All Bros Liquor Store

This is a scary ass liquor store. Given, the neighborhood is a little scary ass and after getting off the train and later bus and camel I kind of wished I had picked up my cheap champagne in Brooklyn. The things you do for good friends for brunch! Anyway, I waddled up to the store after discovering the only other liquor store around the block was still closed at 12pm on a Sunday. Boo, and this was open. They do lotto and stuff here which seemed the priority of the moment. I patiently waited for the lady behind the bullet proof glass to ask what I would like. It’s hard to explain: «I would like a cheap champagne that doesn’t taste like shit», with both language barriers and not being able to see any of the selection. I couldn’t even recall a brand at the moment because I was nervous and flummoxed. Asking the all so necessary question if I like ‘sweet’ or ‘dry’. Does sweet champs exist? I thought it was all dry. She then asked if I wanted red or white wine and I made gestures and loudly said «BUBBLES». But she picked something not great out with bubbles for $ 12 and I waddled back to my friend’s place with oj in anticipation of some bitchin omelettes. I don’t like Elmhurst.
