Description

Specialties

Wholesale distribution and retail store sales. We carry both fresh seafood and frozen. We also carry many Cajun specialties such as Andouille Sausage, Crawfish Sausage, Alligator Sausage, Crawfish Boudin and Gator.

History

Established in 1984.

Jensen Bros. Seafood was founded in 1984 by «Big Al», my father, and me, John Jensen. We introduced fresh farm-raised North Carolina Rainbow Trout door-to-door to Tampa Bay area restaurants in a 6-speed Mitsubishi pick-up truck with no ac, coolers, and a dog named ‘Champ’. The business started with the fresh trout and became successful. I stayed in Dunedin and my father returned to the North Carolina mountains where he started Maggie’s Galley in Waynesville.

After 25 years of distribution (and people asking if they could buy retail) we stocked the inside with chest freezers full of frozen fish, shrimp, and seafood products and opened the garage doors to the public in June 2009.

Business Owner

Jensen Brother’s Seafood was founded in 1984 by my father, «Big Al» and myself, John Jensen. We introduced fresh farm-raised North Carolina Rainbow Trout door-to-door to Tampa Bay area restaurants in a 6-speed Mitsubishi pick-up truck with no AC, coolers, and a dog named Champ. The business started with the fresh trout and became successful.

My father returned to the North Carolina mountains where he started Maggie’s Galley in Waynesville. I stayed in Dunedin and opened our current location as a wholesale business delivering to the Tampa Bay’s finest restaurants, seafood houses, hotels, and retirement facilities.

After 25 years of distribution (and people asking if they could buy retail) we stocked the inside with chest freezers full of frozen fish, shrimp, and seafood products. We began cutting fresh, local caught fish and opened the garage doors to the public in June 2009.
