Just moved to the neighborhood and love, love, love their food. Not only is the food is tasty and great, but they give a great amount of meat and it’s inexpensive. I am a big fan!

If I can give this place 10 stars, I would. Love, love love this place. Located in a mini shopping mall, next to Canelle. I will review that later, but go there another day, or after your amazing meal at Plaka. I had practically everything one the menu, and nothing is bad. Family owned, this is one hidden gem. Staff consists of the family members, so service is fast, impeccable, friendly. I have been coming here for years, and the food is consistently amazing. One of my favorite dish is the Octopodi Skaras. For those that don’t know, it’s grilled octopus. Simply grilled, served with red onions and lemon. That’s all you need. The falafel is absolutely unbelievable. I can’t not get enough of these deliciousness. I eating so many falafel from just about everywhere. So simply, yet so much flavor. Not greasy at all. I’m such a fatty, I ordered some to go all the time. The shrimp marechiara is another favorite. Big jumbo shrimp, probably size 12 with perfectly cooked pasta with rich yet balanced marinara sauce. Or you can try the shrimp Plaka is the same, but served over ouzo with feta. The bifteki is seasoned well, with grilled onions and mushroom. It’s a greek style hamburger.(little secret, I order one to go and use it as a base for my chili at home, no lie). Its awesome sauce. The Mousaka and Pastichio are pretty decent, I ‘ll be honest, I rarely get these, only when we’re in large groups. if you like chicken, the grilled chicken is juicy not dry at all. So many places can’t even execute this simply cooking standard. Oh, if your feeling like dessert, yum yum. Made fresh daily, in house.(word is the owner makes in daily early in the day.) Walnut cake, sure, some now, some for home. The only way I know how to say it, «Got a booty call». It’s a greek pastry that is not to be missed. Ask for it that way, they will know what you’re asking for. O.K., O.K. it’s really galaktoboureko. It’s a custard dessert. Don’t make a mistake by not bringing any home.

This is the best Greek place I’ve been too. My favorite side dish are the Lemon potatos and the Greek salad. The meat is so tender and well seasoned. Our server was very nice and polite. I was with 2 people and we really loved our food. I will definitely come back. One thing I think they should work on is there delivery because I go to Vaughn college and I decided to call for delivery since I had a great time when I was there. When I called they told me they don’t deliver to 22 – 4090th street which is only 7 min away by bike. I was trying to explain that to the guy on the phone but he didn’t give me a chance. So I called again and tried to explain it again and this time a girl picked up and she said he already told you we don’t deliver there. My room mate then told me to call and give them the school address instead of the residence hall address which is the same campus. So my friend called and gave them the 8601 flushing address and they delivered. This got me so angry and to top it off the girl messed up my order. I clearly asked her if my order came with a Greek salad and she said yes what size. I told her I thought it was one size but when my order came I got a Greek salad that came with my order and another Greek salad which I was charged for. I clearly asked her if it came with my order and she said yes. I felt like she did this on purpose. The delivery needs to get better on how they manage the addresses because if I really didn’t want Greek food I wouldn’t have Google mapped the distance and called again. You must be losing a lot of customers delivery for this reason.

Plaka Restaurant has an A grade… This must be stressed due to the false review made by Leo K. Enjoy!

Delivery guy was rude and the food is really average. Although they achieved an A rating recently, they previously had a B sanitary inspection grade rating. So many violations over the years has to make one think.

This is my first time ordering from here. It was good. My cousins and sister enjoyed the lemon chicken and potatoes. I wish they would have given us at least four pita bread instead of two to dip the yogart garlic.

We were unimpressed with delivery. The taramasalata was pretty close to inedible, and it’s a spread I’ve tried at more than a half dozen Greek places in the city. The sausage dish was tasty but the other food we had was greasy and not very flavorful.

Always walked by this place but never tried it til tonight. Ordered thru seamless and the delivery time was not bad. Delivery guy was very nice and friendly. We ordered 3 gyro sandwiches and the pork chops with rice. OMG!!! The gyro sandwiches were so good. Full of meat and very flavorful. I ended up eating all 3 gyros cause my kids got full on the pork chop and rice. After eating one gyro, I just couldnt stop eating. We will definitely order from Plaka again or just go there to eat after some grocery shopping. This was an awesome way to end a Friday night with the family. Thank you for the delicious food!

Yummy Gyro! Delicious sauce! Tons of MEAT!!! Well worth $ 7. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out for their Gyros. The platter I feel is over priced at $ 15(specially since its in Queens). FYI: Gyros are a mix of beef and lamb.

I really liked this place the atmosphere, the customer service, the food, the looks of this place. I’m be coming back. A bit pricy but I guess they gotta make that money. The grilled octopus and calamari were real good and fresh. The gyro was good. My wife didn’t like falafel sandwich because coriander seeds were making it taste bitter. The for small hummus and salad mix wad real good. ask had really fresh flavors. And healthy rate while eating them. Good stuff.

First off, I spent a summer abroad in Greece. I know what authentic Greek food tastes like. Fresh, healthy, savory and delicious basically. I found this restaurant Unilocaling on a gloomy weekend and I was a bit upset I hadn’t found it sooner. We have ordered three times so far. The tzaziki sauce is so good. I enjoy their chicken soulvaki gyros and the platter. Only thing I didn’t enjoy was the overpowering olive oil in my salad one time. The salad was drenched entirely in it. Overall, thumbs up to my new fix when I am craving Greek. Also, it is a bit hard to order the phone. I am not sure if they hang up or the connection is bad.

