Had a great time at the circus, center was nice and clean, employees were nice and helpful, would go back again.

There really isn’t much to the Gwinnett Center. You’re either there for a conference of some sort or another event that may or may not be truly spectacular. Although there is nothing blatantly wrong with this venue, the conferences I have been to in the past year have just been too much for me to really enjoy this spot for any reason. Orange Conference — This is just too many people. Utilizing GC for this conference is not only the hazardous, but it’s completely unnavigable. The congestion from others in the halls, bathrooms, walkways, traffic in the parking lot, etc is just ridiculous. It has given me nothing but«I can’t wait to get the hell out of here» feelings each day. Catalyst Conference — A bit better, but many of the same problems. At least they keep everyone in the main arena and not in the adjacent buildings for anything. That’s where the real problems arise. Definitely not a bad venue at all. Just not my favorite for conferences… of any kind.

I saw the Ringling Brothers Circus here with my 2 young child, and was overall very impressed by the Gwinnett Area. Even with the swarms of children everywhere they got the crowds moved right through in an orderly, and friendly fashion. Usually whenever I go to events like that, with swarms of people everywhere I usually feel overwhelmed by it all, but at this event I was completely at ease, and I credit the wonderful staff there. All the attendants were friendly, and so helpful. I was so impressed with the arenas cleanliness too! I left thinking, I should come to more events here in the future! Thanks Gwinnett Area, you make our gwinnett residents proud!

Such a big place overall! Don’t get the arena mixed up with the performing arts center if you just pull up to the first building. Lol. Um. Yeah. My friend and I just blindly walked up to the first building we saw, and long and behold, we had to drive down the road a tad more for the performing arts center. You can walk since it’s not dreadfully far, but we were late, and it was cold. Lol. This place definitely utilizes the balcony & orchestra seating areas. The orchestra seating area is pretty much just at the sides of the theater along the wall. It’s not a segregated area like I imagined since it was named«orchestra.» Even the way way back seats were not too far from the stage. Overall the performing arts center was cozy. It is a tad small, but that’s a good thing because any seat you choose will provide a good view. This center was perfect for the Peter Pan ballet I saw here. The staff in attendance this one evening was friendly and helpful, and the facility was clean and well kept. Oh. Parking is free! :)

Good venue. Nice large stage, lots of room for crowds and whatnot. Didn’t try any food but there was a good selection of options. Parking was free. Venue was clean, show was a lot of fun, would def visit again!

Great place, only hiccup was the new ticketless was not great but once in the door was terrific and perfect for second row seats at Michael Buble! Friendly staff though, 180 from Georgia Dome and Civic Center who are soon as run you over than to do a job. Food was cheaper than movie theater and actually had flavor — would have like some gourmet options like Chastain, but overall was a great experience!

I was here for the SEC Women’s basketball tournament this week and what a nice arena. First and foremost can I just say how nice it is to have free parking at an arena. It made me not mind so much dropping 4 dollars for water. It also worked well for a tournament setup where you come and go multiple times a day. The parking staff handled traffic very well. They had planned and thought ahead for when the rushes were be and handled it well. Like the teams planning inside the arena, they had a game plan and stuck to it. While I was annoyed one afternoon that I got into the wrong line and ended up having to go right instead of left, I appreciated that getting in and out of the arena was not chaotic. They funneled the traffic very well. There are no bad seats in the arena and the seats are not on top of each other like in other arenas. The rows were comfortable and had ample space between them. I loved that the tournament or the arena(not sure who’s decision it was) decided to do open seating for the first 3 sessions. Last year in Nashville we had assigned seats and it was sort of silly because people come and go to different session dependent on who is playing. I honestly think they could probably have gotten away with open seating for all 7 sessions but that’s just my opinion. They had a lot of varied food options and nothing I ate was bad. Typical arena food but the rest of my experience here totally exceeded my expectations.

I was super happy when they opened this Arena. I’ve seen countless concerts here, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and even a Star Wars Symphony concert. Never a bad seat in the house. Been to a handful of Gladiators games, cheap ticket prices for just as much fun! Plenty of bathrooms for the ladies and the food, is, well, arena food. But with as many restaurants in the area, good food is never far away. Parking is free and getting in and out is truly a breeze. Best venue in Atlanta!!!

