Twin Rivers Animal Hospital

Aside from the outrageous price. They’re more like a salesman than a vet! Always try to sell extra lab test and blood work. I took my dog in because he was throwing up a lot. After all the blood test and labs my bill came out to $ 775!!! Only for them to tell me that he’s probably throwing up a lot because he’s nervous and trying to get use to a new environment. Then this year, I went for an annual checkup. I was charged $ 300 and didn’t even get all the vaccination I needed. Then they called me and told me that my dog might have chronic Lyme disease because the blood work came back abnormal. So just to make sure, I was charged another $ 75 for a urine test to make sure if my dog actually have Lyme disease. But what pissed me off the most is that they told my boyfriend a different story. They told me they found something in his blood test. But they told my boyfriend they found something in his poop. They never even examines my dogs poop!

If you like exorbitant prices and a revolving door of doctors, this is the place for you! It’s very sad, used to be a great vet. But no longer. They even lied to me about a certain drug my dog had to go on for the rest of her life. I could only get 6 months of pills at a time, because they said that our dog had to come in every six months for bloodwork, to check liver levels. My new vet gave me a full year and basically said that what they told me was bogus. Just another example of them caring more about the dollars than your pet.

I used to go to this hospital when it was under different management about 9 years ago. However this was my first visit in 6 years. Other than the new faces, I didn’t notice anything different. I didn’t even know they were under new management until I looked at reviews on Unilocal,after my visit. It’s kind of hard to believe some of the negative reviews that people wrote, but all I can do is talk about my experience…
My cat somehow got a huge laceration on his back. So I rushed to Twin Rivers Animal Hospital right away and came as a walk in. I was a hot mess! Nervous, upset, and most of all scared of the possible bill. They made me feel comfortable and calmed me down within seconds of getting there. They immediately took my cat to the back and within 10 minutes, he was checked out. About another 10 minutes later, they called me into the room. They offered me 2 options; The works which was outrageously priced and then a cheaper option. There was few hundred dollar price difference, which I thought was crazy. But at least I had options… A huge plus to my situation is that since I was basically a new customer, they had waived the examination fee. Which was great! I’ll admit, I did not have time to shop and compare prices with other places, but even with that said, I still feel like their prices in general are a little high. However, when it comes to medical services, you don’t necessarily wanna go with the cheapest price either. So other than their questionably high prices, I thought the service was superb. Their entire staff was very friendly. I also really like that they followed up a few days later to check on my boy and they even sent a very nice card in the mail showing their thanks for my business. When it comes to running a business, little things like that can sometimes make a huge impact.
In short, I was very pleased with the all around service that I recieved from Twin Rivers Animal Hospital from beginning to end. I will definitely stay loyal to them.

Update: I had to update my previous horrible post. Dr. Jay, Morrone & Sinclair all left… I was about to change vets when Dr. Cicci left, and the new vets they hired are all very good. Dr. Carpenter is super duper wonderful. I try to get her if possible. Plus they extended their hours to 11PM M-​F. And they have all day Sat and Sun hours. For someone like me who work (so I can pay my vet bills) the hours are wonderful. The techs and front desk are also all very good. I’m definitely staying with Twin Rivers and although Dr. Carpenter is wonderful, I wish Dr. Jay and Morrone would come back.

Years ago, before Twin Rivers became VCA, the care was wonderful and reasonably priced. They are now overpriced and care more about money than the animals. They try to sell you unnecessary and expensive surgeries, pointless tests and x-​rays, and overpriced special dog foods, vitamins, and flea treatments. Save yourself some money and go somewhere else. They tried to tell me my dog needed a painful surgery for fluid in his ear flap. If I didn’t do it, then the dogs ear would be somewhat disfigured. The dog was 11 at the time and had furry ears. Surgery for Vanity? Needless to say, we didn’t do it. The fluid went away within a month or 2 and the dog is still fine today at 15 years old.

Shame on you for trying to gouge grieving pet owners! My Grandmother’s cat was really sick last week, and you guys told her it would cost $ 600 just to LOOK AT her cat. Excuse me? Who DOES that?
I also have a cat and have never had to pay that much for a vet to look at her. That’s DISGRACEFUL!

Excellent Vet and animal loving staff. I had to take my dog here on a emergency call and they went above and beyond.
