Each person’s path to wellness is unique and has many stages. Wherever you are on this journey, our goal is to assist you on your path toward wholeness. Our care is genuine; we value each relationship. We know that the most effective therapies must be personalized to fit the specific needs of each individual.

History

Established in 2011.

Stewart decided to expand his practice and founded Wholistic Health Studio in Durham, January 2011. The studio has grown to include not only massage therapy but all different kinds of body work and rehabilitation.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Stewart Walker, LMBT, NC License #1286, has studied and practiced massage since 1972. He received a B.A. in Religion from UNC, Chapel Hill in 1977 and has studied with healers from spiritual, alternative, and conventional medical traditions.

Stewart co-​founded the Community Wholistic Health Center (1978) and was the founder and director of the Carolina School of Massage Therapy (1987). In 1990, he began private practice at his studio in Durham, NC. He also teaches massage therapists new strategies for pain reduction in continuing education workshops throughout the state.

His massage therapy has always emphasized the use of therapeutic bodywork as a tool for reducing muscular-​skeletal pain.
