Good spot to go after hours … The meat has good flavor and the sauce is good. The price is good. I recommend.

Good carne asada tacos & burritos. Would totally recommend this place. Only downfall is the super long waiting. Service is nice but not that fast.

Good and cheap tacos for a quick stop in between Monterey Park and East LA. The price of the food definately is a deal, most places dont have tacos for under a dollar…

Best tacos around! They are only 95 cents and the burritos are $ 4! They are very generous with the salsa lol it is self served. Every time I ask for extra lemon they always give me a bag full. I recommend you either get Asada or pastor. Check them out.

Good tacos. Non-greasy and the meat is just perfect. The truck is extremely clean and the people are very nice. $ 1 tacos and horchata… can’t get better than that.

I have tried dozens and dozens of tacos from catering trucks to sit restaurants and I have never been disappointed with this catering truck. You must, I repeat… you must try this spot if you’re ever in East L.A.

Hands down, my FAVORITE taco truck! Their al pastor is delicious! Best tasting tacos around. Tried a few others in the area, and they don’t compare! I definitely don’t mind driving out here for these tacos! They are super nice and always hooks it up! LOVETHEM!

We love this place! Sometimes we will choose this taco truck over King Taco! The al pastor is really good and so is the carne asada! My favorite item is the carne asada quesadilla. I love that they provide cucumber, radish, lime and onion all for no extra charge. There is always a wait for your food but worth the wait!!!

Really, I’ll take El Pecas burritos over Mexicatessan’s, King’s Taco’s, or any other nearby place except maybe La Azteca Tortillarilla. I should have gone there tonight instead of to another place.

Al pastor burrito is the bomb! Soooo good! The burrito cost $ 4.00 and tacos $ 1. They give you a bag of radishes, limes, and cut cucumbers. Very clean and the people who run the truck are very nice! They are open everyday from 4:30pm to 11:30pm. You will find parking!

This is one of my reliable, staple goto Taco Trucks. Why? Well it has the best, tasting tacos in the vicinity of Monterey Park. Never mind the fact that this is a truck and not a brick and mortar fine dining establishment, after all, brick and mortar aren’t traditional and tasty taco fillings. What is good are the tacos, burritos, and quesadillas that I’ve had from here on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. This means that these guys get my thumbs up just for their consistency alone! Service is extremely fast and friendly. They do get the change calculations wrong sometimes. Sometimes they give me more $ and other times less $ than they should have. Oh well, it balances out in the end. They apparently should stick to making tacos and not segue into accounting. Go with what you’re great at. The only unusual thing with these guys is that when I ordered an «all-meat» burrito, it literally was just meat wrapped in a flour tortilla. No onions and cilantro inside! It would have been more accurately termed a steak wrap! For reference, the normal burritos here do have everything normal including rice and beans fillers. Drop by here and give them a try sometime. You won’t be disappointed. –Beef Baron

This place is so good. My mother in law and wife been going to this truck for years. The Al Pastor Burrito is to die for, that is my favorite, but all the tacos are great, very generous on salsa and onions/cilantro. You cannot go wrong with anything on the Menu, including the 95 cent tacos. Sometimes another food truck has been down the street, but everyone is at this truck and no one at the other truck speaks volumes about this place. This is another reason to send the wife to her mom’s house! LOL!

I am surprise this place only has a few reviews? Their meats are delicious and tender. My boyfriend gives this truck 2 thumbs up for their buche. I give them kiddos for their pastor. I like that their tacos are not greasy. You can actually taste the flavor! .95 cent is a bargain!!’

Definitely my go-to place for late night and affordable tacos that are delicious. Discovered this place a few years back and it’s been great! Prices are always cheap(95 cent tacos, $ 5 burritos, $ 4 quesadillas, $ 1 amazing Horchata, etc.). The truck is parked across from Denny’s next to a nice little parking lot, and during their hours, the parking lot is empty. Very convenient. Weekends could get pretty crowded, I waited here for about 20 mins for some tacos on saturday lol but it’s worth it! Their Horchata is a must try! They also have very good caramelized/grilled onions for free upon request. They have 3 sauces by the side of the truck and the green one is misleadingly spicy but very good lol

Hands down the best Taco truck in town. I used to live in the neighborhood visited this place at least once every week. I always got the Pastor Tacos/Burritos. The meat is flavorful and juicy. And they season their meat just right! Also the Asada or Chorizo is as good. The location can vary sometimes but look around the corner of Cesar Chavez and Kern av(by the Denny’s) Must try it out!

haven’t done a late night food run since I graduated college a few months ago… but tonight I was craving the tacos… and tacos were what the tummy got! important stuff: — ambiance… it’s a truck. in east la. lols so I mean you get the whole… truck in east la vibe going on here lol can you dig it? — parking, the truck is parked right next to a nice empty parking lot, so order up your tacos and take a squat in the lot — tacos are only 95 cents each! :O every day! all day! they have pastor, asada, chorizo, buche, lengua, and that’s all I can remember at the moment… — they have yummy green sauce here *_* getit. so if you’re looking for some authentic legit tacos, then this place is def the place to go. I’ve had tacos at lots of other places and this one is really pretty bomb. you can totally tell the difference between these and other commercial or more Americanized taco stands/restaurants… but anyways, like i said, ive been craving tacos lately and tonight the boy and i ended up stopping by here for a spontaneous taco run! we ordered one asada taco, and one pastor… but when our order came, they threw in an extra asada taco for free! sweet! we realized later that they closed at 11pm and we were actually their last customers… but heyyy an extra star for that. the asada tacos were super yummies and for less than a dollar each, there’s really nothing to complain about! if you’re ever in the area, or driving by, be sure to check this truck out! carol approved ;)

