BEWARE!!! THEIR 5 STAR RATINGS ARE FAKE, BEWARE!!! And YES I have proof of that! I first took my car here about 9 months ago because my front brake was occasionally rubbing. Even after I told them I recently had all new brakes and calipers installed they said it would be a $ 300 repair! I decided to wait until I visited family in my home town and went to a mechanic I’ve trusted for 20 years. After looking at it for 2 minutes he showed me a crimped line and replaced it for $ 10. Atlantic tire not only charged me $ 40 to misdiagnose the problem (and most likely lie) they kept my car in their shop the entire day to do it!!! Like an idiot I recently returned for an oil change and tune up after explaining to them that I would give them one more chance. I just got a call from the SAME MECHANIC AS BEFORE TELLING ME I NEEDED ABOUT $ 2000 AND HE COULD DO IT TODAY!!! I told him no thank you please just do my oil change and tune up. After trying to overcharge me by $ 300 and arguing with me about it for 5 minutes they found their error and claimed it was an honest mistake. When I started my car it ran MUCH worse than when I brought it in to them. There’s NO doubt in my mind the Mechanic did NOT do any work and may have done some damage. i took my car to another garage the next day and had them pull the supposedly new spark plugs that I paid Atlantic $ 200 to install, they told me they were USED SPARK PLUGS!!! All their Google reviews are fake too and WRITTEN BY AN INTERNET SCAM COMPANY! …BEWARE!!!

After having numerous issues with the service department at Westgate Dodge I shopped around and spoke with people I work with, and Atlantic Tire was a consensus good choice. After getting a new set of tires put on, I’m happy I went to Atlantic. Mark was very helpful and worked with Michelin to get the mileage warranty on my previous tires honored. I plan on going back for future service and maintenance.

Just a basic screw in tire job so far here. Nice guys, quick and twenty bucks. Busy morning for them but they squeezed in a quick patch job for me in under 30 minutes to get me off my spare.

Failed inspection with ~$ 750 of «urgently» required repairs and parts.
Then I read the reviews here and took it to another test station: passed first time with no (immediate) repairs or parts needed.
I even asked them to double check one of the items that Atlantic had highlighted and the answer was «eventually but not for at least another few 1000 miles — or it could be 6 months or more, just keep an eye on it.»

Placed in a situation where we needed to replace trailer tires away from home, we found this shop near our hotel.

It’s a busy shop, 10 bays — all in use with commercial and personal vehicles. The facilities were clean and cameras were set up on the perimeter; though, it’s a quiet part of town. The staff had our tires waiting; but since we arrived around 5pm Friday, they had it ready to go by 9am Saturday morning.

Thank you Max and Danny and the guys who worked on our trailer. You all did a great job.

I do not want to make this a redundant review but I was very pleased with the service, quality, and how quickly I was in and out here. Granted they just had to patch a hole from a nail in one of my tires. If I ever need to I will definitely be going back here!

Atlantic tire responded to my entry… I’d like to follow-​up as Unilocal has a limit for what I can put into one rating.
Regarding my Jeep and the $ 1000.00 quote from Alantic Tire for five new tires. As I said, when Davis quoted me the $ 1000.00 he had agreed to work with Bridgestone on any discount they could provide. But when it came to handing me the actual quote, he told me «I» would need to negotiate the discount. That was all well and good. But after burning several bridges with me (on my other car) I went to Discount Tire. I wound up working with the Mfg and decided to try a competitor. I asked Bridgestone if they could work with them and everything came out fine. The $ 1000.00 quote for 5 tires from Atlantic wound up costing me just at $ 600.00 at Discount Tire. If I needed to do my own legwork, I will get to the root of an issue. There is a pattern here.
Back to my car. The tires I originally had put on my car cost near $ 800 installed and alignment in 2012. They wore out prematurely. Despite me taking the car back to get the steering wheel slant corrected, the incorrect camber setting was causing the wear. BMW is a performace suspension system. It calls for a weighted Alignment which means 200lb sand bags are needed in 4 seats to properly set the alignment. Wear is common. But you also circumvent premature wear as much as possibble by rotating the tires. As I said, I took it in for rotation 1 week prior to an oil change. 1 week later, I got an oil change and they rotated the tires back to the original location. This, and the camber setting is what wore the tires out prematurly.
After the refusal to honor a simple rotation and repairing the screw in the tire, (which I paid for) I took my car and my Atlantic Tire sales receipt into Discount Tire in Raleigh. The sales folks there don’t work off commission. Discount Tire contacted the mfg (on my behalf) and were able to provide me a credit of $ 69.00 per tire, towards new Continentals, which I recently had put on.
Had Atlantic Tire offered to work with me on this issue, I wouldn’t be writing this response. But BECAUSE I understand the sales practices and UNDERSTAND the consumer end, I disagree with your assessment. In fact, so do several other people writing reviews about your sales practices.
I know this practice, I worked on cars in my 20’s and know the safety grill. Regardless of training and ANSI specs, tolerances for brake pads, and setting up alignments and/​or replacement of parts it’s all often left to interpretation. I’ll never command safety last, but if you know a little bit about cars, you can use common sense to prevail a marginal or even unwarrented repair. Personally, I’ve been the delivery guy. Sometimes it was bad news. Many other times obselesence can be guaged and NOT at the expense of the consumer.
I’m sure, not ALL of Atlantic Tire repairs are less than questionable. Readers can read reviews and decide for themselves. For me, I have decided. I know the automotive repair sales tactics. It’s many times an unitentional but very preditory in nature. I know better. And this is why we have Unilocal

