Perry’s Pet Grooming

Perry’s Pet Grooming is wonderful. Perry does a wonderful job, my little Boo requires special care for his sensitive skin, and he gets it at Perry’s. The entire staff is friendly and professional.

I’ve had terrible experiences with dog groomers; one went so far as to puncture my dog’s eye (with scissor or comb)! Perry listened to our traumatic previous experiences and went out of his way to make me and my dog feel safe. I can now happily say that Lola no longer trembles in fear the second she steps into the groomers. And the haircuts are TOP quality. Many thanks to Perry and his staff!

This place is wonderful. It’s a small place run by nice people that love animals. Anyone that complains about Perry has underlining issues and needs psychiatric help. I feel bad that he has to deal with nasty people that do not take responsibility for their animals. God bless you Perry. We love you. Thanks for your hard work and caring attitude towards people and animals.
As for Nick O, you have mental issues that need addressing. Why would you want to ruin a good business with your psychotic rants?

I have been to many groomers but Perry is the best he treats all pets like they were his own. He loves them and always gives them the best treatments and cuts. He strives for perfection and achieves it. I would never take Lexi anywhere else. If you know Perry you have to love him. He is the best in town and all around.

BACKDROP
Dropped my dog off for the first time in April at 9 am. Perry said he would he would be done by 12, he was done by 2. No big deal Went to pick him up with my gf. The grooming was done very nicely but shorter that we expected. I said very easily «oh wow it looks nice but its a little too short» (my gf didn’t even recognize my dog at first) It’s something I’ve said a few times in other grooming places if I thought it was too short or sometimes not short enough. Well you would have thought I insulted his mother. Clearly he viewed this as an invidious statement. He thew his hands up in the air, had a hissy fit, declared nastily «I don’t know what you people want! and hastily went to the back room not to be seen again. Wow am I on Pranked or Punked? Never in my life have I seen someone act like such a primmadonna. Only on TV lol Ok, so we spoke pleasantly for a minute of two with his partner who is the likely the business/​public relations part of the business and we concluded next time maybe we can better describe the length we want. I’m sure as fellow dog owners reading this you are aware of the trials and tribulations you sometimes go though when patronizing a new groomer before you finally receive the grooming you are aiming to receive for your dog.
FAST FORWARD
Last week I made an appointment for this week. The day of the appt (I already took off from my job to take my dog in) my gf gets a call from a young girl «oh I’m sorry Perry had an emergency so he has to cancel the rest of his appointments today» No offer to reschedule just CANCEL. Is this how one runs a business? No, of course you apologize profusely and offer to reschedule to keep the business of your client. I called Perry’s shortly after and was speciously informed by this young girl that the near future was booked due to others rescheduling and nothing was available for my dog until beginning of July!!, (more than two weeks). «Oh, we might call you if someone cancels but that never happens» And all this after I said I can drop him off at any time, not just the early afternoon.
CONCLUSION
I no longer feel comfortable having my dog groomed here. I believe that he blacklisted my dog and that he cannot take the slightest criticism. If you want to groom your dog here, I suggest you keep your mouth shut if you don’t think the job is perfect.

Recently needed to find a new pet groomer. Everyday as I dropped my son off at school I would see Perry’s sign and the pleasant view of the inside of the business through a large picture window. I am so glad I called and made an appointment. His prices are fair, everyone was very personable and most importantly he gave my the dog the hair cut I wanted for my yorkie (with a smile). We will be back in the spring!

I have been to more then a few dog groomers in Nassau county and I have a horrible story to tell about all of them. From stealing her collar, sending her home with someone else and cutting her nails so short they wouldn’t stop bleeding. So I haven’t taken Lexy to a groomer in a awhile for the fear of the next worst thing that could happen to her.
I have drove by Perry’s a few times and was always impressed with how clean and boutique like the place looked from the outside. Today I finally called and made an appt. When I arrived I told Perry all of my concerns with past experiences and he put me at ease with understanding my concerns and even showing me in the back with how clean it was. Every cage had its own bed and the dogs in them looked very at ease and not stressed at all. The whole place was actually immaculate which was also impressive. After the little tour we went over the cut in detail and if I had any concerns or specifications.
He called me when she was done and when I came and got her he told me how she was and I know she could be a little pain, but I could tell they were very good with her. She did not look stressed at all like other places I brought her to. I told him she didn’t like bows so he put a cute bandana on her and gave her a little toy for free.
This is definitely going to be Lexy’s new groomer and I would recommend this place to everyone who wants the special care in a clean place for their little furrbaby!

Perry is the best. His place and his team are fantastic. I have and continue to recommend him anyone requiring pet grooming. Without a doubt, this is the cleanest and friendliest place around.

Absolutely loved this place! Such great vibes and a very calm environment, i had recently adopted a rescue dog and although he is a love, he is still very timid and can come off aggressive towards people. I had put off bringing him to get groomed for some time in fear of how he would react but after going to Perry’s I no longer have that fear. He was amazing with my bear, I had explained prior to bringing him about bears ‘issues’ with being around big groups of dogs so Perry suggested to bring him later in the day (usually when he’s closed) so that bear wouldn’t be overwhelmed on his first visit! Bear was bathed and groomed in an hour. and did not want to leave. It took more time to get him to leave Perry’s side then it did for the appointment! Such a loving guy he is amazing at what he does. Bear and I can’t wait to make another appointment with perry!

I found Perry’s on Unilocal and thought I would try it from the great review. Perry was super accommodating and met me during non-​business hours to work with my schedule. Minnie took to him right away and he sat with me and discussed what I was looking for. When I came back to get Minnie she was super happy and looked gorgeous! I would highly recommend Perry’s and we will definitely be back!

I noticed a new dog grooming place on Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway and decided to give it a try because the last grooming visit my Peketese, Roxy, experienced was problematic. The previous groomer had stated that my dog was quite a challenge and i noticed that Roxy seem traumatized. Well, I’m so glad I took her to Perry’s Pet Grooming! This place is owned and operated by Perry himself and it shows. He was very kind on the phone and made me feel eager to bring Roxy in. The place is decorated very simply and elegantly. Perry himself greeted me warmly and gave his professional opinion (after I asked) on what to do to make Roxy look her best. At the precise time he had promised, Roxy was done and boy, did she look (and smell) fabulous!!! Her fur had been very matted and after I asked, Perry said she was very frightened. Seeing her reaction, he proceeded to use scissors and not the buzzer she was so freaked out by. I can honestly recommend Perry’s to anyone looking for a great groomer and very professional service.
