Micro Center

Second time buying a refurbished computer from Micro center. The first time worked out well with a relatively inexpensive machine that lasted for over five years. Not so much the second time — the machine didn’t work. Kudos to Micro Center for taking it, and the Microsoft Office card, back with no questions asked (other than asking what was wrong with the machine). The return took all of two minutes. Excellent.
Lot of cool stuff in the store, although no FM radios, one thing I was looking for. I guess everybody streams these days. In an age where brick & mortar stores seem to be degrading (I’m looking at you, Fry’s), this Micro Center outlet still seems well-​stocked and current.
Good customer service when buying the computer. The sales person went through their refurbished inventory with me and pointed out the plusses and minuses of each machine I expressed an interest in. Had the machine I bought actually worked, I probably would have been happy with it.

I love microcenter. This location is way better than the Marietta location with stock and customer service. Gwinnett location is right across Atlanta Toyota and in the same shopping center where checkers and krispy kreme. This isn’t a best buy or frys. This location is small very easy to shop around you don’t have have a map or mall directory .
This is the place to go if you are buying computer parts, accessories, tablets, laptops or printers. They have weekly flyers with super low deals on everything in store. I have bought all my laptops here for the past 10 years. They also price match from major online retailers except Amazon. Online you can check the store’s current inventory on a specific item and order it online and pick it up in store in minutes.
Service is ok. Low pressure sales. If look lost a staff is nearby to assist you. Return policy is very flexible. I was able to return many items with no questions. They offer onsite technical support and repairs on electronics. Weekend are always busy.

They have the lowest price on laptops.
Even tabs are very low too.

Recently tried the online order/​pick up and it was fast and convenient.

Workers are delightfully helpful and each greets you if you need help. When I went in to buy a laptop, they asked exactly what I wanted, whether it be brand or price range. The worker in particular was very nice and I found it easy to speak to them without feeling strange or shy in anyway. Ever since this experience, I’ve gone here as my main tech shop.

Best prices anywhere on processors and motherboards! Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and helpful, especially Windle. That guy knows his stuff and is awesome to deal with. Thanks Windle!

I just had the worst experience at one of the Micro Center stores​. I placed an online order for a new Macbook Pro list price of $ 1679. Having done a significant amount of business with Micro Center in the past I decided to order online for pickup. When I arrived at the store I was rudely told by one of the managers at the customer service desk that there was no order for me in the system.
After showing her the conformation email I received about my order being ready for pickup, she went to the back to search for it. A few minutes later she returns with a old and dirty looking Macbook Pro box and immediately informed her that I placed an order for a new computer and not an open box. She continued to be rude and open the box of the computer to tell me that it was not an open box that it was in fact a new computer, although there was not shrink wrap on the box indicating its newness. After she opened the box the computer charger was also missing. I was totally outraged this is now how business should be conducted. I continued to inquire to her, where the new machine that I had ordered was and she insisted that this old computer was the last of this particular Pro model they had.
She called one of the other store employee form the Apple computers department. He turned out to be equally as rude and disrespectful as his collegue about my situation, and this locations lack of transparency. Only after I inquired if they could do anything else for me in regards to finding me a new computer did they offer to discounted the beat up open box by 10% and throw in a FREE charger! The unit was suppose to come with a charger.
After more attitude from these employees I left the store without purchasing anything and I went to Best Buy were the customer service is always excellent I have been a long time customer of Micro Center, because I buy parts to build and repair computers, I find that I can no longer support such a mediocre company and one who disregards the notion of good customer service. I will not be shopping here anymore and I will tell all of my friends in IT to avoid this place as well. Your company should be ashamed of this behavior and complete apathy for integrity and respect. As a former Apple employee I hope that Apple will soon refuse to supply Micro Center with its products, because Micro Center will only disgrace the Apple creed and brand.