The home of the Gwinnett Gladiators ECHL Hockey Team! What a great small arena in the suburbs of Atlanta. What do you want/need in a small arena? Good seats… check; good views from all over the arena… check; good food… well, unusual, but NOTHERE, CHECK! Yes…the food here is actually quite tasty… and does not seem to be the usual arena food. The cheeseburger actually has flavor! I definitely suggest using and enjoying this arena!

Very accessible from I-85 in Gwinnett. Good for the arena football games and great seating for other events that occur. Not as big as Philips but has an atmosphere that brings out the best in the crowd. Good Parking. Would go for more events depending what’s held here! Grade: B

I’ve been here for a few events, most recently a graduation. The foot court was operating at about 20% efficiency, I can understand that with a limited crowd for a special event, they can’t have everything available, but they weren’t fully prepared for what they were trying to do. When graduation was over, about 2,000 people went outside to mingle and all the doors(except one hard to find one) were locked behind us, so you had 2,000 people milling around and two well-hideen hidden toilets to serve that many folks. I guess that’s one way to get people to leave.

Came by today with my students to watch Disney on Ice, Treasure Trove, and had a fantastic time. The staff were very helpful in getting us to our seats, and making sure we knew which way to go and whatnot. We were seated in section 217 – 218, and even from that high, you could see everything PERFECTLY! It’s almost a better view from up top because you could see the entire thing in one view. They had someone out directing traffic and where to park, and made it as painless as possible. Free parking, which was pretty surprising for me. The place is HUGE! Very impressed with the way this place was built, and how easy, painless, and almost effortless they make it for us. :] I look forward to coming back for many more events!

I’ve only been here to see the circus and Gladiators games, not any concerts. 1) There don’t seem to be any bad seats. At both hockey games and the circus, we could see everything really well. 2) Free parking! This was the reason I chose to go to Gwinnett to see the circus over going to Phillips. Parking is such a pain there. It’s considerably easier to contend with here and again, it’s free. 3) There is plenty of legroom. 4) No waits for the bathrooms. So, if everything is so good, then why did I give it only 3 stars? The price of concessions. I know that this is expected because you’re held hostage and they charge you through the nose because they can, but bottles of water were $ 4! And these were not big bottles. These were your standard 20 oz bottles that normally cost $ 1.30 at the store. Although I didn’t get any food, it looked like your regular crappy hot dogs, pizza and what not. I just hate how places charge so much for things like this. The markup is RIDICULOUS.

