Sammy Cheezecake

I was riding om Washington Road about to hot 285 when I remembered hearing about this place on Unilocal of course. The place is non-​descript but I’m happy to say the desserts are AMAZING!
I purchased a slice of Red Velvet and a slice of Strawberry cake. One bite and you are hooked. The owner told me he does bake to order with advance notice. I definitely will be returning. Please support this black owned small business. The owner is a gent as well

Another place I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed yet but should have. I love this place. I first heard about the owner thru a friend of a friend type thing at the job and was happy to hear he wasn’t far from home. I ordered a highly recommended Red Velvet cake for a bday and it was THE BEST red velvet I’ve ever had. Everyone that tasted it kept asking where I got it. Since then I’ve stopped in for a slice of cheesecake and the vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. Both were amazing and the fresh strawberries are always a nice touch. The only problem I had was I ordered a cake for Fathers Day (a Sunday of course) and although they’re open on Saturdays, I was told I would need to pick up the cake on Friday due to some scheduling situation. I was concerned that having the cake sit around for two days instead of one might ruin it but they said no problem, just keep it in the fridge. Well… it was still tasty but two days in fridge definitely changed the texture a bit. People still loved it but not sure I’d be willing to do that again. Either way, please support this business! It’s been great watching it grow from the beginning where it was just the owner up to now when the staff is growing and patrons are coming and going consistently.

While visiting Atlanta last week a friend bought over some slices of Red Velvet Cake. I am a cake connoisseur raised by excellent NC and NJ bakers. I never thought anyone’s cakes could stand up to my grandmothers or my aunts cakes until I had this Red Velvet Cake. It was the best cake I have EVER had in life. I was truly blown away. I have no idea who Sammy is but I love him already. Wow. I am with the other poster, the cake was more than 5 stars and mind you I haven’t set foot in the place but I will when I return to Atlanta. Actually I plan to call to see if a cake can be mailed to me.

Love the cakes! The best cake around. Moist, fresh and almost like my Mom makes. Its a great treat with a glass of milk to end the week.

AMAAAAZZING!!! Great spirit and great cake! Tasted the red velvet cake for the 1^st time and it was AWESOME. Going back for the infamous cheesecake. If you don’t enjoy sweets, just go to enjoy the great company!

Recently moved from NY to Atlanta. So cheesecakes and red velvet cakes are a delicacy. Finally found a place where those cakes are done right. I also had the pleasure of talking with Sammy, who is very pleasant and professional. You can tell, he does cakes the right way, so tasty and creamy. His place is located in a small strip mall on Washington Rd near Camp Creek Pkwy, don’t drive too fast cause you might pass it by. Trust me, you don’t want to pass this bakery up. So far, I’ve tried his cheesecake and red velvet, big slices and damn good. Next will be the german chocolate and carrot. They also have cupcakes and the prices are great. I’m a happy man now since I’ve discovered Sammy’s and you will be very happy as well. Enjoy.

Trying to get my fiancé to appreciate «my» side of town and the eateries here. Happy to say this cheesecake made a great impression on his. He has sampled cheesecake all over the city and said this is one of the best. The most awesome part is it’s right around the corner from my house. Only bought slices this time but will be back for a whole cake for his birthday and holidays.

I can not begin to tell you how delicious this food was! I had red velvet and a piece of plain cheesecake. I am ashamed to say that they were both gone in less than 24 hours. This man truly has a gift. Not only are his cakes and cheesecakes good but he had a wonderful spirit. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile and warmth that only radiates from someone who is truly happy. I will be a returning customer. I don’t care how «out of the way» it is.

Well had a wedding client come by my restaurant and said you have to have his stuff in your restaurant!
Meet him personally love beautiful contagious personality and great staff.
Got home and well took one bite of the red velvet and and fell back like Sanford & Son reaching for his chest calling for lizabeth lol … The cheese cake like thumper in bambi and the strawberry cake ummmmm running out of breath delicious for a minute went to heaven until I came back to reality…

AMAZING cakes and cupcakes! Order ahead for cupcakes and cakes or walk in for cake slices. Either way, this is a rare find… completely amazing cakes and humble, talented bakers. Vanilla cake is my favorite!

The best hidden secret in southwest Atlanta! Cheesecake and cake slices are among the best you will encounter! When I first started going, I was there like twice a week! My favorites are red velvet, strawberry and chocolate fudge cakes and I can’t leave out the snickers cheesecake! Haven’t had anything better!
