Magic Scissors

Love this place! Amin usually does my blonde highlights and they always come out perfectly every time!!! He does it just the way I ask :) Maria occasionally does my highlights too and they also come out perfectly! Highly recommend magic scissors. Maria and Amin are so kind!

Magic Scissors was recommended to me by a friend and I was excited that I finally found a place in the area that someone liked. I wish it lived up to what I was told. First the girl that was supposed to cut my hair showed up to the salon 15 minutes after my appointment was scheduled, never apologizing for being late but came over and introduced herself and told me she would be right back. A few minutes later a guy came over and led me to the sink. I figured he was going to wash and the other woman would be back to cut my hair, I was wrong. (The sink to wash my hair was extremely uncomfortable) The man who never introduced himself so I don’t even know his name then brought me over to the chair and started asking what I wanted done. I at that point figured out he was actually the one that was going to cut and not the girl that I had scheduled with. Anyway I was still hopeful to get a good cut because he seemed to know what he was doing. The cut itself was not bad except for the points where he kept getting his brush stuck in my hair (I have very straight hair and rarely get knots) but then came the blow dry. it was the most awful blow dry I have ever had. So bad that it has been a few days now and I still have a burnt mark on my head. It was painful and he destroyed my hair. I went home to inspect after and he broke my hair so bad that I have to go buy new products just to control the stray broken hair. Clearly after that experience I would never go back.

Magic Scissors is FANTASTIC! I’ve been to SEVERAL salons, including the snooty ones on Newbury, and have never had such a great experience. My hair has never looked this good. Denise and Maria are amazingly talented. My hunt for the best salon is over… I have found it.

Denise, my friend of 20 years (we grew up together) is one of the best hairstylists ever!!! No joke, she is also a Paul Mitchell Educator and is very creative. I was her first client… she started cutting my hair even before training @ 12!!! I’ve seen her give a men’s fade haircut with craft scissors and it came out great!!! Pure talent and is an excellent colorist. Can do any up-​do on all ethnicity’s. Also, does, great braiding and extensions!
OK, enough bragging about my friend :) The salon is very stylish and is a Paul Mitchell focus salon so they use there products and color. They also offer facials, massages, mani-​pedi, and makeup application. If you are looking for a nice place to go that is not ridiculously priced and sick of chains because you never know what to expect, then check them out and ask for Denise. You will not be disappointed.
