This is a newer two-story motel. The outside and inside were clean and well maintained. A very reassuring look when one arrives. All the employees that I dealt with were great. Our room was nice sized. Even with a king sized bed the room was not cramped. The heating/air conditioning unit was acceptably quiet. The bathroom was stocked with the normal consumables. The WiFi worked very well in our room. The breakfast offering is extremely limited. Waffles, biscuit and gravy, and yogurt. They should take food lessions from the Drury Inns. The management has joined the sneaky added cost school of hotel management. When checking in I was informed that there was an added charge of $ 1.75 per night for the safe in the room. When I objected I was told that upon check out I could get the charge removed but they could not remove them on check in. What percentage of customers do you think forget to delete the safe cost on check out? My policy is to reduce the rating by one star for this practice. It is located within walking distance of downtown Durand. As far as I can determine it is the only motel in or near Durand. The room prices are on the high side but it is the only game in town.

We stay at the Cobblestone Inn for hunting. We’re checked in there about 6 or more times a year. They are an amazing motel with extreme cleanliness and friendly hospitality.

We were in town for a funeral, and they treated us really well. We were distraught and disorganized, but it was midweek and not too busy, so they were flexible with us regarding check-in/check-out. That was an enormous relief not to have to stress about that. I ended up forgetting a ring in the room when we checked out. I called the next day, and they had hung onto it for me, which was also a great relief. I felt well taken care of at this place.

We have stayed at about 30 motels this summer as we’ve bicycled around the upper midwest, and this is one of the two best ones we’ve stayed at. Clean, attractive and very spacious room, large easy-to-open windows with screens, hot breakfast, a guest laundry, and very helpful and friendly staff. Only complaint was the wifi router was weak, and at one point had to go to the breakfast area to get good reception. The town of Durand is pretty small but has a grocery and at least one full-service restaurant plus a few fast food outlets. The paved Chippewa River Valley Trail starts here and runs 40 miles to Chippewa Falls, with two other trails shooting off to Menomonie and to Cornell. The hotel welcomes bicyclists and has extra space in the guest laundry room for indoor storage of bikes.
