Providing luxurious travel accommodations just a short block from downtown, the Inn has been referred to as Easton’s «Inn of Distinction.»

Each of the five rooms at our Inn is unique. All are furnished with antique & authentic antique reproduction furniture, gorgeous fabrics, European pillow top mattresses & luxurious linens. In restoring the Inn we have also included modern conveniences including air jet tubs and steam showers. Cable TV, high-​speed Internet access with wifi, & telephones are provided in each accommodation.

Let us pamper you during your stay with services & amenities galore. When you enter your suite, you will find sherry awaiting you to take the edge off your day. Each evening, when you return to your room, you will find clean towels, your bed turned down, fruit, home baked cookies, and chocolates to help lull you to sleep. You can always enjoy a bottle of wine, champagne or cocktail from our restaurant. And, we will provide room service during the hours our restaurant is open.

Our on-​location restaurant, the Peacock Restaurant & Lounge is Easton’s latest culinary hot spot. With our renowned chef, we have created a menu that represents the best of what our country has to offer in classical and contemporary cuisine.

Dedicated to providing personalized service found in a traditional Bed and Breakfast, The Inn at 202 Dover is a historic mansion built in 1874 and an integral part of the historic fabric of Easton, Maryland.

Restoration began in 2005 under the watchful eyes of the owners, Shelby and Ron Mitchell, Historic Easton, Easton’s Historic Commission, the State of Maryland and the Department of Interior, giving this glorious Colonial Revival mansion a second life. Today the Inn boasts four elegant suites and one luxury en suite bedroom, each themed and decorated accordingly.

Ron M. and his wife Shelby have been involved in the hotel industry for many years. With a passion for fine accommodations, the couple began restoring the Maryland Historic Inn with the help of Historic Easton, Easton’s Historic Commission, the State of Maryland, and the Department of the Interior in 2005. Today, they are happy to welcome guests into their historic and luxurious Inn at 202 Dover. I’m literally still sitting in this magical place lingering on my breakfast while I write this review. What a wonderful stay it has been! Not only is the Inn itself gorgeous, but Ron and Shelby, the proprietors, are just lovely. The Inn is very much grounded in its historic roots without being «dusty». It breaths.
As far as breakfast goes, ooooh man.
I thought I had eaten an egg every way till Sunday but Ron showed me I had not. Egg Soufflé was his dish of choice this morning and oh my gosh was it beautiful! Now I will be asking for egg soufflés everywhere I go!
I will definitely be coming back. What an absolute gem this place is!

It is difficult to find the right words to describe The Inn at 202 Dover. Beautiful, gracious, and delightful only hint at the wonderful experiences we’ve had as Ron and Shelby’s guests. The rooms, the food, and most importantly, the people, make this a one-​of-​a-​kind establishment. You must, absolutely must, treat yourself to the inn. You will be so glad you did! This place is unforgettable, and I can hardly wait to return in May! Thank you so much, Ron and Shelby!

We came here for my Birthday Dinner. The appetizers and dinner were fabulous. The waitress was great. Ron the owner came out several times to talk with us. It was such a classy place. We will be going back soon

It was that good, from arrival to departure, Innkeepers Ron and Shelby made sure our visit was one-​of-​a kind!
I arrived with my business partner as we were driving back from Ocean City and we decided to stay the night, what a great decision.
We arrived around 5pm and were greeted at the door by Ron and he welcomed us and told us our rooms were ready. I was in the Safari Suite which I was told was inspired by Teddy Roosevelt it had a wonderful masculine vibe and was cozy as could be. My COO was placed in the Asian suite next door to me and it also was tastefully decorated and beautifully appointed. I made a cup of coffee, turned on the fireplace, setup my laptop and turned on the TV in the living room portion of this massive suite.
We made a 6:30 dinner reservation at the Peacock which is the Inns restaurant and dinner was a delight. Robert our server was polished and on point and our Filets were out of this world, we spoke with Doug the Chef and he knew his stuff. Ron and Shelby joined us for light conversation and we learned about the Inns history and a bit about Easton. Seated next to us was Beyonces stylist who we had a joy talking to.
After dinner we had drinks in the library and eventually retired to bed. I fired up the steam shower and by then my room was toasty from the fireplace.
The next morning we had breakfast which was also outstanding, Sharon, our server, was also just as polished and another outstanding meal was devoured. Before leaving I roamed around the massive mansion looking at all the unique and ornate pieces, what a treat.
We were certainly sad to leave but I made a promise to return in early April with the wives so that they can fall in love with this delightful Inn and meet our new friends Ron and Shelby!

