Sheraton Duluth Hotel

This place was great! Very dog friendly and they gave us an upgrade on our room as we had a dog and had a super friendly staff! Dogs are kept on the first three floors so others that are not «dog people» can be on floors without them.
The rooms were very well done and clean, great beds with high thread count sheets, great pillows and down comforters. Towels were plush and bathrooms large.
Location was awesome. 5 min walk to Lake Superior shore and walking trail. Close to many nice restaurants, shops and bars. Right across street from Duluth Trading Co!
Parking was attached by skyway. A bit of a walk (5 min) but covered and free. Even the cleaning staff was super friendly.
Who ever is managing this place knows how to treat their staff and customers! A++++++++

Great staff, well kept hotel, liked it… except for the Internet. Spotty, slow, not good for those of us who need business connections. Cost this place s star — and another visit from me until they improve their connectivity.

Totally not worth the price. This one was the worst. They will let you wait one and half hour to check in. And no person will let you know when the room is finally ready. What kind of service this is! I feel so regret that I booked this Sheraton!

Friendly service, room for the most part was clean but the bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. Wifi did not work on laptop or iPhone, pretty disappointed. Overall a decent stay but way overpriced. City view was 250.

This is a great pet-​friendly hotel in downtown Duluth. Be sure to pay for a room with a view… it’s worth it. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean, the staff were friendly and had treats for our pooch, the room service food is very good as well. Would definitely stay again if we are in Duluth!

Stayed here for a night before a flight out of MSP. Great hotel in Duluth. Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy beds, nice pool and hot tub. Great location near the lake. I will stay here again.

My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 nights during a business/​pleasure trip and we’re glad that we did! This is the nicest hotel in Downtown Duluth and I can say this because we have been visiting this city for many years and have stayed in all the other downtown hotels. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bar and restaurant were awesome. The location is close to the Lake. What’s not to like about this place? The only minor problem involves parking. It’s quite a hike from the parking garage to the hotel but parking is free with ticket validation at the front desk. We’ll be back to Duluth often and, whenever we’re in town, we’ll stay at this hotel.

Let me just start out by saying that the excellent employees are what truly drives this review toward the five-​star rating.
From our arrival at the hotel and throughout the entirety of our visit, my party and I (4 of us in all) receive respectful, friendly and most of all, professional service. All members of the staff were impeccably dressed and groomed, were smiling and willing to be of assistance and always said hello.
The hotel is located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Although it is not directly on Lake Superior, the lake side rooms provide a beautiful view of sunrise. The one disappointing issue we found with the hotel was the parking situation. It is necessary to park in a ramp, walk through a sky way, take on elevator to the lobby, walk across the lobby and then take another elevator up to our room. However, considering the size and the narrow streets of Duluth, we were just happy to have off-​street parking!
The public areas including the lounge, bar, front desk, pool/​hot tub, elevators, rooms and hallways were clean, well-​lit and comfortable. One of the worst experiences in a hotel can be the beds… but not here. It was like sleeping on a cloud with fluffy pillows, multiple layers of linens and clean sheets. There were also plenty of towels for our entire group.
Shortly after arriving, we discovered there was a slight miscommunication about our reservations. While I won’t discuss the exact nature of the issue, suffice it to say that the manager, Ryan, provided us with an acceptable alternative, apologized profusely, and offered other «perks» for our trouble. I was satisfied to accept a reduced rate on our room (which was given to us); however, Ryan was not. Shortly after we agreed on the room rate, we heard a knock at the door. There, we were presented with ice cold milk and warm, gooey chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, along with an apology note. So unnecessary, but so appreciated!
As I stated at the beginning, the staff truly made our stay an amazing one and I would absolutely recommend this hotel and/​or stay here on my next trip.

While in Duluth once a year on business, I always stay here. Well apportioned, clean rooms with a nice staff. Gym, pool & hot tub are a big plus. The restaurant is actually very good, and Josh the bartender is super-​friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is right in downtown, close to pretty much everywhere you need to go. There’s a shuttle with a friendly driver that takes you wherever, so you don’t need to hassle with taxis.
Note: if you require a HDMI input on the television for any media devices, only the sixth floor (club floor) rooms have them.

I can’t say anything negative about my experience here. The rooms were impeccably clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the fitness center and access to validated parking through a ramp to the adjacent garage. The location was unbeatable too, especially over the July 4^th holiday. Service was prompt and friendly; I needed a fridge in my room and it was quickly brought over. I will definitely be staying here next time I am in Duluth.

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, relatively new, and centrally located. Attentive staff that does a good job of doling out the goodies to SPG. Validated parking, walking distance to everything in the area you’d want to see.

Stayed here for a night after a wedding that was up at Larsmont. Liked the location, the staff were friendly, the view from our lake-​facing window was awesome, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom doors were a bit on the odd side and didn’t make the bathing or pooping experiences as private as one hopes that they would be, but that’s a minor quibble. A quibble of a more significant size is the location of their parking, which feels like it might be several miles from the hotel when you’re walking to or from the hotel with your bags. I recommend, if you are able, to drop off all luggage and as many peeps as you can at the door and send the driver off to Guam to find the parking. Upon their return they will need proper hydration and a bit of time to rest. Send that poor soul off to fetch the car when the time comes and load up from the doors of the hotel upon departure. Parking is complimentary at least, so that is something that you can ruminate on and appreciate as you walk. Paid wi-​fi in hotels that charge as much as this one is super-​lame, but I know these mega-​chains are not going to change, so no use in griping about it. I would stay here again.

