Late to the game, awkward location, I still remember the lack of fanfare when it opened… should it come as any surprise that this place is now closed?
The quality just dwindled and dwindled. I stopped even being interested in coming here. Nothing was setting them apart from any other froyo shop. Still surprising though because every time there would be families coming in and out of the place.

). Sales have been tanking, apparently. Sucks that it was the original taken out by the mediocre local chains that pop up faster than weeds, but that’s what happens when you don’t come to play until 2010.
Oh well. The one near Emory will still be open if you really want to deal with awkward locations some more.
They posted it around 4:30am. I feel bad for them, but that’s how business goes.

Great substitute to ice cream. Tons of flavors to choose from with great toppings. Ask for sample cups so you can sample to different flavors of yogurt. Very clean store and the staff is incredibly helpful. You might miss it, is it in a strip mall beside a publix store. Go shopping and then get some yogurt. It is also near Mellow Mushroom.

I’m not a fan of Korean yogurt, but I love the yogurt flavors here.
FOOD: I tasted a few flavors — coconut, pineapple, key lime, etc. I ended up with coconut and pineapple yogurt and mochi, shredded coconut, and fresh mango slices for toppings. What a great combination for a hot summer day!

I really enjoyed my frozen treat from Red Mango. I had white peach/​Madagascar vanilla with pomegranate/​regular yogurt. I topped it off with a smidgen of caramel syrup and fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries and raspberries).
It was just tart enough and just sweet enough. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I do have an occasional craving for something dessert-​like. My companions had been jonesing for frozen yogurt all weekend, so we ended up here… and I ended up finishing my dessert first! Delish!
I only have two tiny complaints: the strawberries and raspberries were good, but the blackberries were not ripe. Also… they didn’t have any mango. How can a place called Red Mango not have mango-​flavored yogurt or even mango topping? Pssht. Regardless, I will be back. I foresee many visits to Red Mango this summer. It doesn’t hurt one bit that they’re 10 minutes from my new house.

As previously mentioned, J’s obsession with frogurt is turning me into quite the connoisseur, so I thought it would be fun to try out a new place on our date night. This Red Mango is further from our house than I thought, but still closer than Decatur. As Daniel B mentioned, it’s in the northwest corner of the shopping center with Publix, but now there are cloth banners hanging in front of the shops with their names on them, so it’s a tad easier to spot.
We know the drill when it comes to self-​serve, so we jumped right in. I started with the white peach and the tangosomething (a citrus blend), then topped it off with pomegranate and blueberry. Just a warning, these machines really pump out the yogurt, so if you’re mixing flavors, know that you’ll be pushing the handle back up almost as soon as you push it down.
I love that they have pecans as a topping since I don’t like walnuts or the shaved almonds that are so bland. And no, most frogurt places do not have pecans.
The price is a little more than most: $ 0.45/oz. I don’t think I’m getting enough to really make a difference. That and I’ll pay the extra $ 0.06/oz for the pecans.
The yogurt itself is very creamy. I LOVED the white peach and tangosomething (it’s not really called that, but all I can remember is that it started with tango) flavors. The pomegranate was just ok, and the blueberry tasted quite medicinal. I could see myself going back, particularly in the summer, for that citrus flavor, especially if I don’t see honeydew at Yoforia again in the near future.
Also, there’s a frequent customer card!

This is my first Red Mango experience. The staff was extremely friendly, and there are many different flavors. Plus, huge plus for me in the froyo world, they had BANANAS, the precious topping that so many are doing away with!
I sampled the Dark Chocolate, the Hazelnut, The Blueberry, and the Key Lime Pie. I have to agree with other reviewers… there’s something a little off about the flavors. Some of them taste syrup-​like, while others are just too tart.
Still, the blueberry and the key lime pie? Amazing. I had both of these flavors, plus some kiwi, strawberries, and fresh mango (another huge plus, and a topping on the endangered toppings list). At 45 cents an ounce, it was affordable.
All in all, my experience wasn’t bad, but this definitely fell short of my anticipation for Red Mango. I’ll stick to other froyo places when the Key Lime Pie and Blueberry aren’t in stock.