I’ve been to Gwinnett Center four times in the past year and a half. Each visit was for a different reason: 1. JapanFest 2. Parking pick-up and drop-off point for the PGA Championship 3. Georgia Tech men’s basketball game 4. Gwinnett Gladiators hockey game Gwinnett Center is big. I’ve been in the Performing Arts Center, Convention Center, and The Arena. The only part I haven’t been to is the Hudgens Center for the Arts. Gwinnett Center is easy to get to. It’s just off Exit 108 — Sugarloaf Parkway from I-85. The best thing about Gwinnett Center is that parking is free, no matter what the event, be it a convention, festival, play, sporting event, or music concert. That’s almost unheard of for most major event facilities. I give this facility an extra star just for that. 1. JapanFest JapanFest used to be held at Stone Mountain, but in recent years has moved to Gwinnett Center. This is an early Fall festival that promotes Japanese art and culture.(You can read my JapanFest review here: ) JapanFest makes use of both the Performing Arts Center and the Convention Center. The music and dance performances(e.g. classical Japanese dance and taiko drumming) take place on stage at the Performing Arts Center. Rooms at the Convention Center are used for various purposes whether it’s for vendors to sell their wares, calligraphy workshops, or even kimono design and construction. Finally, the bigger ballrooms and halls are reserved for other performances such as archery and karate and for the large Japanese food court. All in all, I think the Center works great for this festival. 2. PGA Championship For the 2011PGA Championship, which took place at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, the Gwinnett Center parking lot served as a free parking lot for fans attending the tournament. Shuttle buses would constantly come and go, delivering fans to and from the golf course. The entire process from parking to shuttling was organized and efficient. As soon as I stepped out of my car, I was on a shuttle bound for AAC in no time. Excellent. 3. Georgia Tech men’s basketball game For the 2011-12 season, Georgia Tech’s men’s and women’s basketball teams’ home, Alexander Memorial Coliseum, is undergoing a $ 40 million renovation and being transformed into the new McCamish Pavilion(to be open later in 2012). The Arena at Gwinnett Center served as the temporary home for the Jackets during construction of the new on-campus arena. For basketball games, The Arena can hold roughly 13,000 fans. Five of the men’s games were held at Gwinnett(the rest of the home games are held at Philips Arena). About 2,000 to 3,000 fans showed up for each of the games. It was obvious the The Arena at Gwinnett is not a facility optimized for basketball because on either end of the court, behind the basket, there was a lot of open space before the first row of seating. This forced everyone to sit close to center court, either in front of or behind the team benches. All tickets were general admission, which meant people could sit wherever they wanted. The view from the center court seats was not bad. The seats were relatively snug and there was not a lot of walking room between rows. There were cupholders on the back of the seats in front of us, which was nice. The Arena at Gwinnett was built in 2003, but it doesn’t look like it in some areas. The concourse area is nice. Wide open, clean, and carpeted. Only a couple of the concession stands were open for Tech games. I thought the biggest flaws were the giant widescreen TV displays on either end of the arena. They were tiny! Even AMC’s old-school 4:3 JumboTron displays were bigger than Gwinnett’s 16:9 displays. 4. Gwinnett Gladiators hockey game The Arena at Gwinnett is the home of the Gwinnett Gladiators, EHCL hockey team. The arena is better designed for hockey games because the hockey rink is bigger than the basketball court, so the space on the floor is filled all the way to the first row of seats at either end behind the goals. I went to see the Gladiators take on the Florida Everblades just before the new year. Seating capacity and attendance was almost identical to the Tech basketball game I went to earlier in the month. However, more concession stands were open and there was more in-arena entertainment — to be expected since this is the permanent facility for the Gladiators as opposed to a temporary home for the Jackets. The folks at Gwinnett Center still need to do something about the tiny screens inside the arena. We sat in one of the end zones. Whenever something interesting happened on the screen, the fans in our section would turn around and crane their necks to see the screen above instead of looking forward at the tiny screen across the arena. That’s not how it’s supposed to be! If you go to a Gladiators game, order tickets in the«Attack Twice» section. You’ll see more exciting action that way.

I’ve always said that I enjoy the Gwinnett Center better than places like Phillips. Parking is plentiful and free Food and drink can be snagged for under $ 10 Practically no lines for restrooms great leg room for seats very well kept building that’s very clean. Truly helpful and friendly staff affordable tickets(most hockey tickets are $ 20)! With that said, whenever I come here to watch the Gwinnett Gladiators play, the crowds are never even half way full, which is awesome in a way, because you can stretch out, but unfortunate because you wonder how this building is paying the bills. I love this place and for sure will be back.

I think this is a great venue for concerts and sporting events. I have seen two concerts here — Carole King/James Taylor, and Paul Simon — and a basketball game and was impressed with this facility on each occasion. Parking at the events I attended was free and the lot was easy to enter and exit — nothing like the nightmares of Phillips Arena or the Fox. The acoustics were decent — not as good as a smaller venue but adequate. As for the concessions — I don’t get too worked up about that as I go for events not stadium concessions. I am much more inclined to attend a concert at this venue that just about any other place in town.

We had a wonderful time here. It was our first show at this venue, and we purchased parking passes with our tickets and it was a breeze! The lots were labeled clearly and there was plenty of space between cars — not cramped like they tend to be at other venues. The food and drinks were pricey. We paid $ 21 for two beers and a hot dog, but really, what else do you expect at these places? They’re never cheap! I’ve come to be prepared for that. The staff was friendly, the grounds were very clean and well kept, and we were especially impressed that they were giving out free cups of water and refilling bottles during a break in the show. I hope more of my favorite acts make a stop here.