I used to think Fry’s was superior to Micro Center but after several years of using both stores pretty extensively I have to give my preferred nod to MicroCenter. Here’s why. Prices are generally better (they do price match as well, but their prices are usually just as good if not better than online prices for the most part), store is very organized and small enough that you can pretty much easily navigate to parts that you need, and their selection is somewhat simpler and dare i say, better.
The customer service here is very good. The returns, exchanges, customer service center is simple, friendly, and very efficient as well. The one gripe i do have is that when they can get pretty busy, the lines can get pretty long pretty fast and sometimes they do not have enough cashiers to make the line run super duper fast. That being said, the lines are fast enough and I can not dock any stars for that. They have a dedicated apple products selection in the back corner of the store for all the apple iphone ipad and mac users, but I feel their store is more geared towards PC users. yay! =]
From Ram, Hard Drives, Cooling fans, CPU’s, Desktop Cases, monitors, TV’s, printers, USB cables, Printer cables, HDMI Cables, LAN Cat 5E and 6e cables, modems, routers, switches, extenders to crimps, tools, tablets, smart phones, sd cards, micro sd cards (good for us google android samsung galaxy smart phone users), screen protectors, sound cards, and graphic cards these guys pretty much have you covered. I recommend them to all the computer nerds and geeks out there as well as the non tech savvy individuals for an excellent computer, tv, tablet gizmo gadget galore experience overall.
Lastly, at Fry’s i’m lucky if i can be in and out within 20 – 40 minutes because of their sheer gargantuan of a store size (Fry’s is pretty much a warehouse/​sam’s club of computer parts) where as at Micro Center i can pretty easily and effectively be in and out within 5 – 10 minutes with part (s) needed in hand. Hard to beat that folks.

By far the friendlier and better version of bigger giants like best buy. The salesmen and saleswomen of this place know their electronics better than most of their counterparts in other stores. Prices are fair, items are fairly well stocked in quantity and variance (damn they don’t have seasonic products unfortunately) and they are amazing on their warranty service. Which entitles you to store credit on a 1, 2, 3 year term when your item fails. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ go out of your way to this particular store, I don’t find the Marietta location as great as this one. The guys are the do it yourself/​build a pc section are doing God’s work.

This is the best place for all computer and electronic devices that you would need. Great prices and friendly staff. Store is clean and well maintained. Clearance items are a good way to save money.

Bought a computer here, and gave me FAN issue in less than 1 week. I travel from time to time from Washington State to Atlanta, and it’s been the biggest PAIN. I called the maanger and he is asking me to go get a compressed air and blow my computer with it. Why do I have to do all this for a computer that I bought a week ago?

All I can say is my experience with the Duluth Micro Center store was Awesome.
My sales person Nasir Uddin was very knowledgelable. When I requested the most computer for the least amount of money he took me directly to the computer (a clearance model and a new 27 # monitor. I did not realize that if I purchased a clearnce out of the box I did not get Windows * start up or reboot disck. However when I took my machine back for help with a Malware Virus Tech Ron Mous was in constant contact with me about the issues with my machine. k
When I reviewed my problem with the Operations Manager Rick Thomason he authorized for the reinstall of the Windows 8 programs, gave me a Windows 8 back up disk. Which Rick (OPM) DID NOT have to do. Rick Thomason had the tech Ron Mous, reinstall my data ALL for NO charge to me, the customer. Everyone I contacted a Micro Center brought a smile to my face. Please check them out if you need a new or used computer or service. Their prices cannot be beat Plus you get great service and customer support from the Micro Center team.

This review is for the computer repair operation only. I think others will have better luck on the retail side. I stood in line for 20 minutes only to be told that they were too busy to switch out a keyboard on my laptop and if I could bring it back in 4 days. Also, I would have to leave my laptop for 2 – 3 days. Are they kidding me? Also the customer in front of me was upset. She had an email with her saying her computer was ready but they told her sorry, that she must have gotten that by mistake and it would be ready later that day. She said she drove out a long way but the clerk basically gave her a look that said, «too bad.»

After a terrible experience at the Marietta location, I decided to make my return/​exchange in Gwinnett. And trust me Gwinnett is NOT convenient. My friend, Mike, insisted that the staff up there is smarter, more patient, and better informed and I would not have the same issues with them. So to north bumble (for me) I trekked.
I went to the Customer Service counter and explained the situation and the bad experience and told them what I needed. Armed with a print out from
(I was buying memory), the young woman took me to Vincent. I talked through my needs, what I was trying to do (for someone else) and he quickly realized that I knew what I was doing and talking about so he knew he didn’t need to talk down to me.
We talked through all of my options, what would be best (and most cost effective) and made a decision. He could have easily cost me, at minimum, $ 100 more for what I originally thought I would need. Vincent put me at ease explaining that the computer would run beautifully with half the memory I was expecting to buy.
That is what Customer Service is all about — and I should know — it’s what I do.
Bravo Micro Center Gwinnett and Vincent. Now go teach the guys in Marietta how to do business.

