Tempest in a Teapot

I don’t know anything about tea, but the manager was happy to recommend a bunch of types based on my vague descriptions of what i was looking for.
The place is hard to find since there isn’t a big sign yet, but it’s right beside Panera facing bed bath and beyond. The inside is nice and airy and i think the prices are fair. You can get little bags to try for 50 cents each!

Hooray for locally owned teashops. It’s good to find things that aren’t quite like everything else and Tempest does that.
As you walk in, near the front window and sometimes outside the front window, are tables with small tins of various samples of the dry tea available to see and smell. It’s a nice chance to see the product and catch the various flower, fruit, or spice aromas that make up that particular tea.
On the shelves in front of the different teas are descriptions of where the tea originates, the tastes of the various notes making up that tea, a breakout of whether it’s a no-​caffeine or high-​caffeine tea comparing it to an equivalent amount of coffee, and how to use to make a standard cup.
As you’d expect, there are teas from all over the world, and in every kind: white, green, black, red. Teas are available in loose leaf and in teabags; there are single serve teabags if there’s a question whether you want to make the commitment and buy an entire tin or box. There are a few sampler boxes as well with anywhere from 3 to 6 different kinds depending on if green or black teas are your choice.
Teas are also available by the cup, and the manager will be happy to brew a sample of certain types. If you already have the tea but need the strainer for the loose-​leaf tea, or a teapot, you can pick those up here, too.
It’s a nice shop, and because it’s local, there’s a personal touch.
