Checkers

I went here yesterday the staff isn’t really the most friendly people. But the food is pretty good considering that it’s fast food. I LOVE the cheese fries and were accommodating when my boyfriend and I asked to get the bacon in the separate container so that’s nice. The waffle cone was surprisingly so good! I was shocked how creamy the ice cream was compared to other fast food restaurants.

Fast and greasy, if that’s your thing they you have come to the right place. I am not a fan of their seasoned fries but when you load them up all you can really taste is the toppings but they also get soggy. The chicken is decent, the burgers are too plump for my taste, sometimes I just order a blt. You can also get a huge sweet tea here for cheap. Theres almost always some kind of 2fer deal going on.

If you haven’t tried Checkers you are doing yourself a great injustice. Checkers is one of the best (fast food) burger joints around. Tragically, I don’t have it that often, but when I do– I go hard.
I usually go for the Big Bufford meal which is a decent sized double decker cheese burger with those incredible seasoned fries, and a medium drink. Then I add on a champ burger for good measure. If I am in a really obese mood, I’ll opt for a milkshake (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, or BANANA).
They have a lot more on the menu like wings, loaded fries, hot dogs, potato skins… but I never had them. I stick to what hasn’t killed me… yet.

fast food is fast food… but old dirty fry oil just makes everything taste like garbage.
Service was good… but the food tasted all the same with the dirty oil… really wasnt a fan.

C for crazy cheap food. More flavorful and better prepared hamburgers as well as crispy seasoned fries (which you have the option of topping with bacon bits, ranch dressing, and other tasty stuff) that makes the wimpy sniveling crap you get at more popular brands look like school cafeteria food. The very wings are delicious and very addicting. Once you take a bite into one, before you know it you are left with a box of bones and jiggly belly.
The food is very inexpensive and there are plenty of deals in which you can get 2 items for $ 3 or $ 4.
Right off the busy Hempstead Turnpike, you don’t come to this particular Checkers for it’s peaceful eating atmosphere. However, it’s one of the nicer Checkers to eat in around that area. It’s best for ordering via drive through, but if you must hunker down and feast on your tasty artery clogging treats, they only have concrete tables and benches outside by the drive through/​take out station.
For great quantity and quality food at competitive prices go to the big C.

Ew! This place had horrible food. The one on Old Country Road is waay better… I drive all the way to Westbury to get checkers even though this is down the street from me. They’re food is always cold and never tastes fresh! Usually checkers has my mouth watering but this place has my mouth screaming «please don’t put that crap in here! I’m begging you!»

This al fresco Checkers along 24 is run by a friendly but insistent manager, whose employees are warm and friendly. Unfortunately but understandably, they do not accept «No strings attached» free coupons.
