Mango Tree Bistro

Highly recommend. Fantastic food! Came for lunch. Got the Tom yum which was piping hot but not overly spicy; the shumai (dumplings) which were great and the green curry was tasty. I’ve been to Thailand 7 or 8 times and this is pretty authentic.
Ambiance is quiet but pleasant. Will definitely return.

Serves the best Thai Tea in this area.
Tried almost all the items in their menu and there’s not a single item that I don’t love.

We really like this cozy little place. Food always good. BYOB. I say DEF give it a try. very nice people too. If larger group let them know, it’s not very big.

Vey good food and service. They make sure to accommodate you even though there is limited space. The jasmine soup, vegetarian spring rolls and pineapple friend rice were all perfect. The prices are very reasonable.

Came here twice and both times I was pleasantly pleased. Quick service and colorful atmosphere. Food was tasty and I’d recommend anyone looking for a new place and lovely service. You forget you’re right on Ridge Pike!

Probably the best Thai that I’ve found in the suburbs of Philly.
Drunken noodles had just the right amount of spice with plenty of tofu and veggies. Mango curry was also nicely spiced with plenty of mango chunks and veggies/​tofu.

(3.5) ~ good overall food & service. Closed on Tuesdays.
OUR MENU:
* Tom Ka Ga (Coconut Soup w. Chicken) = (3.75) Good
* Thai Iced Tea = (3.75) Good
* Pad Thai (Chicken) = (3.25) pretty good, but had way more Tofu than Chicken and I didn’t see any scrambled egg? The Menu description doesn’t list Tofu, otherwise I would have said NO Tofu.
* Mango Sticky Rice = (3.25) pretty good

Kick ass Thai food. I usually try dishes that are not red/​yellow/​green curries. I fail to remember that pork dish I had. I blew my mind. Tad bit pricey. They tend to be busy so don’t expect wonders from the service staff and do expect to wait for a little bit for your dish. So we don’t frequent this place. Great food though.

Yummy, delicious food. There were lots of vegetarian options available. The hostess was kind enough to suggest other custom vegetarian options which were not on the menu. Will definitely be visiting this place again.

It was one of those, I feel super-sick-but-I’m-starving type of rainy days. I literally went on Unilocal (as always) and looked for lunch spots around my office. This place had great reviews so I figured it was worth a shot. I ordered a lunch special for takeout. and it was pretty cheap too!
Tom yum soup: it was okay with a lot of ginger flavor to it. A little too much cabbage and not much of other veggies, but still a good choice.
Veggie spring roll: basic cabbage and carrots. Nothing special.
Drunken noodles: not too spicy like most places, but still packed a kick. But besides the spicy flavor, there wasn’t much else for my palate. The tofu wasn’t really fried, but it didn’t have that gross spongy texture either (phew!).
Evil jungle princess: a bunch of veggies in a spicy yet flavorless curry.
Not the biggest fan, but it was doable for Thai.

My girlfriend and I got dinner here on a Saturday night — no wait at all. Food was good, particularly the lemongrass soup, and the seasonal specials were very good. She got some pork dish and I had a pumpkin curry.
We did not get drinks, but it appeared that they had a good selection.

Came here on a Unilocal search that once again did not disappoint! Easy to get to with ample parking and plenty of outside seating!
We started off with Dumplings and Miso soup both of which were excellent. I had the Shrimp curry that was hot and tasty. My wife’s Veggie Pineapple Fried Rice was excellent as well. Very pleasant and quick service– we’ll be back!

We come here at least once a month and always mid-​afternoon. We always miss the much raved lunch specials! But it is such a gustatory pleasure.
Today we had to go for the Mango Tree Platter, tulip dumplings, shrimp rolls, fried vegetable rolls and the Thai dumpling with 3 dipping sauces. If you can’t decide, have the platter!
The Duck Curry had a delightful surprise, it had green grapes in it. I’ve had hot grapes before, but this is the first time I had it in a viand and my hubbykins will be testing a couple of dishes at home to try.
The folks are always very friendly and helpful. It has a nice and relaxing atmosphere and to us it’s quite intimate, since we tend to eat at off-​hours.