Rooms are great. Help is wonderful. Location couldn’t be better. We go here every year and it keeps getting better and better.

From my recent visit to Duluth, I’ve learned two valuable lessons:
First, visiting Duluth in January is apparently a bad idea unless you have a sadistic nature and like to watch your own ass get frozen into a popsicle for fun (in that case, start your own TV show – I promise I’ll watch)
Second, visiting Duluth in the same hotel as the junior hockey stars in January makes for a rotten dingoberry on top of your already horrifyingly cold experience.
Despite the pessimistic sounding intro of my review, I still warrant Sheraton Duluth a shiny 4-​star rating for my experience. The inviting elegance of the hotel complemented well with the excellent service from the staffs. I came here strictly on a business trip and scored a room for only a hundred bucks a night. As expected of a Sheraton, my room was impeccably clean and stylishly decorated. If it wasn’t for the loud kids and their parents, I would’ve been MUCH more satisfied with my stay.
Another room for improvement is in their transportation staffs. For some reason, the drivers I’ve seen weren’t that nice or professional in their mannerism. I felt as if I was being driven around in a school bus rather than a paid service. In any case, I would go and stay there again on a weekend when there’s no kiddie tournament.

Really nice, comfortable, quiet hotel!
The free parking was great and the location really can’t be beat, downtown and near great restaurants and shops. There’s also a continental breakfast and snacks in the club room that can be purchased for an additional fee at booking, but unless you’re in a big hurry in the morning, I wouldn’t recommend it. The snacks and breakfast food were pretty sub-​par, other than the fresh fruit.
Best moment of my stay: calling to ask where I could buy deodorant (mine was forgotten). In less than 5 minutes, I had a half stick of Speed Stick delivered to my door, free of charge!

I booked lodging in Duluth for an interview at $ 99/​night. This hotel is definitely very nice and clean with some good amenities. My only disappointment is that Wi-​Fi is not free and costs $ 5 a day. For cheaper hotels I’ve stayed in, Wi-​Fi was free so I don’t know why the Sheraton can’t get with the program and provide free Wi-​fi to all the roomed guests. Even though there is a business station with free access to internet in the lobby as well as a printing station complimentary to guests, the usage time is limited as there are other guests. Breakfast is not free, however there is a gym available. Lots of restaurants surround the hotel so it’s not exactly void of good eats, but it may definitely be absent of a good night life. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, blow dryer, iron and board, and Starbucks coffee are available in the room.

Easily the nicest hotel in downtown Duluth, and perhaps the whole city. Top of the heap for business travelers.
First off let me admit that I am big into clean, fresh and new — this hotel is all of those and not many in Duluth are. So my 4 stars are relative to the other offerings in town.
Staff was very pro, going out of their way to provide great service, and on one occasion offering me a better $$ deal so that I didn’t go elsewhere. Location is good unless you have to be right on the water, adjacent to the lake walk you are literally a 5 minute walk to the shore. Several good restaurants along Superior Street and just minutes away from the Canal Park complex.
Parking is free, albeit a bit cumbersome to get to as noted in other reviews. The only true negative I experienced is that the hotel is not connected to the extensive skywalk network of hamster tubes that runs through most of downtown, so during the winter months you have to brave the elements.
This property has become my go-​to place for housing business visitors and out of town guests.

Bottom line, best business class hotel in Duluth.
Modern, pool, easy access to downtown.
Don’t plan on eating here… food is average and there are much better options in the area.

Wonderful Starwood property with an amazing location!
We had a quick one-​night stay here. I used SPG points for a free stay, since the rate was $ 150+ for the night.
As a platinum traveling with my parents, we opted for a «suite» with double beds and a sofa w/​pull-​out bed. Unfortunately this was on the non-​lake side, but it was still a slightly larger room than the average guest room. We weren’t too picky, but I would never call that room a suite — — more like a deluxe room.
The room itself was in flawless shape… still looked brand new! Comfortable beds, the sofa bed was not too comfortable (but few are)…
There was always plenty of staff on hand, and they were always super friendly!
Club Lounge was open for breakfast from 7:00am to 9:30am and for hors’ doeuvres from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Dry breakfast with some cereal and a few pastries, appetizers were more like crackers, cheese, and some cookies. The club lounge is on the side of the building, so it had somewhat limited lake views.
Parking complimentary — — always nice. But you have to go through a couple elevators, walk through the sweltering skywalk, and then back through to get to your car. (I was alright with it… but somewhat cumbersome.)
The location could not have been better! Plus this town is so walkable — — we walked everywhere! It was great to be staying right in the heart of town.
I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Duluth! (Unless it was a Starwood property of course…)

What a stupendous hotel right in the heart of Duluth!
Complimentary parking, decent rates, pet-​friendly at no extra cost, nice pool and spa, and walking distance from much of the area attractions and restaurants. The beds are extremely comfortable, one side has great views of the lake, the bathrooms are spacious, showers are more than comfortable, and each room has a large flat-​screen television.
FYI… parking is found in the enormous parking structure behind the hotel, accessible from 1^st Street. Take a green ticket to enter, and park in a none-​hourly parking space (2^nd level, I think). There is a sky-​way connecting to the hotel, and once you check in your room keys get you in’n’out of the lot.