Pretty good place, been coming here 7+ years. Prices have increased, obviously. But food is still good.

Came into a pretty empty restaurant where the only patrons were an elderly couple who appeared to be sweetly having a date. Service was okay, perhaps could’ve stopped by more often, especially given there was really no one else in the restaurant. 4 choice cold appetizer– ordered the hummus, potatoes and garlic, red pepper, and the tzaziki. All good, distinct savory and great over the warm pita Calamari — nicely battered and fried for a crispy bite Gyro platter– plentiful, nicely seasoned gyro meat. Side salad was refreshing. Fries could’ve been a little better. A bit oily and moist. Pork chops– huge. Heard they were tender and nicely seasoned Pork souvlaki — looked good, grilled well and aptly seasoned. Brother had the lemon potatoes which looked very enticing. No complaints. Overall a really good experience. Best part was that, bc the restaurant was so empty that our dishes came out pretty quickly and tasted like extra effort was put into making them great!

Holy gyro batman! This place never fails to deliver the most amazing gyros I have ever tasted in 28 years of life. I tried it on a whim as one of the places available for online ordering in my area one night when I wasn’t feeling so well and I’m so glad I did! But wait there’s more! They are not riddled with bits of fat .in fact you’d be hard pressed to find any bits or otherwise. The meat? Full of flavor and perfectly seasoned to the last bite and that’s in addition to being so tender, you can tell this stuff has not been sitting there all day and it is so easy to see why! I’m sure they’ve got orders coming in all the time. I’m a good distance away but I still get my food warm and the tzatziki sauce they make is excellent although the meat is so delicious you could eat it with or without. In fact. both are so flavorful that I’ve done just that. eaten and enjoyed the sauce haha and then eaten and enjoyed the gyro. If you’ve ever eaten gyros anywhere else, try this place and you’ll find a new favorite and for the price, it can’t be beat, where else would you find a $ 6.50 gyro sandwich with quality meat in nyc ??

This restaurant has amazing Greek food. Authentic simple delicious dishes that would please anyone’s palette. Friendly and welcoming staff and the huge parking lot offers plenty of parking. I’m here with my friend and we started off with a delicious greek salad as an appetizer along with a spanakopita(spinach and feta with spices in a filo dough) then for main course a branzino that was moist and tender. My pork shishkabob with lemon potatoes was properly prepared and delicious. Generous portion size gave way to a great take home bag. It’s nestled in the corner of this shopping center and is a truely hidden treasure. It’s worth the trip. I’ve been coming here for years when I’m in town.

My dad treated me to dinner at Plaka in honor of my new apartment nearby. The décor is Greek folksy and atmosphere is casual even though the tables have linens. We both like to eat until satisfied not full and left happy having split our order. But you can also get large platters here to share. We started with the Greek salad, which was simple and tasty, followed by a bowl of chicken and rice soup. The soup was a little tangy for my taste but still yummy. But the moussaka… oh the moussaka. It is at once light, rich, and savory. The top layer of custard has the perfect fluffy texture. I want to come back here soon because I there are so many great reviews of the fish but I don’t know if I’ll be able to eat anything else as long as that fantastic moussaka remains on the menu. A great and affordable local restaurant.

Came here with my friend for dinner since it was close to the airport. Had good reviews and a big parking lot. That’s already a huge plus in my book. It was around 6:30 or so, and there was one table in the back with 4 ladies, and the rest of the place was empty. Not a good sign, but hey it’s more or less the beginning of dinner service and it’s a Thursday afterall. No worries. Water came pretty quickly and so did warm pita with olive oil and balsamic. The silverware and plates were a bit on the dirty side though. Ordered a large greek salad, greek sausage, grilled octopus and a chick souvlaki sandwich. The salad was okay, some of the greens should have been picked out… The sausage and sandwich were fine. The octopus is my major complaint. It was diced up octopus with a bunch of onions. Not really what I would expect for $ 17. I expected the normal big 2 or 3 octopus tentacles. But no, I was highly disappointed. Not only that, but the octopus itself, it had this grainy texture and well tasted absolutely bland. I was actually surprised that other reviews mention the freshness of the octopus, because this was definitely not the case for me. It was so bad we actually asked the waitress if the octopus was fresh or frozen, yes we tried to Gordan Ramsey them. The waitress said that is was fresh and walked away. Additionally the service was not that great, there were only 2 tables, and the waitress failed to refill water, failed to check in on us regarding the food. If I lived close by, I would not come here let alone actually drive here. There are obviously far better options for Greek food in the area.

Located deceptively in the middle of a shopping plaza or center, Plaka is a divine Greek restaurant. Each time, I visit, I am always pleasantly surprised that I am too full to contemplate dessert. This meal, I came to try the seafood combination with my hubby. We couldn’t stop talking about it. Extremely high on yummy factor. The quality of their fish, the freshness of the octopus, and the juiciness of the shrimp. It was right then and there that we decided that we were going to have them cater our party.