I stopped in to Red Mango after hearing about it’s opening on Unilocal.I go grocery shopping at Publix in the same shopping center and never noticed it. There were 2 kids working behind the counter and no other customers so I took my time sampling every flavor. I have to admit I thought the flavors were a little «off». I mean — how can you mess up Original??? After sampling the Pomegranate, Madagascar Vanilla and other non-​memorable flavors I chose Key Lime Pie and holy crap was that good!
The reason I am only giving this place 2 stars is because there are countless other Frozen Yogurt spots that are so much better — I just wish they were as convenient as Red Mango to where I live.

Stopped at Red Mango after eating at Moe’s (delicious, Chipotle can kiss my behind). Delicious frozen yogurt and a convenient location. Finally Dunwoody’s got a nice healthy spot to hang out at.

I stopped at this spot 2 days ago, after getting Moe’s for dinner, since they are 2 doors down. Let me start off by saying, I’m lactose intolerant and don’t like yogurt.
This was the first yogurt only place I’d ever been in and I got excited just cuz I saw all the self serve handles and boat loads of toppings. I did taste the Original and what I disliked was that it was too tangy! Eww. But I drizzled… well drowned it in Godiva caramel syrup and it was better!
It would be better if it tasted more like ice cream (which I can no longer eat as well), with a mild tartness, in my opinion… but hey, I guess that’s why I don’t like it.
The place is new, trendy, and very clean tho. The staff is friendly too. I’d recommend it to my tart loving, yogurt eating friends.

YES! Red Mango! I was super pumped to find an old, much missed favorite in Atlanta (Now someone just needs to open a pinkberry across the street). The other froyo places that are abundant in this city just don’t do it right. All that being said, I was a bit thrown off when I first walked in… wait what? self-​serve? multiple flavors? scoop your own toppings? I was a little nervous that this was going to be a totally different experience than what I was used to and I have to say this particular Red Mango visit def had some changes.
The cons: the original tart flavor’s tartness is off. I can’t quite put my finger on it but something about the texture is a bit off and the flavor is just a bit milder than I would like.
The pros: Some of the new fangled flavors are actually pretty good. I had the peach yogurt which was delightful. The coconut tasted fine but I kind of felt like I was eating a bath product. The strawberry was a bit intense but still good. I’m kind of excited to try the shmorgasboard of flavors. All the usual toppings you know and love are still available, and the fruit all looked pretty fresh.
All in all a different (but not necessarily in a bad way) experience. I’m gonna stay open minded about all this. Either way, you know I’ll be back for more.

This Red Mango is a totally different experience than the others I’ve visited before. It’s a self serve location with about 12 different flavors. I particularly liked their peach and coconut flavors. That’s a personal thing though. The toppings are the usual stuff you can find in all the other places. I love the fact that it’s close to my house and I’m kicking myself for not finding it sooner. It’s tucked away in the far corner of a Publix shopping center. If I hadn’t been wandering aimlessly I probably would’ve never found it. The store itself is very clean with the usual bright ass colors. The young staff was friendly enough and they seemed to have a steady stream of customers flowing in. Always a good sign. you never want fruit that’s just sitting there for hours or days.
Their original flavor is a bit off from what I’m used to, but it was still decent. I’m not going to rag on a place so close to my heart and more importantly close to my house…

When I heard Red Mango has finally landed in Atlanta, I was seriously happy for my ex-​town. I really thought Atlantans will finally have the true original frozen yogurt — the one that started it all! So when I was in town last week, I decided to treat a couple of my friends. But oh my, Red Mango failed! I was humiliated! Disappointed! Urgh, let me tell you why.
As Tom C. pointed out, this was not the Red Mango I am used to either. The Red Mango frozen yogurt in Korea was always so creamy and sweet, with a slight touch of tanginess. Seriously, it was a piece of heaven in a cup! But not this Red Mango. This was more like Yoforia in Red Mango’s outfit — yeah. simply doesn’t cut it.
But I liked that this Red Mango offers self-​service. None of the Red Mango locations I’ve been to (both Korea and NYC) offer this, so I thought this was a nice upgrade (hence the extra star).
I wouldn’t judge Red Mango by this location. The closest one to Korea’s original version would be the Red Mango in NYC.