We came by on a Monday night, very quiet and we were looking forward to our meal planning on a very nice one.
Service was not great, no one to seat us initiallly, after we were seated our waitress (who had two tables, only 4 people in the restaurant) stood around chatting with the other table while we waited to be given a menu or served drinks.
We were seated immediately adjacent to another couple in the empty restaurant, despite their advertised romantic atmosphere and their knowledge that it was the first night of our honeymoon.
Ordered Manhattans to start which were made perfectly, one of the best I’ve had.
Waitress attempted to serve us the other tables dessert before even serving us drinks (again, 2 tables in the restaurant).
Fois Gras and squab for appetizer, small portion but very very good.
Ordered gazpacho as well, which was good, but tasted different, we asked the chef about it later and it turns out the vinegar had started to go bad (only slightly) chef immediately removed it from out bill and apologized which was great, we didn’t even realize something was wrong.
Duck and filet for entrees were AMAZING. One of the best filets I’ve ever had and the duck was excellent as well (this is what prompted us to ask to speak to the chef, we wanted to thank him for doing such an excellent job.
Bread pudding for dessert, also INCREDIBLE.
Overall I would have loved to give this restaurant 4 or 5 stars, we went out looking for a top notch meal and the food itself was well into that category, but with a nearly $ 200 meal for two, not including wine I know to expect a good bit more in terms of service. Hopefully they can work on the service problems, because everything else was worthy of the praises of a top quality restaurant.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal at this elegant Easton, MD inn last weekend. The attentive service and beautifully understated and comfortable dining room combined with creative, expertly prepared dishes to make for a memorable evening. Even with a rather small menu, it was hard to select from among the mouth-​watering starters. The cantaloupe gazpacho won, and was I ever glad I chose it. Cool and late summery in flavor, it was also a sight to behold; a pale orange pool of melon with lump crabmeat surrounding a floating island of tomato sorbet, all flecked with the freshest green herbs. I’m not one to whip out my cellphone for picture-​taking at restaurants, but almost wish I had for this beautiful and delicious soup. The entrees were wonderful as well, and I certainly appreciated the chef’s restrained hand in serving my rare filet exactly to order.
I must also mention our server’s great answer to my question about the art deco water-​filled glass urn stationed nearby. He brought it to our table along with a silver absinthe spoon and demonstrated the various ways of serving Pernod. What a fun treat, even without drinking the absinthe!
We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others and wish the Inn at 202 Dover success in its quest for a Michelin rating, which it most certainly deserves.

