were very nice mostly. We had one issue with a nurse going on all the time about her hatred for Indian and Asian patients and their families. That was crazy (only way I can put that). I didn’t like how they take incoming patients blood pressure, oxygen level and temperature and ask questions about their visit right there in the emergency waiting room. That is confidential information meant for a triage room.
One issue we faced the whole time was they kept asking if we thought about hospice for my grandma and it wasn’t in the concerned manner. It was as if they wanted us out. Every doctor and nurse would ask. It got out of hand after the third doctor would ask. That was a tough decision to make and they wouldn’t give us even time to think about it calmly.
The hospital itself was very clean and every visitor must check in which i thought was very safe of them. Its reassuring.

I received a terrible call from my daughter Wednesday evening. She was in an ambulance, her boyfriend had been found unconscious and unresponsive. I hauled azz up to GMC to be with her.
I knew when the ER receptionist had the security guard escort me to the «quiet room» that the worst had happened.
Very long story short– during a tragic, horrible experience we were treated so very well. We really felt that everyone went above and beyond to help as much as possible.
The security guard with a quiet demeanor and kind eyes, the wonderful chaplain Martina directing us each step of the way. The nurses reverently quiet, replacing tissues and offering condolences and a Patient Care Rep that had the terrible job of calling this young man’s parents.
They were all so kind and it was very much appreciated. We were all allowed to spend all the time we needed with him and the quiet room was at our disposal.
Thank you GMC for your compassion.

I felt so insulted going here. I wasnt feeling well from a cold and I got to an accident on my way there. I was put right into a room where I sat for over an hr. A PA named Kimberly walker finally came in pulled her self up a chair holding papers and says (what do you want us to do for you today) when I told her my symptoms and meds I was on she then told me I dont look sick and my primary just put me on antibiotics because I wanted them. (I can’t stand takings any meds let alone antibiotics.)
She then checks my thoat and ears saying I have post nasal drip and chest pain is from mucus breaking up. She says she sending me home and will be back with paperwork. She opens the door and I said I was in a car accident too. She says you didn’t tell triage and yes I told every person I was in contact with since I arrived including check in desk. So without even shutting the door she said whats going on with that. I told her I have been nauseous, she says well with all that mucus going down your throat I will be. Then proceeded did you hit your head (no) did you drive your self here did you walk in here on your own (yes). Well you will probably be sore tomorrow and prescribed me Naprosyn didnt even check me for anything. This women has no bed side manner at all. I think I will make a different choice on my ERs I visit in the future.

I just wanna say* Thank You* to all the staff in Day surgery.Dr.Yamagucci did an amazing job. However, Eve really stood out. She loves her job and it show. Eve is one of the Best nurses l’ve ever encounter. Thank for taking care of my Mother. Forever grateful! ! Turner Family

I have given this hospital plenty of time to redeem itself. i even had to turn in a DR. to my insurance he doesn’t work there anymore. Rude staff, and Incompetent Dr’s. Went in for chest pain (by ambulance)… they did do a heart attack work up. wasn’t having that but nothing else was done. no meds, no bed rest nothing. if you want to die come here.

I would not take children there if you are in a emergency situation and can spare a few a more miles to get to Childrens Healthcare hospital. The first ER doc treated me like a nervous mother who was over-​reacting (he had fever of 105) and was unkind to my son and said she had seen babies that are less whiney than him.
He had an acute kidney infection (I brought him back the next day). They are all denying that he was sick enough the first time to have warranted any further investigation it was only about a 6 hour time difference when I brought him back.
I’m was hesitant to write this review because I do not like to speak poorly of people, but I am a little shocked at how they are handling the billing and quite frankly do not want any parents to end up in the emergency room twice in a 24 hour period.
The patient rep that tried to help me was extremely nice and understood my complaint and dId not see as unreasonable and but unfortunately the medical directors on the board overpowered any of his decision making in this case. I was not asking for anything unreasonable, a simple apology and an extremely small portion removed off my bill. The whole situation seems very sad in that their egos have superceded any decency, compassion and mostly importantly logic, towards the situation. I wasn’t rude and I accurately presented the facts of the first experience several times. I am not asking for anything out of the ordinarty based on the facts. They basically sent two «rejection» letters saying that I was «lying» about how my son was treated by the first physicians assistant and he wasn’t «sick enough», only to be whisked away in a Children’s hospital ambulance only 6 hours later due to his symptoms which the same (high fever yellow color etc actually his fever was lower the second time .)
Maybe this is want they want, children to not be brought to their ER. My purpose now is to save any parent the grief and aggravation of trying to have emergency medical attention for your child. Do not bring them here.

