Pfeifer & Choi PLLC is an elder law firm based in Long Island, New York. It was founded by elder law attorneys Michael L. Pfeifer and Tae Ethan Choi. Partner Michael Pfeifer served as Co-​Chair of Nassau County Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee and has been peer rated AV-​Preeminent for exceptional ethics and legal skills by Martindale Hubbell. Partner T. Ethan Choi, a former CPA, had been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list (2013 – 2014) where only 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are chosen. The firm helps seniors and the infirm legally qualify for Home Care Medicaid and Nursing Home Medicaid while protecting families from the ruinous costs of long-​term care. Through the creation of a long term care & estate plan, the firm assists middle-​class families in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester and Staten Island protect their home and life savings during a medical crisis such as stroke, dementia/Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other serious ailments.

Business Owner

Michael L. Pfeifer is a partner of the Pfeifer & Choi PLLC firm and has been practicing law since 1987. Mr. Pfeifer is member of the Legal Advisory Board of the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (ADRC). He frequently lectures to other attorneys, CPAs and community groups, which include continuing legal education seminars for the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Academy of Law. He has taught adult education courses in Elder Law throughout Nassau County. He is also a contributor to the Elder and Special Needs Law Journal, published by the New York State Bar Association. He is a past president of Gerontology Professionals of New York and past Chair of the Legislative Sub-​Committee of the Estates & Trusts Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association. In 2005, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society honored Mr. Pfeifer for his community service and philanthropic contributions. He was also named the Kiwanian of the Year.
