Specialties

It is our policy to provide the best possible end result in carpet cleaning and stain removal. In most cases, we do not charge for stains unless we are called specifically for it. If carpet has stains (to a normal degree) we feel it is part of the job to remove them. We also offer the guarantee that if the stains come back, so do we. We also move furniture at no charge (to a normal degree) for the sake of being thorough.

History

Established in 2007.

David Stines has been cleaning carpets and rugs for 12 years before moving to NC and starting One Of A Kind. We continue to be recognized as an authority in the area of carpet and rug cleaning.

David and his team are true professionals! They worked on high traffic areas and a number of terrible stains to bring our carpets to looking brand new again. They moved furniture, (allowed me to scoot in and clean the base boards) and moved everything back to where they found it. His multi step process gets amazing results. I highly recommend One of a Kind Custom Carpet Cleaning.

My husband accidentally dumped a can of paint down our carpeted stairs, while painting the stairwell. David was completely undaunted and got all of the paint out and also tackled a couple other «challenging» areas with ease. David is very professional, friendly and fair priced.

David is super-​nice and they did a great job! They were able to come out I think the next day or so after I called which was on a Saturday which was awesome. We only had them do the stairs, hallway, and one bedroom since our house is brand new and we mainly just needed help with a couple of stains that had been tracked around a bit. Thanks David!

David came to my home and not only did he clean the carpets, but he moved the furniture for us and his cleaning method allowed him to get the furniture moved back the same day! There was one, fairly minor, spot that required additional work. Without having to ask him, David and his crew agreed to and did get back the next day, take care of it, and honor his original quote. This truly is one of a kind carpet cleaning!

One of a Kind Carpet Cleaning is the best. After my experience with other methods and providers, I will not let anyone else touch my carpets. When we last sold our home, I had a steam cleaner come in. Some of the stains remained and the carpet felt stiff and unattractive. David came in and I could not believe the stuff he pulled out of the «clean» carpet! When it was done (and dry in 90 minutes, as advertised) I was amazed. Our beige carpet on the first floor was immaculate. A stubborn blackish stain in the worst possible location was utterly gone. Former neighbors came to visit and the first comment the wife made when she walked in was, «You’ve got new carpets!» We had to explain that what was new was our carpet cleaner. David has also worked wonders with our oriental rug — it is far and away the most costly and beautiful art piece in our home — and he has kept it pristine.

Although our carpets looked much better after being cleaned by One of a Kind, the smell of cat urine persisted and we still had to replace the carpet in that room. It may have soaked through the carpet to the point that no carpet cleaning would have helped, but I just wanted to give fellow Unilocalers more realistic expectations than I may have had.

The rug in my kitchen was custom-​cut to fit a funky space. It was disgusting and I was planning to replace it before One of a Kind came out! The rug looks like NEW! My upstairs carpet also got a thorough cleaning, but having this rug cleaned probably saved me $ 600. Thank you, One of a Kind!

One of a Kind also does upholstery cleaning. When I moved, my dining chairs had been in storage for months and were uncovered. David came and cleaned them all quickly and thoroughly. Next thing you know, he was looking at my delicious lunch and in 2 seconds we were both eating.
I arrange for him to come approximately once a year for my rugs and furniture because cleaning prolongs their wear. There is no one else I’d use.

One of a Kind was fantastic. I had potential buyers coming to look at my house in the evening, and I called One of a Kind Custom Carpet Cleaning that same morning. They came that afternoon (squeezed into a brief window between when the painters left and when they buyers were coming), cleaned the whole carpet including a staircase, and, as promised, it was dry in no time. The carpet looked fantastic, and having it dry so quickly was extremely convenient. I was really impressed with how quickly the responded to my request and how quickly the worked, and they also moved a good deal of heavy furniture in the process. They are highly recommended!!!

We had a stain in my office that no one could remove. David had one of his guys come buy and clean the office and now the stain is gone. We have paid several other people and he is the only one that done what he said he could do. Great service and finally someone who does what he promised.