red mango, welcome to atlanta. this place has been open for about 3 or 4 weeks and it seems like they’ll do just fine. i was a little skeptical of them opening in the dunwoody area (probably, selfishly, because it was so far from me. everything far for me is doomed to fail in my book). but they seemed pretty busy.
i had red mango for the first time in new york. i loved the texture. much like tom c. this is was what i was expecting. although it was smoother than a lot of other places i’ve been to in atlanta, it wasn’t AS smooth as it was in ny. maybe it’s because of the whole self-​serve thing? i wouldn’t see how that would make a difference though.
i really liked their flavors. i’m not a big fan of non-​fruity flavors cause i get sick of them easily so i loaded up on the fruit based ones: pineapple, strawberry, pomegranate, and tangomonium (or something like that). i really liked their flavors. i would suggest their granola with flaxseed and you ALWAYS have to get mochi. ALWAYS. i liked their fruit because they weren’t frozen and didn’t hurt my teeth when i bit into them.
although it wasn’t as smooth as i remembered in ny, i still think it’s one of the best froyo places in atlanta. i still haven’t tried pinkberry in the cobb county area or menchies off n. druid, but those will be my next stops. i have had pinkberry in ny but i liked the texture of red mango better. i can’t wait til the red mango in decatur opens up!

Atlanta already being over-​saturated with froyo places, what can the originator Red Mango offer?
When I heard Pink Berry was coming to A-town…I didn’t even bat my eyes.
When I heard Red Mango was in town, I was excited because my favorite froyo I tasted so far was Red Mango in New York (because it had a creamy texture) and Forty Carrots (because it had the silkest froyo I ever had!)
But coming to this establishment in Dunwoody was a disappointment. The texture of the froyo here is not the same as the ones in New York. It was icier and I don’t like icy froyo. I sampled the various flavors that they had before making my cup and I tasted the original flavor… and it was off.
Despite the disappointment, I recognize that Red Mango has been update in the froyo competition and doing self serve. Which I like cause consumers know how to serve themselves the best! What I also like was how Red Mango differentiated itself from the local Atlanta spots by having flavors that are not typical. Some of the ones that I enjoyed was the pumpkin spice, hazelnut, tangeomonium (citrus), and coconut.
So is it worth coming out to Red Mango in Dunwoody even though it is not like the original texture it’s known for? I don’t think so, better go to one that is closest to you. Lets hope that Red Mango in Decatur gets the recipe right.

I walked into the store giggling with excitement given that the previous good experience at the Red Mango in NYC although the setup was different. Like Yogli-​Mogli, Yogurt Tap, and Menchies, the Red Mango here features self-​serve yogurt in variety of flavors and toppings measured by the weight.
My friends and I didn’t know where to start so we just stood looking lost. The employee walked over to explain the concept and recommended pretty much every single flavor. I liked how there was a sample cup dispenser so I didn’t feel self-​conscious about tasting single one.
I got Key Lime Pie, White Peach, and Original. As the employee explained, the regular is a base for all the other flavors. My friends and I all agreed that we like the tartness of regular yogurt, so we pretty much liked everything. The Key Lime Pie flavor is great with the graham cracker topping! Although I personally didn’t try them, my friends didn’t think the Pumpkin or the Chocolate ones tasted THAT great.
Because we had Thai food at a restaurant in the same shopping center before, I didn’t want to get too much. The total for mine came out to $ 2.00. My friend took some home for her mommy too. Out of ALL the fro-​yo places I’ve checked out in the metro Atlanta area (and I’ve tried quite a few) I have to say that Red Mango is the best. I can’t wait until they open up in new locations!

