Especially for Children provides quality child development programs for infants through preschoolers in a creative, safe and nurturing environment.
Our programs enhance children’s emotional security and self-esteem, while stimulating their intellectual growth. We enable children to explore and discover with their peers and with encouraging adults. We also seek to provide peace of mind and a supportive community through trained personnel, family events, and excellent programs.
History
Established in 1976.
In 1976, Priscilla Williams, President of Especially for Children, made an overnight decision to take over two child care centers that were on the brink of closing down. With her B.A. in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota, as well as her early education teaching certificate, Priscilla aimed to create centers which were fun, positive, challenging, and child-centered. She established Especially for Children to serve families in the Minneapolis area.