Why does this place have an average 3-​star rating? Blasphemy, I say!
In my opinion, Micro Center (especially when you compare it to the few electronics store that are struggling to survive) has the best customer service, highest quality, and lowest prices. What else do you want when you buy something that is most likely going to offer you amazing entertainment?
I have gotten PCs, laptops, and an iPad here, as well as numerous software and accessories. I have even gotten the occasional bag of Sour Patch Kids. This shows how frequently I shop here.
Don’t sleep outside the Apple store when they release something new. Go to Micro Center and possibly even save a few bucks. You’ll love me for this advice. I love myself for it.

Micro Center is consistently the best quality, lowest priced electronics store I’ve found, hands down.
I’ve know about Micro Center for a few years now, and felt positively towards it since it began offering free USB flash drives or memory cards in weekend newspaper inserts. After we were initially lured into the store by free digital storage space, I realized they really do have a wide variety of products for good prices.
They do this by offering refurbished products alongside new, selling floor models, and carrying a pretty wide array of products inside a relatively small floor space.
My latest foray involved searching for a new laptop, and surprisingly, the salesman I interacted with turned out to be more helpful than overbearing and hard-​selling. Upon entrance I truly didn’t really know what I needed, but did have a few specifics and a general price range.
After talking with him and him recommending various models and highlighting their features and benefits, I came away with a much better idea of what I needed and wanted. I didn’t end up purchasing anything that night — I’m not an impulse buyer by nature and prefer to mull over my decisions and shop around, but I think this weekend I’ll probably pull the trigger and go back for a model he pointed me towards after assessing my needs and requirements.
And I know from previous experiences of my own and of my friends that Micro Center is consistently well priced, helpful after the sale, and delivers quality products. I’m a fan.

Worst customer service in the world! I would never recommend anyone to build a computer here. We have had our computer for less than 7 months and it just would not power on. For them just to look at the computer there is a 7 day wait… Just to look at it! The 1700 $ computer is not under warranty either. The guy at the service area was so rude I couldn’t even believe it. I told the operations manager and he really did not seem too concerned with his employees lack of service and extreme attitude. I would never go back and I do not recommend anyone to build a computer here.

Stores like this where the salespeople are high-​pressure and clearly working for a commission always make me uncomfortable. I always try to avoid this store whenever I can.
About a year ago, I came in here looking for a thumb drive, and had already found the one I wanted by the time a salesman walked over to help. «No thanks, I already found this thumb drive and that’s all I’m going to – » and without even letting me finish, the salesman slaps a sticker on the thumb drive in my hand and walks away.
I put that stickered one back on the shelf and got another one. I’m not letting some guy make a commission for finding me too late! Ugh.
I came here again last week because, after checking three other stores nearby, I couldn’t find a simple flatbed scanner for cheap. I really was trying to avoid this store, but my boyfriend insisted that we try Micro Center. I had a particular model of scanner in mind, and lo and behold, as soon as I walked in here, it was literally the first thing I saw when I walked in the door, which I was thankful for because, again, we didn’t have to deal with skeezy salesfolk.
It’s also super creepy how they try to keep your address and credit card data on file. I almost never carry cash, but I use it at this store.
If you’re building your own computer, they have everything you need, but the store is messy and disorganized. Try Fry’s first or shop online.

I’m glad I live near this place. They offer a lot of things that you can usually only online because places like Best Buy only carry a limited expensive selection. While some of the things they sell are cheap or aren’t a name brand a lot of it are things where brands don’t matter, especially when you need computer parts or cables.
I don’t like how their commission based employees slap their little stickers on everything hoping to earn a buck regardless if they actually helped you.
Word of advice, always run across the street to Fry’s Electronics to price/​product compare. Both stores compete with prices and selection.
