History

Established in 2011.

Located in the Historical District of Dunnellon, just 4.5 Miles south of the beautiful Rainbow Springs State Park, we are the «home» of a historical bar built in 1862. According to the historical society, the bar has been in 4 previous establishments, all of which have burned to the ground, yet, the bar survived.

It’s also where the 26th President of the United States Teddy Roosevelt, Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Sophia Loren, Ma Barker, Frank James (Jesse’s brother), Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan), and David Allen Coe have all stood. When you visit, ask to see Teddy’s bullet hole.

Meet the Business Owner

Cristina L.

Business Owner

Cristina has worked many years in the restaurant industry, including as manager of a Denny’s in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Her husband and co-owner of the business, Chef Carlos Lugo, has been the head chef in restaurants and fine dining establishments in New York and Florida for 20+ years. He came to the United States from Havana, Cuba in 1980, so when we say our Cuban dishes on the menu are authentic, we really mean it.
