I’ll tell you this… most people are reviewing the Forest Hills Gavigan’s but I’m going to review the one located on Holabird Ave. The cloth furniture that my mother ordered a couple of years ago and the furniture I purchased a couply of years ago — lasted and is still lasting without tear. Yes, I agree that Gavigan’s holds signs for the business«going under» but that’s because many Gavigans have failed and gone under. I don’t know the company’s situation… so I’m not going to assume they aren’t or are actually struggling financially. So this is what I can say, I went in for a sofa purchase recently — of course, the salesman was doing his thang… trying to sell me more than what I wanted and/or more expensive than what I wanted but I shut that down real quick! Went in one week to see the sofa I wanted was $ 1100. Went back in two weeks later and it was marked down to $ 918. Remember they always mark up their furniture… so don’t be afraid to negotiate, even if the furniture is within your budget. Then I was offered the black friday deal and got the sofa for $ 683… That’s half the original price! Again, REMEMBERTHEMARKUPOFFURNITURE and DONOT be afraid to negotiate. Good luck shoppers!

This review is for the FORESTHILL store — if there was a way to provide a NEGATIVE star rating, I would. I don’t even want to spend time on this posting but I feel I need to get the word out: DON’T BUYUNLESSYOU’REREADYFORCRAPPYCUSTOMERSERVICEAFTERPURCHASE! Not only have they sold us crap furniture, that split and does not work properly after 1 month of purchase — they have used delay tactics and now flat out told us they will not fix anything. We were unhappy with this, but were trying to find a way to get our furniture fixed, so we called multiple times and spoke with the store manager/clerks, etc. During our last phone conversation, we were handed over to ROB(first name only give, but from reading other reviews on this site, it sounds like it was Rob Gavigan himsef because he was completely belligerent with us as well) — who was rude and offensive from the time he got on the line. He said he was sick of hearing from us and that they will not fix our problem. He used used a lot of profanities, and insults to get us on our way. At that point, we decided it was time to hang up. If you’re considering buying something from this store: GOODLUCK! I hope it works otherwise you will be completely degraded if you need their help after you purchase their products.

Ugliest furniture I’ve EVER seen. And overpriced too… If you’re under 50 and have even the slightest bit of taste you’re not going to like this place

You guys have some poor guy holding your«Final going out of business sale!» sign on Merritt Blvd. all day… You have been going out of business every few months for 20 years… Nothing more annoying then fake going out of business sales.