2^nd visit here last evening. Previously for lunch which was very good to dinner on a Friday night with a friend.
Menu:
Lemongrass soup– Hot n sour with mushroom, lemongrass and lime leaves– I chose chicken in mine, It was a wonderful combo of flavors and spices.
Dick special of the evening. Curried duck in a coconut milk gravy infused with exciting and flavorful spices which contained pineapple, potatoes, carrots and mushrooms, The side of white rice was perfect to soak up a bit of the gravy to get all items on one spoonful, Truly delightful!
My friend had Fresh Summer Rolls which he loved that contained cucumbers, lettuces, carrots, bean sprouts, shrimp and rice noodles wrapped with the rice skin, served with a side of sweet
yellow bean sauce. AND– a dish called Mango Tree Seafood Pasta –Sautéed pasta with a combo of seafood with lemongrass, basil leaves and hot chili pepper, pepper corns, and exotic
herbs.
The décor is Thai modern and beautiful. Judging from the un-​ending «Yummy noises» emanating from our table we will be back often.

I was visiting my uncle, Aunt and Cousins in PA, and they recommended this place to eat. It’s a small family owned restaurant with limited seating. Food is amazing, service was very good as well. Nice place for family dinner or a casual date. Food comes in generous portions enough to share between two people. Would definitely go again when i visit to try other dishes on the menu.

I discovered the Mango Tree Bistro on Unilocal :) The food is delicious and inexpensive. I enjoyed fried rice and panag curry chicken. Boy was it good. The chef expertly knows how to administer different levels of spice.
The restaurant is colorfully painted and decorated with authentic Thai art motif. There is plenty of parking. The service is a 9 out of 10. I look forward to dining here again.

After Amy A. had been talking for months about this Thai restaurant nearby, I finally got the chance to try it out recently when she chose the place for her birthday dinner. Mango Tree accommodated our group of about 10 on a Friday night for a lovely meal.
The restaurant is conveniently located right off Germantown Pike, and is a cute and homey style restaurant. The place actually looks like it was a house at some point? Two stories, large porch, and the small rooms make it feel like a house. It’s nicely decorated as well, beautiful but not in your face.
I believe Mango Tree is somehow associated with the more popular Chiangmai in Conshohocken. If you like Chiangmai, you’ll like this place as well. Especially because the menu is nearly identical. I ordered the panang curry, which is a great medium curry. Not very spicy, but more of a kick than the plain yellow curry. It had a lot of veggies, which I love, and really nice flavor. And the best part — it was only $ 12! My bf ordered a dish I can’t remember the name of, so it wasn’t one of the more popular Thai dishes that most Americans order. It was basically chicken/​beef and veggies with a thin brown sauce that unfortunately had little flavor. I only mention it because I don’t want you to order it as well! Everything else that came out of their kitchen was delicious.
Prices are so reasonable, and they are a BYOB as well and did a fantastic job of keeping our glasses and ice buckets filled. They even offered to hold our beer in their fridge and brought out bottles as needed. It was a great evening, and if I didn’t live a few blocks away from Chiangmai, this would totally be my go-​to Thai. But anytime someone asks me if I’d accompany them to Mango Tree Bistro, I’ll go with bells on!

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch the other day and this was our first visit to this place. The place isn’t very big and they have packed quite a few tables into a relatively small dining area. Hopefully you like who they seat you next to, because you’ll be very close to them!
They do offer lunch specials at good prices, but what we wanted wasn’t on the lunch special menu. We started with the chicken satay and shrimp in a blanket. The chicken satay was good with a nice peanut sauce to dip the chicken in, although still not as good as my Mom can make it! The shrimp in the blanket was just ok and nothing special. For our entrees, we decided to split the pineapple fried rice with chicken (other meat options available) and the cashew chicken. The cashew chicken had one tamale next to it, so I was expecting a little heat, but there was virtually none. Next time, I would probably ask them to crank up the heat a bit. Both dishes were enjoyable, with the fried rice being my favorite.
Service was very good throughout our lunch. Because we were sharing the food, we had more plates on our table than it was obviously designed for. It was a little pricey, especially for a lunch, but I walked out full. This is not a place I will likely crave, but I would go back if I was in the area. Based on some other reviews here, looks like there are deals to be found for this place, so I would look for one of those first.