At the Inn at 202 Dover in the charming town of Easton, you can stay in an Asian-​themed suite with paper fans and watercolors, or an African suite that’s all dark wood, lions and musk, or an English suite exploding with Victorian flowers. Every room has an astonishing level of detail and real heirlooms — the decorator was truly obsessed. We stayed in the French suite, powder blue with white trim, with an armoire, art nouveau lamps, gleaming puti sink faucets, and an antique hand-​mirror set that must have been used 150 years ago by some mademoiselle. And a jacuzzi and steam-​bath shower. And complementary sherry.
Drift through the rest of this mansion and you’ll find a library where you can sip scotch and play scrabble on a deluxe rotating set, and a music room where you can sit at a brand-​new Kawai baby grand piano, or on a chair made from an old cello. Everywhere you’ll see miniature dioramas on display — Shelby (the proprietor) spent hundreds of hours putting her love into crafting these boxes.
Dinner (the restaurant is called the Peacock Restaurant & Lounge) was spectacular — a delicate crab cake, and a lobster special, tender and lemony. For breakfast, Shelby’s husband Ron prepares it himself — he’s got some mad talent, whether it’s making pancakes with strawberries and bananas, or a lighter-​than-​air crab and spinach omelette.
Ron and Shelby are big-​city professional folks — she was a partner in a law firm and he was an economics professor and before that a real Mad Man on Madison Avenue in the 60’s — who took this 10,000-sf mansion that was dilapidated, made it over top to bottom, and retired into the top floor of their dream house. And they were born to host. Ever gracious, they love to chat with their guests about anything. Ron will go on at length about how proud he is of his chef. Or get him talking about his boyhood days in Brooklyn when the Dodgers let him spend the summer sitting in the dugout.
This big yellow house is just down the street from the Avalon Theatre, and you can be sure that the top headliners have stayed at the Inn, though Ron refuses to divulge names. If you’re prepared to splurge on a luxury weekend, how can there be any other choice? We couldn’t imagine a rock star or king wanting for anything here.
If you’re looking for a place that will pamper you in elegance and charm and feed you world-​class fare, you can go west to the Inn at Little Washington, or east to the Inn at 202 Dover. It’s just as far, and just as good.
We have promised to return and we will.

Be prepared to leave the Inn at 202 Dover hungry and with a much lighter wallet. The food was good, but three scallops as an entrée were not sufficient to satisfy our evening appetite. One could regard the hefty bill as a donation to the beautifully restored building, but we will not return as there are many other, better options in the neighborhood for satisfying dining.

My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and absolutely loved it! The Inn is stunning and impeccably decorated. The owner Ron greeted us just as we walked in and brought us to our room. Our suite (the Safari Suite) was spacious with a king bed, fireplace, sitting room with desk and tv, and large bathroom with both a steam shower and jacuzzi tub. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. All of our meals were delicious and the owners graciously accommodated our special diets. We did the vodka tasting while at the Inn which was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. The owner helped suggest restaurants and activities during the day. Easton itself was a lovely town and easily walkable. I would recommend the Inn to anyone looking for a high-​quality luxury experience. We felt like everything was ‘the best’ from the dining, décor, and service… down to the pillows!

We checked in on 1÷31÷14 for a 2 night stay at the Inn. This Inn was on my «wish list» of Bed and Breakfasts that I would like to stay and when I saw the Living Social email offering 2 nights stays I jumped on it. We stayed in the Safari Suite and sweet it was. Sometimes themed rooms are a bit over the top — BUT not there. The room was stunning and I have been to many B&Bs in the Atlantic coast region in the last few years and I choose my descriptions very carefully. The attention to details was amazing. You have to check out the door hinges (unbelievable). The bathroom is huge with a bubbler tub and steam shower. The large bedroom had a gas fireplace and a very comfortable mattress. It had a sitting room with a desk and chair and large couch to watch the TV which was hidden in the built-​ins but who had time for TV when there are so many wonder things to do and places to see in Easton. Our hosts, Shelby and Ron were gracious and informative. The Inn is in walking distance of the town center and we never drove our car while there. We loved our stay.

My husband and I were originally planning to go to NYC for the weekend but the combination of work, kids, stress and travel made that impossible. So we went to the Inn at 202 Dover instead and quite honestly it was the best decision we’ve made in a very long time.
Here are a few reasons why.
Service: Friendly yet professional. The inn owner greeted us warmly, gave us a quick tour, and showed us to our room. He made us feel welcome and at home without that creepy, «I’m watching you» feeling you might get at other B&Bs.
Room: A-​ma-​zing. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw the inn’s Web site (a «safari» themed suite usually reeks of 70s porn and/​or those side-​of-​the-​highway «romance» motels) but the quality of everything — from the gosh-​darn-​awesome mattress to the heavy, soft sheets to the hardwood furniture takes any cheese out of the equation. Plus, every room is a suite and includes a nicely decorated sitting area, bedroom and bathroom that’s easily the size of my kitchen at home. Sigh.
Décor: This isn’t grandma’s Victorian B&B. It’s classy. Sure, there’s flowered wallpaper, and flowered upholstery and even Hummel figurines, but somehow, it all works together and exudes comfortable sophistication. It might be because it’s very obvious that the antiques are real and of a very high quality. Even my minimalist husband loved hanging out on the chintz chair in the front lounge.
Restaurant: Go there. It’s a bit expensive but worth it. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in the past few years. I had the lobster (shelled, thank god) and my husband had the filet and we were both really impressed with the flavor, presentation and friendly yet professional service. If you’re on a budget, there are good wines by the glass and a great selection of appetizers. (Oh, and they do have bottled beers — my husband wanted to gulp down a Heineken after crazy traffic on the bay bridge.)
Atmosphere: Perfect for the busy couple looking for a place to breathe and relax. The suites are spacious and very clean and comfortable and the common areas are inviting and relaxing, too. I could move here. Seriously, I could.
All in all, I’d recommend this place 100 times over. Great for a special occasion destination or just a quick weekend getaway from stressful day-​to-​day life.

