History

Established in 2014.

After several years of working in the accounting industry, Shayda decided it was time to follow her dreams. So in 2013, Shayda moved to Paris, France to study at the world renowned Le Cordon Bleu. Upon completion of an extensive pastry program and an internship in Paris, Shayda returned to her hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina and started Sweets by Shayda as a means to bring a taste of France to the triangle using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Sweets by Shayda is based out of a commercial kitchen in Durham, NC. Our desserts are unique, check out our menu to see what is available. Orders can be arranged for pick-​up or local delivery is available.

Best macaroon and pastry that I have ever tasted, true French pastry at its finest. The lemon is my favorite macaroon but they are all amazing. I’m a chef myself so I am particular about what and where I eat.

Stopped by Shayda’s booth at the Cary Farmer’s Market. My husband got a pistachio macaron and I got a coffee macaron. I didn’t try the pistachio (I’m not sure he would have let me!) but the coffee was AMAZING. We will absolutely be visiting Shayda’s soon!

Found Shayda at the Cary Farmers Market, bought a Box of her Macarons, devoured them (in a civilized way, in the car with my eBay Bride) or I could say we had them as a Dessert after Lunch and both would be true! Could not wait to write this review!

If it is Important that your Pâtissière is Trained in France, Shayda studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France!
Location NOTE ! I found Shayda at the Cary Farmers Market… She said she had a Commercial Bakery in Durham though I’m not sure if her Bakery is Open to the Public?
