My waitress had an attitude! My table was unbalanced in a big way. Our salads had brown stain lettuce. When I got my food my spaghetti was warm cold and my chicken was the same. The taste was decent but the service was bad because of the waitress. I didn’t bother to complaint because I’m just passing by and I didn’t want for our food to be messed with.

The food was ok. I had the lasagna, the menu specified it was their special and it was not as good as I thought it would be but it gets 3 stars for the good service and the courtesy bread is awesome!

The service is fine. Not exceptional, but as far as Atlanta goes and Virginia Avenue goes, it’s on par. The prices are decent and the wine and beer selection is adequate. The food however is pretty average. Not a whole lot of flavor in their sauces and the«house dressing» is equally boring. You’ll never wait to get in here, and it’s better than most of the places within walking distance if you’re staying in one of the hotels… just don’t expect anything other than«a meal» out of the experience.

I’ve eaten there in about two years ago and found that the food was quite good. Well today I had the chance to return to this restaurant. Read the reviews and was quite nervous about returning. Well I have to say the reviews that I read were misleading. We begin our early dinner with the bruschetta as an appetizer. We also got fresh hot bread which was delicious. I had three people in my party. One of my guest ordered the margherita pizza. I was able to taste it and found that it was very close to the Neapolitan cuisine. The only difference is that they chop the tomatoes versus slicing them and there was extra cheese on the pizza. My second-guest ordered the chicken Parmesan which had plenty of chicken to take home. I ordered the Veal Piccata. Each of us were pleased with our entrées And would highly recommend the any of these dishes. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert after our entrées. But the cheesecake looked delicious.

My husband and I are not from around here and decided to walk here from our hotel before we leave in the morning. The food was 1 star quality at best. A previous review of the food being very similar to ketchup and water is completely accurate. I would prefer to go to a fast food Fazolis restaurant over here any day. Service was very good, but without good food, service doesn’t make much of a difference, unfortunately. I would find a different venue for your dining of choice.

The service is good. Atmosphere is open and can get loud. There were not many customers so the noise was not a factor. They have private rooms available. However, the Italian dishes have been Americanized to a point that the only thing Italian is their name. Not a place I wish to repeat.

When you are an Italian restaurant you are expected to know how to cook and the bar is just a little higher. I have eaten here a few times before getting on Unilocal and I can tell you that if you are looking for Italian food this place isn’t going to do it. The food isn’t fresh, its not prepared well and what you do get is just not Italian food worthy of the name. The staff is unfriendly and the manager is a drunk near as I can tell. However, lucky for them, it is located between an Arby’s and a KFC, so its better than those two. Hence the two star rating.

I was expecting a run of the mill experience. I was pleasantly surprised. All the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was like eating in moms italian kitchen, all fresh from scratch. So much food I’m stuffed, but trying to fit more in because it’s really yummy and comfort food style

In spite of all the negative reviews, I must say, we received Great service. They were so attentive, helpful with the menu, and understanding when we wanted to stay even after the bill was paid. It is one of the best locations in the area if one is staying at a nearby hotel and needs another option aside from hotel food options, this is a good bet. It’s a cozy little restaurant close to the airport and perfect place to meet if meeting up with old friends and you’re car-less like I was. Don’t give up on Giovanna’s yet…

Meh. I was tired from a long day of traveling from the west coast and this place was near my hotel. Should have checked Unilocal first. The food was mediocre but the wine was great. The only thing this place had going for it is that it had a prime location with all the hotels surrounding it.

Considering the area, near the airport on Virginia Ave, they should own the sit down market. Prices are very reasonable and that should be a hint. Food was actually edible but service is severely lacking. The veal Marsala, for the price was good, pasta watery and bread was served after the salad and entrée as an after thought, wine was also offered after the meal had been finished. It’s close, in an unsafe neighborhood but don’t expect much and your expectations will be met fully.

We came in the Monday before Christmas, after picking up family from the airport. We were the only table in the restaurant around 8:30pm. We were in a cheerful Christmas mood and the vibe here was quite depressing– drab boring generic décor and most of the staff just seemed subdued. The older gentleman who sat us was not warm and welcoming. The young male server was nice and pleasant but that is the most positive thing I can say about our experience here. I actually felt sorry for him that he seemed to have more potential to be working at such a lame place. The food was completely lacking– bland, uncreative, BORING. This restaurant has a great location surrounded by all those hotels– I imagine that is the ONLY reason it is able to stay open– customers who are tired travelers and don’t have many other options around. Well you do people– save your money and go just a bit further down the street to the British pub Manchester Arms– MUCH better food and super cute atmosphere.

Prosciutto pizza with the prosciutto cut into cubes. Salmon filet over cooked, tasteless. We will not go again, very disappointed, save your money.

I was looking for Italian while in the area for work, read the reviews and wanted to go to Volare instead but it was closed for a private event. Because the reviews were less than stellar, I hesitantly came here. But I’m glad I did! It’s definitely a more homey atmosphere and is not over the top by any means. But the service was friendly, the food served quickly and the eggplant parm DELICIOUS. I’ll come back next time I’m in town.

The only reason to really come here is if you just want something convenient to your hotel room – do not expect anything special or memorable. Our server was nice enough and I enjoyed the bread with oil, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper, but otherwise I can’t really say anything particularly positive. The restaurant seemed to be out of lot of things and the wine, well let’s just say I found a safe malbec. We had 5 people in the group and about half of our meal was incorrect – he was happy to exchange my pizza but it took another 20 minutes and by then, the rest of our party had finished eating. The portions were pretty large but that’s typical of any Italian restaurant. So, my best description of this place… edible but I could train a monkey to make better Italian. They are really only getting 2 stars instead of 1 because our server was pleasant and I still believe that customer service holds a lot of value.

I had a work lunch here. The place is nice and clean, staff is helpful. My food was horrible. I ordered the eggplant parmesan. It was soggy, bland and covered in cheese. Felt like I was at the Minnesota State Fair. They gave me a big portion of noodles, which I didn’t even try. The Olive Garden is better food and more authentic than this place.

Giovanna’s is a hit or miss type of restaurant. Grilled pork chops are very flavorful. Stuffed mushrooms, kinda greasy and lacking much flavor. Fortunately for this visit, it was a hit! My last visit I ordered the pork chops(grilled) lunch dish, which were cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. In addition to the two chops you get, you have diced potatoes, which accompany your meal. Bread is always nice, free, and provided with olive oil for dipping, mixed in with their own set of spices. The exterior of this place is pretty boring, and attached to a hotel doesn’t make you expect much. The interior to this restaurant is lovely, with a nice marble series of counter tops, spacious seating, very clean all around with a series if flat screens. As others have commented, the price can get a little expensive for what you’re getting. Still, they do have a lunch menu and deals can be had for around $ 8. Also for lunch visitors, seems like the sweet spot is between 11 and 11:30am, as the restaurant seems to always be dead and you have your pick of seating. Service at times can be slow, but it seems that may be due to very high wait staff turnover. Practically every visit, our table was served by someone in training, but they don’t seem to have problems getting bread out to tables to run interference, which makes wait times much less noticeable. Probably not a smart idea to sit near the desserts display, which has a series of awesome cakes, pies and general pastries on display. Nice place, tasty dishes(some of them anyway) and a nice change of pace for lunch