I don’t always leave reviews, but when I do, I choose to when a business is exceptional.
First I’ve always had excellent work. In the few events something had to be covered under warranty, service was hassle free. They know where I work and my income, and that I look like a dumb dweeby kid, but I’ve never ever felt like I couldn’t open my wallet around these guys.
As a matter of fact they volunteer more information than any other shop when I tell them most work that I don’t need a tow for I get done by my family mechanic.
Very helpful, very courteous, very good!
Did I mention free wifi, shuttle and Keurig coffee?!?
The only downside is a few years ago they switched creditors, but that’s ok it hasn’t happened again in the last couple years. Just forced me to pay the thing off! Got my new credit today after monitoring this situation for some time :)

I work next to Atlantic Tire so I took my car there to get inspected for the convenience. My car failed due to what they said was a fluid leak in my back breaks. I told them i wouldn’t get it fixed there since it was expensive and my boyfriend knows how to change them. So it was to my surprise to find when we went to check out the leak they told me I had that we found NOTHING! There was no even appearance that any liquid had ever been leaking just the usual break dust. I then took it to get inspected at another shop and they passed it and said nothing needed fixing. I don’t know if they just saw a women and thought they could get me to pay for it… but either way I will never go back.

I should have listened to Unilocal Users on this one. I just started a new job right next to this location and was very disappointed. I was told they would do a coolant pressure test to trace the leaks in my cooling system. The tool used to do this basically applies air pressure to the radiator cap port and checks if the pressure declines at a rapid rate with simple dials /​gauges. This test takes less than a minute to do, yet they charge $ 49.95 to do it. I was also told the my water pump was leaking when it’s only about a year old and was replaced new. The labor here is $ 99/​hr, which is extraordinarily high to me, coming from Ohio and Florida, where these rates are closer to dealership rates. I was only impressed with their willingness to give me a ride to and from work, and the facility itself was very clean and the staff is mostly professional. This factor alone is worth the 1 star, considering the circumstances of getting an estimate for over $ 4000 for a car I paid $ 2300 for 3 years ago, and put about $ 1200 into it in parts and at labor rates of $ 25-​$ 55 hr by my last few repair shops.
For someone who doesn’t know any better, and a lot of money to burn, this place might be ok, but for the do-​it-​yourself person who simply doesn’t have the time or tools on hand to do certain smaller things, like simply replace a coolant hose at $ 2 a foot, I expect you to be as disappointed. I frown on the methods they use to price gouge
this area of Durham because they are the only shop in close proximity to many peoples work place.
I would have happily spent at least $ 400-​$ 500 here had they been willing to work with me on some of the cost of labor and repairs, but they wanted at least $ 1200 to do what I feel was only worth $ 500 at the most.
Bottom line: Durham can do much better, and it should. $ 100 for a conventional oil change and an estimate of repairs that I had to ASK to have EMAILED to me AFTER THE FACT is LUDICROUS, in my humble opinion.

Went for an inspection and they tried to tell me I needed $ 2k in unneeded repairs. Also they wouldn’t let me take it on a drive cycle.

Made an appointment for a car inspection because they told me it may take 45 minutes without one. I arrived on time for my appointment and was told I would be «in and out». Over an hour later (about 1 hour and 10 minutes later) I had to go out and ask what was going on. That’s when I was told my car had failed inspection and I needed 4 new tires. It took over an hour to find that out? Never going back here again.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go to this place if you need a quick car inspection. I went here on my lunch break 2 days ago and they said it would take 30 minutes. I sat in the waiting room for an hour (I was just about to get up and ask what was taking so long) and the guy walks in and says they cant connect my car to the DMV system so they weren’t able to actually inspect it! I waited around for an hour for nothing. The best part was that the guy told me it had happened to «a couple other vehicles» earlier that day. WHY IN THE HECK didnt he mention that to begin with? Horrible place!

If I could give Atlantic Tire 0 stars I would. I was new in the area and didn’t know where else to bring my car for basic maintenance like oil changes and state inspections. Every time I took my car in (disclosure: I’m a twenty-​something female) they came back with a laundry list of things that «had» to be fixed or else I supposedly wouldn’t even make it home. The expected cost was always close to a thousand dollars.
I once took my car here for an inspection and was charged $ 98 for a diagnostic test that I didn’t ask for AND my car failed inspection for what they claimed to be many reasons, including a faulty catalytic converter. I paid my $ 98 and drove away furious! I then took my car to two different mechanics for second opinions and the first passed the car right away– both mechanics agreed there were no issues to prevent it from passing inspection or otherwise.
Please beware and take your car somewhere (anywhere!) else. This business is deceptive and only out to make money. The worst part to me is that they claim to be a Christian business, but it’s clear they’re taking advantage of anyone and everyone. I hope they go out of business.

I’ve taken our 5-​series BMW, Nissan Pathfinder, Chevy z-​71 and all are serviced well! Prices are aggressive, quality is high, and they stand behind all work! I’ve been pleased with AT&S for 10+ years! I swear by them; very honest and reputable. I highly recommend their work.

I’ve been here several times for new tires, rotate/​balance, oil changes, inspections, and every time they’ve been friendly, quick, and honest. Sure they try to up-​sell me, but that’s their job and I never feel pressured to purchase anything that I don’t need. The free wifi and spacious waiting room is nice also.

We have taken our cars there several times for both major and minor repairs and they were honest, efficient and did a good job.
