History

Established in 1971.

Johnny White & The Elite Band began when Johnny and some of his classmates decided they wanted to make music a career. Originally known as Johnny White & The Crusaders Orchestra, Johnny and his friends encountered a road block with their name when they decided they wanted to record. So in order to get around this obstacle, they decided to change the name to Johnny White and The Elite Band.

Since that time, the band has recorded and traveled around the country performing and entertaining audiences of all ages. Presently they spend their time as entertainers for wedding receptions, corporate events, reunions, outdoor festivals, and any type private event that requires a «first class» presentation. Their music repetoire includes current Top 40, Motown, Carolina Beach, R&B, 70’s & 80’s Disco, Jazz and Big Band. The group travels totally self-​contained with sound and lights and effects. Available with 9 to 13 performers.

Johnny is a graduate of the North Carolina Central University Music Department, and is presently the lead vocalist of Johnny White and The Elite Band.