I implore you for you &/​or your family’s safety.
I was referred here by my PCP’s office. Once I get here, the doctor on duty pretty much tells me what the doctors office told me was wrong. She wasn’t sure why they told me to come to the ER based on the results that got faxed over. Then she insisted I leave. She actually told me, «you can literally walk right out of here because I don’t want you to get stuck with a $ 5000 bill for nothing.» I found that rather odd. Then once I came back, a male nurse told me it’s my option to leave or stay, but I should leave.
Then a female nurse and the female doctor were bantering back and forth about my blood test results. One said I had lupus, the other said I didn’t. Really??! Then one said I may have diabetes while the other said I don’t. This is very overwhelming.
To make matters worse, once I looked at the info they gave me to have, «just for my records,» it wasn’t even my information. They got another patient’s test results mixed up with mine & was giving me their results. In all my years of living I’ve never experienced anything like this. I definitely am going to go for a second opinion because I feel uneasy about the doctor & a male nurse trying to shove me out the door. I could continue to discredit this hospital with the professionalism that’s missing, but I’m sure it won’t matter.
If I ever need to come to a hospital again, it won’t be this one. I am actually fearful of what’s next as I am still awaiting results for over an hour. I do not trust this place.

I fell down a flight of stairs and my son called the ambulance, they arrived quickly and were very friendly and thorough in getting me loaded into the ambulance. The driver took the long way around which seemed like it took forever to get me to the hospital. When I got there I had to wait for almost an hour to be seen. They took X rays and never gave me anything for the pain. After 7 hours later I was sent home and was told to rest it and take ibuprofen for the pain. The doctor said I would be ok and my knee would be fine. 3 weeks later I was having to get surgery for a torn ACL. Why the hospital didn’t find anything was very odd to the orthopedic surgeon. Thanks to Dr. Craig Mines I am able to get around but the pain is still there.

If I could give them –5 stars I would.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
THE NURSES ARE SO RUDE and IMPATIENT. Two things no nurse should EVER be. I absolutely HATE this place. Second time coming, not for myself but for a friend and for a family member. First of all, the wait takes forever, when they aren’t even busy, because no one likes it here. Second, the RECEPTIONIST and the NURSE (both female and Indian) were YELLING at a GUEST for wanting to be with his wife. The language barrier between them is difficult, BUT no staff member should ever raise their voice at a patient OR guest. This place is just so sad. The receptionist even told the poor man to sit down or she will call security, and when he went to the waiting area she called him annoying to her staff nurse. Save yourself the gas and go elsewhere.

If you are concerned with receiving care and a pleasant customer service after your visit, do not go here. These people are just concerned with billing and receiving their money, and after that process has been done, they throw you out like an old pair of shoes.
I called the other day regarding my bill, because I wasn’t told that they were going to bill outhouse. Anyways, the person I spoke with said, «We have to bill what we bill, and I don’t know what you would like.» They were not friendly at all and super rude.
Please be careful with going here or any other medical health system associated with them. Since it’s such a large system, you do not get personalized care. And no one knows who’s responsible for what since everything is sent elsewhere. There is no health system integration here.

wow I couldnt believe when I read that bad review. I had to have emergency sx here and it and I have only positive things to say about my experience from the moment I stepped into the ER and til I was discharged. I am in the medical field and have worked in several hospitals and this is by far the best I have experienced! The nursing staff was awesome. I never was waiting for anything. my only complaint maybe was noise that was unavoidable and that was because of another pt not because of anything the hospital staff had done.
a simple overnight surgery turned into along stay and the staff there made it bearable…
