Specialties
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity uses proceeds from the sales of donated items to help build affordable homes locally and around the world.
In 2014, donations and purchases made at the ReStore allowed for six homes to be built for families in Durham and Orange counties.
History
Established in 2010.
Originally called the Hand Me Ups Store, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened in its current location in 2010. The ReStore gives 100% of its proceeds to both Durham and Orange county Habitat affiliates.
