The Cape Cod Dog

BRILLANT locals bring a highlight to our little town. Warm people, with a great selection of things for your dog (and your cat!). toys, food, treats, advice… you cant go wrong with this place! and it is called the cape cod dog, but they have things for your cat too!

This place really saved my dogs day as we ran out of kibble while on vacation. The Unilocal app pointed us here and they had the hard to find food that is hard to find out here.

We’ve been meaning to get up to Cape Cod Dog for over a year now. As the summer moves quickly along on this spit of sand, the days go by faster and you just run out of time. Jack and Jill (1 ½ year old golden’s) the brother and sister team that have dug up our yard and are usually wet 5 to 6hours a day from swimming out front. They were promised this trip with the full understanding they could go inside the store. This is big. JIll’s timid but Jack’s all about big kisses when he meets somebody. Through the door they go to CCD. Greeted like rock starts by the staff the excitement, smells and toys are overwhelming. Jack is like a drunk in a liquor store. His sensors are overloaded with bones, biscuits, toys, and food. Helping to bring him to some sense of normality his sister Jill cautiously directs him to the register area where treats of salmon await. Not one, not two, but several. Jack falls in love and Jill patiently waits for more. We shop.
Great selections of dry and canned foods with a complete concentration on not only the best but the most organic. Toys and treats that are delicious to dogs and will not harm them. As we shop, pictures are taken and posted on FB. Both smile for the camera as only these to jokers can. More treats. Another regular comes in and although a cute dog the treats win over.
As we prepare to leave, our ever so obedient twins jump up into the arms of our new best friend kissing her good bye. They enjoyed salmons skin bones at home and loved their Wellness canned food with their meal that night. They went swimming just after, ran through the low tide mud, and then jumped up on the new cushions on the deck furniture.

This store is so adorable. There are so many unique and healthy items for your furry friend! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this store enough. My dog loved the jerky from 2jacksnacks, too!

Cape Cod Dog is the best pet shop on Cape Cod for toys, dog food, leashes, dog beds or treats. If you’re on Cape Cod, its the perfect rest stop for dogs on Route 6 on your way up or down Cape Cod.
I was so glad to find CCD when I moved onto the Cape a few years ago– so often dog stores cater only to small dogs, or have a really limited stock, or have owners that are kind of absent. Cape Cod Dog is the opposite: the owners are ALWAYS there, they have a jam packed sales room full of treats and toys I’ve never seen anywhere else– their prices are completely reasonable, and the owners quickly become friends, remembering every dog that crosses their doorway.
They carry an amazing array of raw dog foods and natural dog foods, so if you’re on cape for vacation, don’t bother packing it, just buy some on Cape. They carry dog sweaters, collars and leashes in big dog sizes… they have a ton of RuffWear gear (waterproof, perfect for the beach and boating) and a phenomenal array of treats… salmon, duck, turkey, chicken, cranberry, pumpkin, peanut butter, kelp… there are usually samples on hand of many.
My dog is sick, and the owners are always concerned with how she’s doing, asking about us on Facebook and twitter. When I bring her in, they always help me try to find new treats to entice her with.

Never has dog food looked more appetizing. I think I was more intrigued by the faux-​chocolate-​covered dog treats than my actual dog would have been. Definitely find some great gifts for pet owners here — in the «barkery» and elsewhere. Tons of cute and unique collars and toys. We upgraded our dog’s tags and got the cat some potent cat nip encased as a cigar.
