HIdden gem in East Rutherford. This place doesn’t even have a sign outside, but you’ll always catch the owner mingling with patrons. The food is incredible and authentic along with the margaritas.

Worst experience ever. I travel for a living and I enjoy trying out new places. Especially Mexican restaurants. When I walked in the waitress didn’t greet me. She actually looked at me and walked away. So I waited for a minute. I finally caught a different waitress and asked for a table. She walked me to the dining area and pointed towards a table and told me to go there. So I sat there and waited. I had to ask for a menu. She finally brought me one and left. Did not ask me if I would like anything to drink. 2 more groups came in after I did. The staff waited on them. Gave them menus immediately and also fixed them drinks and took their orders. I waited for 30 minutes. Every time I tried to flag for a waitress they looked at me and then walked away. After 30 minutes of waiting with a menu and no drink I finally gathered my things went and found a waitress and told her I was leaving since they could not seem to take my order. She just shrugged and walked off. I do not see how this place receives 5 star reviews. I did not think the staff was friendly. And they certainly were not helpful.

Fiesta Hut is our favorite date night restaurant. Great Mexican food, it’s consistent and out of all the date nights we’ve had the food has never deviated. Ambience– very casual, seems like it’s all of the locals having dinner. Staff– always friendly. They seem to know everyone’s name. They know my fiancé and my name and our special margarita order. So cool. They have the best margaritas. Food– we come here often, we don’t need the menu. Everything tastes great, the mole sauce is the best I ever had. I recommend the beef enchilada with mole sauce. The guacamole is super fresh, can’t eat enough of it. I love the California tacos and pork tostadas. If it’s your first time just make a combo platter. It is family owned, the owner is so nice. We will keep coming here for date night. If you are ever in East Rutherford, NJ you have to stop by Fiesta Hut. Great food, great service, great staff! You can’t go wrong.

One of the best Tex mex in New Jersey. They used to have three locations and now this is the last one left. Straight up nothing fancy just yummy melty cheese goodness. The nachos are outstanding — a round tortilla that’s been broken up into triangular wedges with a thin layer of refried beans over which some cheese is melted and with a smattering of minced jalapeños. Equally good, but different are the lighter and fluffier cheese crisps. The pork is outstanding especially in the enchiladas. Not a big fan of the chicken. The salsa is yummy and spicy, and the chips are crispy and made in house. We careful to not get filled up on them!

Horrible! NOTHING good about this place! We walked in to a dark entryway and were not greeted by anyone. My friends were already seated. We waited a HALFHOUR to be acknowledged and receive menus and water which we had to ask for! 45 minutes in we finally got the smallest bowl of stale chips and verrry spicy salsa. Our kids had to sit at a separate table because they could not accommodate us. The menu is sparse and so are the entrees. After an HOURAND A HALF we got our food! For $ 15 I got 3 tiny enchiladas on a large plate with no rice, no beans and nothing else on the plate. No presentation whatsoever. Kids hated the food as well. My daughter, who loves Mexican food, hated it. WE both had stomach aches for 24 hours afterwards! I would NEVER go back here.

Good Mexican food. The service was a bit slow but it was very busy on a Friday night when we went. The queso dip there is delicious. Had the burritos. they were very good. Would go back.

This place has seriously the best real Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. YES the food takes forever to get to you but that’s what happens when you have a real cook who is making everything from scratch. This place is so good that I honestly believe the 1 star reviews on here are fake reviews from competitors who are hating on this place. No it’s not a fancy city restaurant, but who cares, if you’re coming for the food and you like Mexican food you should definitely not be disappointed.

Anyone who’s been going here for an extended period of time knows what’s up. If you want a chain Mexican food restaurant then don’t go here. If you want the best authentic Mexican food in NJ, you’re in the right neighborhood. Best salsa I’ve ever had. My family has been going here since I was born. I’ve lived in California for 3 years and have not found anything that compares to Fiesta Hut. I’m in town for a week and can’t wait to have my fix!

I don’t what or where people who have written reviews about this place eat because this place has the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant Mexican or otherwise. Everything seemed microwaved, soggy and bland. Guacamole was tasteless margaritas were just plain sour tasting at $ 8 glass. IL Mexicano on Main St and Mexican Cantina on Van Houten in Clifton makes this food look like and taste like dog food, Heck even Taco Bell outshines this place. I almost never write reviews but the reviews here are so far off the mark I thought it was necessary. This is the first restaurant from Unilocal that I have ever been to where the reviews were so blatantly wrong. Kristen D’s review is a joke don’t believe me go eat there.