Another day, another froyo store opens in Atlanta. This time it’s Red Mango, one of the original froyo chains founded in South Korea and now with over 200 locations worldwide. It opened about two weeks ago. This is metro Atlanta’s first Red Mango and it’s located in Dunwoody on Chamblee-​Dunwoody Rd, just north of the Mt. Vernon intersection, in the Dunwoody Hall shopping center (same shopping center as Publix). As of right now, there is no signage for this restaurant from the street. If you’re facing Publix, Red Mango is hidden to the right in the corner of the complex.
Walk inside, same idea as all other self-​serve froyo stores. Red Mango offers a dozen different flavors, many of which are unique, including Tangomonium (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit mix), Pumpkin Spice (limited time flavor), and Key Lime Pie. Sample cups are available right next to the regular self-​serve cups, so you are free to try out as many samples as you want, which I did — I sampled all 12 flavors, one right after the other! By the time I finished, I think the tip of my tongue was numb.
My favorite flavors are the original (tart), Pumpkin Spice, and coconut. The other flavors were okay, except for the cocoa. Tart and chocolate just don’t go well together for me. They have all your standard fruit and dry toppings. I didn’t notice any toppings that made them stand out from the competition. Pinkberry and Yogurberry probably have the best topping selections.
Yogurt and toppings here are priced at 45 cents an ounce, which is 6 cents higher than Yoforia, Yogli-​Mogli, and Yogurt Tap. I don’t think it’s worth it as my froyo had a lot of icy lumps in it — not smooth and creamy, like it should be.
Now for some picky stuff: The handles on each of the machines are tighter and harder to operate than the machines at Yoforia, Yogurt Tap, Yogo Ono, Yogli-​Mogli, etc. Also, the tongs don’t pick up the fruit as easily, so you can mash up your delicate fruit toppings without even trying (there were several mashed up berries in the toppings containers).
Inside is new, clean, trendy, well-​lit, and has plenty of seating. There’s also seating outside. Since this location is in the suburbs, expects lots of families, kids, and teenagers. Friendly service. They offer a loyalty card, which you can swipe and earn loyalty points on. You can even log into a web site online to check your balance. Now that’s nice.
In the end, this is an okay froyo joint, but I was sort of expecting more from one of the originators. Yogurberry, Pinkberry, and Yoforia are still my top three in metro Atlanta.

This is my new favorite thing! Self-​serve frozen yogurt is amazing. I had the strawberry yogurt with blueberries, strawberries, mangos and fruity pebbles on it. It was a heaping bowl and under $ 4 and it was delish. Can’t beat it! The yogurt is apparently naturally flavored and free of preservatives. All of the fruit looked to be recently cut and really fresh. Even the bananas had no signs of brownish-​ness or mushiness. My only complaint would be that the signage above the yogurt machines is very confusing and you can’t really tell what flavor you are getting. You kind of have to trial-​and-​error it but I’m sure they will sort that out since they just opened. Until then, I won’t complain about having to try multiple flavors.

First Pinkberry, now Red Mango — Atlanta is a lucky city! Thanks to Amanda D’s review otherwise I’d never known Red Mango was already here — even better, they’re in Dunwoody which is close to my house! They’ve been open just 8 days and lucky for me, I came when it wasn’t crowded so I got to sample a lot of flavors w/​o having to worry about a long line behind me. And I love that they make sampling easy for the customer with their self-​serve «sample cup» dispenser (unlike Yogli-​Mogli and Yoforia where you have to ask for them).
My favorite flavors — White Peach (yum), Caribbean Coconut (yum), Madagascar Vanilla, and Tangomonium (citrus medley). Unlike other places where the flavored yogurts might be very subtle, their flavors are more obvious … except for a few where I don’t think I’d be able to identify them in a blind taste test) — e.g., Irish Cream and Pumpkin Pie Spice.
Other available flavors — Pineapple (too sweet and reminded me of the pineapple dum-​dum suckers — I like Yoforia’s version a lot better), Key Lime Pie (not a fan but really did taste like key lime pie), Original (more sweet/​creamy and the tartness was very subtle compared to other places), Wild Raspberry, Blueberry, and Pomegranate.

FYI — not the best location unless you live in Dunwoody. It took me 15 minutes just from I-​285 but maybe that’s b/​c I got stopped at every red light. Look for the Publix shopping center — if you’re facing Publix, they’re on the far right in the corner.

red mango is the originator, way before pink berry (they were so original on the name copy, don’t you think?), way before any of the other yo, fro, etc etc etc.
This location is different than any of red mango fro-​yo establishment I’ve been to… from seoul, korea to new york. Its a self-​serve establishment with various flavors and toppings. Best part — its only 45 cents an oz! so super cheap compared to others.
The location is a little tucked away in the corner of a Publix strip mall, but apparently they are opening others.
Pros: best fro-​yo ever (I always get the original, but I’m a purest), convenient self-​serce set-​up, free wi-​fi, decent seating (quantity)
Cons: the layout is a little weird — you have to go to the end of the store and bump into people when you’re getting your froyo (lessons needed from the yogurtland people, they know how to traffic control), no mochi! but I’ve been informed that its coming