With all the craziness in LA over food trucks, believe it or not, I’ve never eaten from an authentic Mexican taco truck. Sure I’ve had my fair share of Baja Fresh and the like, but a recent stop at Taqueria El Pecas has converted me., No, not to Catholicism, although this place could start a Vatican sex scandal to rival them all when the choir boys hear you can buy head(cabeza) and some tongue action(lengua) for only 95 cents! TEP was the first stop on an evening East LA taco crawl with some foodie folks and we tried them all: Carne, tripa, Cabeza, lengua, chorizo, pastor, buche and pollo. Across the side of the truck is a shelf with a few different salsas, onion/cilantro mix, cucumber and radish slices to make your tacos your own. All are so tasty, with the buche and cabeza having a more gamey taste. This locale on the street is great because it’s right next to some newspaper vending boxes to serve as a make-shift counter for eating. As I mentioned, they each only cost 95 cents so no one’s going broke making it an AYCE event.

The Taco Chase in 4 parts: I Me: Hi, dahhling, I am craaaving some tacos, I feel I haven’t had Mexican street food in ages!!! CD(Cuban Diva): Weeell, what do you want to do? Me: Breed street(Pan-latino street food) got bigger and bigger and generated more and more complaints and now it’s shut down by the city. I feel partially responsible for the shut down since I let everyone know about it since we sort of discovered it. It’s so annoying that we have no place to eat a whole bunch of different types of street food now. Boo hoo :( CD: It’s Ok, it wasn’t you or me, it was the a***holes that complained. Ah well, time to move on! [flips his gleaming black ringlets of hair] Me: So where do we go? Shall we check out near Breed Street for the little street stand with the heavenly fried quesadillas? I am still craving street tacos, though. [sad face] CD: Thaaaat sounds good, mmmm, the habanero sauce was delish! BTW, the hottie Mexican brothers showed me a new taco truck… let’s go find it! F***K, we are probably on our own because they are both working and won’t answer their phones, how dare they, not answering my call! Then on to chicken necks at Santa Rita truck. Mm…mmmm…m! [eyes half closed in anticipated ecstasy] II The fried quesadillas at this little stand close to Breed St. and Cesar Chavez were airy, crispy, and lightly oily. It was so light that it felt like munching on little slivers of thinnest pastry filled with earthy pork. This ethereal quesadilla drowned in super hot habanero sauce topped with raw red onions was enough to make me forget my surroundings. They have others types of food and desserts of course like huaraches and fried tacos but nothing compares to… you…you!!! The sweet milky gelatin dessert was firm and jiggly and very good, too. Of course, mama makes all of these goodness. III We clambered into the car and started heading towards the general direction of where CD, the human GPS, remembered the taco truck to be have been parked. Then we were stopped by roadblocks and what appeared to be a nighttime street fair? We got out and walked towards a big line of people who were waiting patiently for something. A cute chunky Latina busting out of a tight dress was trying to sing on Mexican Idol in front of makeshift tables of people eating chips and salsa. Anyway, that’s what it sounded like to us. And nope, to our huge disappointment there were no delicious food stands or trucks, just queues of people trying to get free chips and salsa in the chilly evening? We were muttering«What a lame street fair is this anyway?» So we hopped back into our gleaming BMW food mobile to delve deeper into E. L.A. in search of the taco truck. IV Then the hottie Mexican brothers actually answered our call and they were coming to meet us because they just finished work!!! We were relieved and ecstatic and screaming at them on the cell to get directions to Taqueria El Pecas because we were just about to get chicken necks without getting any delicious tacos. The ones at Santa Rita are ok but we go there for chicken necks! Imagine for a moment this motley crew of white, Asian, and Cuban, roaming around E. L.A. with the loudly singing Cuban Diva at the wheels in a gleaming Bimmer SUV. It was quite a sight to behold! I only realized this when someone said, «Wait, it’s like the beginning of a joke. A gay Cuban, a Korean, and a Jew drove into E. L.A. in their shiny Bimmer to meet some Middle Eastern terrorist looking Mexicans. «One of our hottie Mexican bros. is growing a beard to get some middle eastern roles and since the brothers do look Indian/Middle Eastern, Halalalal,[simulated middle eastern yodelling] all of us together were quite a visual combo. Taqueria El Pecas is an unassuming truck with a big yellow sign on its back parked in front of Domino’s pizza. It dishes out real taco truck food such as lengua(tongue), cabeza(brain), al pastor(pork bbq), chicken, and carne asada. There’s a big hunk of standing meat roasting away like shwarma at one end of the truck. They have burritos and quesadillas, too. The tacos are drool worthy real street food, flavorful and tender with spices and long cooking or grilling. They are meaty, fragrant, and enhanced even more with the cilantro and raw onion toppings with a squirt of lime. Just have some horchata with your tacos and you are in Mexican street food heaven with the locals. This beats eating dainty street food at «Street» restaurant on Highland with silverware and servers! Tasty but meh! «Street» doesn’t reduce you to a street carnivore, sloppily shoving delicious bits in your mouth in the cold night air while juices drip onto the pavement and onto your shirt or bag. We then met our friends for some chicken necks afterwards at Santa Rita to round out our happy end of the year taco and street food run. Cheers to everyone and may everyone have wonderful winter food adventures!