Reading everyone’s reviews of this establishment is quite comical First I must say if you are not a regular visitor at the fiesta hut then it’s completely understandable that certain things would frustrate you. I have been dining at the fiesta hut since I was a kid and the service menu and décor has always remained the same. They have great unprocessed authentic Mexican food. This is not Chevys or taco bell so if you are looking for huge greasy portions then this is not your place. The restaurant is family owned and everyone is very nice It is never really crowded and I suggest just coming in and seating yourself. Yes the service is often slower than other places you may be used to but order some sangria and ask for extra chips and you’ll survive. Overall this restaurant is my favorite in the area for Mexican I will continue to return hope you will give it a chance.

Food here is amazing and fresh! It’s family owned and operated! Yes the service tends to be slow, but imagine your Mom serving food in her own house and trust me it won’t bother you. Dinah is incredibly friendly and sweet.

We have dinner in here once a week. It’s a nice relaxing atmosphere. No rushing us out, the staff is just as relaxed and friendly. The food is so amazing I often crave it. I haven’t had a single thing on the menu I have not loved. This place is not for you if you are in a hurry or high maintenance.

This restaurant is wonderful. I’m not too sure about why the other reviews are not that great. I’ll break this place down for you. Service: This isn’t the type of place where you will be served on hand and foot. Its just a mom and her son, sometimes another waiter, that run the place. They are really nice, but mostly just laid back people. They’re always walking around, but the environment is lax. This is a REAL Mexican joint. They run it that way. If you’re looking for super bubbly waitresses coming up to you every 5 minutes, don’t go here. I prefer service this way. Its a little bit slow, but you enjoy it more. Food: Delicious. I wouldn’t go here if it wasn’t. Its completely authentic. Its hot, spicy, and fresh. All of things you want your Mexican food to be. Their salsa is some of the best. I think if they bottled it and sold it, they would make a killing. The chipotle bbq and jalapeño peppers with the special cheese on top is one of my favorite dishes period. The chipotle BBQ peppers smell like smokey heaven. You can get pretty much any combination you want — burrito, taco, enchilada. Atmosphere: Laid back. This is like you’re going to your friends mom’s house, and she’s going to cook you a bomb dinner. Nothing fancy, just some good food. I really suggest trying this place. I’ve been many times, and will return many more.

***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid I would put zero stars if i was given the option. We went due to a fistful of good reviews on Unilocal,we love spanish food and was expecting some delicious food! We get to the unmarked front door, the entryway which was a blacked out bar. We stood there looking around trying to see if anyone was going to seat us, nope. The waiter shouts to just sit down. ok. we sit down, 5 minutes pass and we get a menu and he takes our drink order he says that they have a few margarita flavors — — — the menu says frozen available. We ask for a frozen margarita… they don’t have the flavor we want or frozen… fine. we settle with something less. At this point the waiter informs us that the bartender didn’t make the mix because they were cooking in the kitchen… wat. This should have been the third red flag when we should have just given up, but we prevailed. Ten minutes go by and a table sat down after us had their order taken before us and had their apps given before we even were given the chance to order our main meal. double wat. THEN we finally order and was informed that the lady cooking doesn’t know how to make steak… the cook wasn’t there apparently, he said. At this point we said we would pay for the drink and leave. The server asked why we were going to leave– we mentioned all of the below– –poor service –no host –menu choices not available –bartender as the cook he still didn’t get it. If i wanted an inexperience person to cook me authentic food i would jerry rig myself some spanish food from shoprite and call it a day. How can this place be in service for«30 years» and run a business like this. AVOID ***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid ***********avoid

Amazing food, friendly staff! Yummy frozen margaritas. Anything I’ve had is delicious; from the apps to the soups to all the entrees. Husband always gets same thing which are the chicken tostadas. I like to always try diff things. Never disappointed.

Like some of the other reviewers stated there is no sign out front. This place has been here for many years and seems to be going strong. Nicole b.‘s review was dead-on. I pretty much felt the same way about this place. As I glanced over the menu, I thought the price of the combo plates were a bit high. The combo I had consisted of a taco, enchilada and tostada and cost $ 15. It would have been nice if they threw a scoop of rice or some salad with the entrée. The food was good. The chicken in the enchilada was tasty as was the enchilada sauce, I was just expecting something more for that price. The service wasn’t that great. It looked like there was just one waiter working. Our pitcher of soda didn’t come until after the entrees came out. It was hard to get the waiter because he was going back and forth to the kitchen. Also took a while to get the check. So the food was good, but a bit pricey and no side dish came with it and the service was off. I guess I was expecting more from Fiesta Hut.
