A+ Test Prep offers dynamic instruction for test prep, professional development, & academic enrichment.

Test Prep: We specialize in SAT, ACT, PSAT, GRE, GMAT, and Praxis preparation, to name a few. Our classes go beyond test prep: we offer courses that help students improve their critical reading skills, vocabulary acquisition, note-​taking skills, time management, financial literacy, and more..

Professional Development: Sample programming includes PD for setting up local test prep centers; review and utilization of data for instructional programming; understanding Common Core Standards; developing lesson plans using CCSS; and preparing for teacher certification exams.

Our classes go beyond our home office. We also partner with programs and organizations to provide camps, classes, and other activities that help students develop academically and socially. Our community partners include Duke Youth Programs, Duke AHEC, UNC Upward Bound, UNC Heels for Success, Warren County Gea UP, YMCA of the Triangle, National Black MBA Leaders of Tomorrow, & Wake County Lifelong Learning, to name a few.

History

Established in 2011.

A+ Test Prep emerged from a home-​based tutoring business into a full-​fledged locally-​owned business that is proud to support the educational needs of students and their families. With over twenty years’ experience in test prep from its content-​creation side to the grading side and an 18-​year career in NC public schools, the founder has herself coached students to perfect and near-​perfect scores on the SAT and ACT and has assisted students in securing hundreds of thousands in scholarship dollars.

Sheba B.

Business Owner

A former NC Teaching Fellow, Sheba earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from UNC-​Chapel Hill where she currently serves as the test prep instructor for Heels for Success. She also has test prep ties to Duke (Constructing Your College Experience, Youth Programs Test Prep, & SROP); NC State (TRiO); & NCCU (GRE prep for Athletics). Sheba has coached students to perfect and near perfect scores, and knows the test prep business from its content creation side to the grading side. She has earned National Board Certification and holds teaching licensure in ESL and Secondary Language Arts.