This place is fantastic! The suites are absolutely gorgeous and the bathrooms are luxurious. The décor could not be any more beautiful. The breakfast was divine– eggs served in shells in a silver platters, delicious home made biscuits and pastries by the owner, Ron– who is a total sweetheart and knows everyone on town. The perfect mix of luxe and hospitality. This is the must stay place in Easton! A real GEM.

My wife and I checked into 202 Dover Inn for our anniversary. This place is simply wonderful. The proprietors are a nice couple who take attention to detail to heart. This B&B hosts lots of nice furniture and collectables. The owners make miniature dolls houses, which they proudly put on display.
The rooms themselves are very spacious and comfortable. The bed in the English suite is heaven. We really enjoyed the jet bath tub, steam shower and multi head shower faucets.
Coffee is plentiful and free all day, the Internet works, and the owners are happy to chat with you if you take some time.
The peacock restaurant is exquisite. The owner cooks breakfast in the morning, and is rich in good food (poached pear, frittata, bottomless bread and muffins).
In the evening the peacock hosts a chief and team, who cook the most wonderful menu. We had prime fillet and lobster dishes. The starters were tasty, main dishes succulent, wine selection large, and service top notch. The other reviews for this B&B and restaurant are not wrong.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn this past weekend as a get-​away. It was absolutely wonderful! My expectations were for a little peace and quiet. We definitely got that and more. When we arrived on Friday night, we did the vodka tasting. I don’t normally drink vodka, but the tasting taught me a lot. It even taught me that I like vodka. The highlight of our trip was the food. From breakfast each morning to the 3-​course dinner on Saturday night… the food was spectacular. I think we ate every bite. We would highly recommend the Inn at 202 and the restaurant. Service was great… definitely attentive but not pushy. Just the way it should be. A perfect weekend!

I want to make clear at the outset that this is a review of the B&B, not of the restaurant. Jason L.‘s review should have been listed under the «Peacock Restaurant and Lounge» which is the actual name of the restaurant.
So how did the Frogette and I end up in Easton MD at the Inn at 202 Dover? Well… thank Living Social. My spouse decided we needed a weekend away, the Inn was offering a great 2-​night package deal that included our suite, dinner, and a vodka tasting. The place looked charming, and so we went…
Let me start by saying that the Inn at 202 Dover is every bit as charming as it looks online. Though the décor isn’t exactly my taste, the owners have done an outstanding job with everything from the furnishings to the fixtures. The level of renovation on a 19th century house that had definitely seen better times, is stunning. The suites are huge, luxurious, and very comfortable.
The food, not only what we had for dinner (a separate review) but also our breakfasts, is delicious and prepared by the owner himself. And finally, the vodka tasting was informative and a special treat for a vodka lover such as myself.
All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back.

Initially, the experience started off quite well. We were warmly greeted by the owner and shown to our table. Prompt service at the start, followed by a bottle of champagne we ordered that was served warm and sat in an ice bath for a long time before we could really enjoy it. The food was amazing by the wait time between courses, forgotten about by our server, was disheartening. The owners had to fill our water, even provide bread that was never offered to us, but other tables around us. Excellent place to eat once the staff is able to handle more than a few tables at a time.
