The Veterinary Medical Center in Easton, MD offers an extensive range of excellent quality medical, diagnostic, surgical, wellness and preventative health care to the small and large animals in the Mid-​Delmarva region.

As a private veterinary practice, we will provide personal care to you and your special companion animal in a compassionate, friendly atmosphere. We are strong promoters of preventative veterinary care and encourage a proactive approach to keeping your animal healthy through annual wellness exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, and, for horses, our Equine Wellness Program. Should your pet experience an illness, our team of doctors are able to diagnose and treat most animal health conditions.

We offer a level of unmatched veterinary expertise.

Our doctors are on call for our established clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your animal has suffered a serious injury or life-​threatening event, please call us immediately.

Our hospital is a Veterinary Economics hospital award design winner. Our new facility allows us to treat both small animals and large animals in a safe, clean, state of the art environment. Our facility was designed to provide optimum comfort for you and your animal, reducing the stress on your animal in visiting our facility.

Veterinary Medical Center is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association («AAHA»). AAHA accredited hospitals are evaluated on 900 standards. The standards developed and published by AAHA are widely accepted as those components of veterinary practice that represent high quality care.

Meet the Business Owner

Dr. Elizabeth Callahan and Dr. Dean Tyson D.

Business Owner

Dr. Callahan Dr. Callahan is (almost) a native of the Eastern Shore. She grew up here in Easton, graduated from Easton High and the University of Pennsylvania and received her DVM from the Virginia — Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. She joined VMC that year and has practiced here since that time. She became board certified in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Equine Specialty in 2000 and recertified again in 2010. She also became board certified in the American College of Theriogenologists, mixed animal specialty, in 2012. Her practice interests include reproduction in all species, equine nutrition, and acupuncture.

Dr. Tyson grew up on a dairy farm in northeastern Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland at College Park for undergraduate studies and graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He enjoys the challenges and rewards of veterinary practice and has a special interest in surgery.
