Can I give a 0 star review? DO NOT BUY A MAZDA HERE, DO NOT USE FREE OIL CHANGES, STAY AWAY!
First time I visited, they undercut my trade significantly, quoted me MSRP, and said there’s not much room for negotiations since the CX-​5 is such a popular car! Finally got a call saying they might have a deal for me, came close, but still a rip off.
After a week of games, I finally talked to a manager who could actually make a deal. But even he played the game! The commercials and the website was offering .9% financing for 36 mos, but they were only offering 3.5%, asked for a better deal and he said that’s all they were offering. Pulled up the webpage and showed him the print out of their site and finally got the deal. Luckily I was smart enough to visit 3 more respectful dealerships for quotes on my trade and reluctantly Thompson barely met the other dealers who were men (and women) about making a deal.
Finally, I got the car I wanted for the price I wanted, but only because I was willing to play hardball and I knew both the fair value of the car as well as my trade and I wasn’t about to compromise. I also had to wait it out!
As far as service is concerned, don’t come here! I asked for a roof rack, they installed a trailer hitch. I asked for full synthetic, they gave me a mix of the worst oil I have ever put in my car. Mileage tanked so I pulled it out and put my own in! Much better now.
Plain and simple, if you know what you’re doing, you won’t buy a car from Thompson… they prey on the inexperienced and uneducated car buyer and get really angry and unprofessional when you actually know what you want and what you expect from a dealership!

Don’t buy a Mazda here. I have brought my 2014 3 here twice for oil changes just so that the stealership can keep tabs on my car and have goodwill with the stealership for warantee. Each time I’ve had oil done my gas mileage drastically tanked and I was forced to suck out the junk oil through my oil dipstick opening. The oil itself didn’t look right with only 300 miles on it. I sucked that junk out and poured in a 0W20 from Subaru, which was for my previous Subaru. I had the instantaneous torque back and the MPG was bad to normal. Free oil changes at this stealership come with a catch… Cheap garbage oil that isn’t up to Mazda’s specs. I’m happy to say that I traded this SkyActiv junk in for a VW TDi Golf which has a cast iron engine block and it gets 46/​50mpg on steady highway throttle. Mazda’s are rust bucket JUNK

I made an appointment to take my car to Thompson Mazda on a Monday morning at 7:30 and overall it was a decent experience. The service area was fairly easy to find and I didn’t have to wait to get checked in. The service advisor at the desk didn’t seem to encourage me waiting for my car, even though online I indicated that I planned to wait. He said it would be at least an hour until someone looked at it, so I was a bit put off initially. There was coffee, which was perfect for a Monday morning and as I waited for my car I could watch the Today show on TV. I waited for about an hour and then my car was ready. The price for service was reasonable and the check out process was smooth.
I’ll most likely take my car back to Thompson Mazda in the future. The service isn’t the most friendly, but they get the job done at a decent price.

Recently I was in an auto accident and the insurance recommended going to Thompson Automotive. Which I have never used a standard dealer for body repair. I must say they were absolutely amazing! The staff was super friendly and super accommodating. They made the arrangements for the rental car which was great and super easy. My only note was that originally my car was scheduled to be ready for Wednesday they called me Tuesday to let me know it wouldn’t be ready till Friday or Saturday. I called on Friday and they said your car has been ready since Wednesday :-O. Um huh? So I was a little confused and they swore they called and left a message? Well with whom I am not sure but it def. wasn’t with me. Anyways the car got picked up and the work was absolutely amazing. My car looks brand new (from the back) so for any other damage I will happily bring it back to them!

Typical dealer tactics.

After 11 years of driving my poor 1990 Honda Civic, I reluctantly accepted that I needed to buy a new car. I worked with and visited about 8 – 10 car dealerships before settling on the car I wanted and trying to work out a price. After getting very frustrated looking for the model I wanted in the color I wanted (a blue 2011 or 2012 Mazda2 Sport with manual transmission… who knew it would be so hard to find a blue car??) and then being overwhelmed by the price other dealerships were offering, I saw a TV commercial for the website
and thought I’d give it a try. One of the suggested dealerships with the lowest offered price was Thompson, so I contacted them to see if they could find the model and color I wanted, and to see whether they would give the price that
said they would. To my great surprise (after haggling with several dealerships and getting nowhere) they actually did. Before I even came into the dealership, they actually EMAILED me EXACTLY what I’d be paying for the car, spelling out the taxes, fees, and eventual interest for the interest rate I’d be most likely to get. Most other dealerships wouldn’t even quote me a price over the phone before I came in to see them, let alone in writing… they’d just tell me that the best deals were available once I was actually in the showroom (which required several exhausting trips out to distant dealerships… without a car).
Basically, Thompson Mazda was the only dealership able to get me the car I wanted at the price I wanted. They went out of their way to make the car buying experience as simple for me as absolutely possible, including being there on a Sunday for me to pick up the car and sign the paperwork, even though the dealership was closed. Also, the salesman had all of the paperwork ready to go for me, I didn’t even have to go through the dreaded finance department… and they never tried to talk me into any extras or extended warranties I didn’t want. They even took a post-​dated check since the funds hadn’t yet been transferred into my bank account for the down payment. (They did accidentally deposit the check before they were supposed to, but it was a minor hiccup. Something to keep in mind if you’re writing a large down payment check, though.) For my first car-​buying experience, they were awesome. Ask for Scott Hickman if you go, and tell him the girl with the blue Mazda2 sent you. Trust me, he’ll know who you mean!
