Established in 2011.

I am also very fortunate to have parents that documented every step of my life from when I was born until I was old enough to capture my own memories on camera. I was able to look back at the stacks of photo albums and reminisce about my childhood that I may have forgotten over the years. It is the same reason why I am a wedding photographer. I love people, I love to laugh and I love pictures that bring back memories. I live to document life, emotions, true love and your personality as it happens. You may even find me crying behind the camera because I care and I am that invested in your story.

I am Benny Chiu and I am the B & C in BYC Photography, LLC. So what’s Y?

Y is for Yvonne, the woman who I love and married. The sole reason why you are reading this is because she believed in me and my love for photography.

I have been into photography since I was a little kid and I was always the one in my group of friends/​family to capture all the memories. I finally decided to follow my dream and become the photographer that captures your wedding day or event as it happens so that when you look back the photos later on, you’re on a journey down memory lane.

This review is for you people who are leery of photographers, I know was. I had a terrible experience with a wedding photographer and since then have argued with my wife whenever she wanted to hire someone to shoot anything. After all, a wedding is one of the most important shoots of ones life.
Having said that, my wife was able to talk me into using Benny for our maternity shoot. Another very important moment in life. I am so happy I went along with this. Benny is everything you look for in a photographer and a person. He is warm, caring, trustworthy and extremely talented. His sense is incredible and his taste is impeccable.
I, along with my wife, am so happy to have found Benny. My wife gets all the credit for this one. We will certainly be using him again and would absolutely recommend him to anyone for any occasion.

First of all, Benny took the time to make it work and make it happen when others failed us big time. My child is beautiful, cognitively normal but disabled and in a wheelchair. Every time we have gone to get studio portraits the photographer has wanted her to sit on her own, to stand and pose for their able person imagery but not only cannot capture her inner beauty, they cannot capture her outer beauty. Trying to force a disability into a short time slot in a studio has never worked for my family.
Benny took time to make it work: he pre-​scouted locations specifically with wheelchair access in mind. He preplanned shots in such a way as to celebrate my child instead of making her disability a burden, hurdle or problem. Changing up positions and moving around kept my child from being bored at all and Benny was able to get a lot of quality shots in a short amount of time, which is best with a 3 year old!
All around great experience. Will be scheduling at least one family shoot a year.

This was our first session with Benny and I have to say it will not be our last! Given how big our extended family is, we always have a bit of chaos when it comes time to family photos. With the family or 15 (coming in mostly from Arizona) in conjunction to being the day before Thanksgiving, he and I had discussed what the potential concerns were for the session and what my absolute «must» for picture combinations were.
He contacted me prior to the session and was really helpful in suggesting the best location to fit all of our different families as well as offer clothing color suggestions. With as many kids as there were in our session I have to say then he over delivered on anything I could’ve imagined, he was beyond patient, helpful, and very funny to say the least.
All the kids had a great time and were really able to open up to to him and he was able to capture some awesome moments for us to cherish forever. I will definitely plan to use him the next time we have our crazy family together again and can’t thank him enough for such great memories to hold close forever.

Heard about BYC Photography from a friend via Facebook. The pictures that I saw were pretty good. So we decided to book a newborn photoshoot with Benny at Schabarum Park in Rowland Heights 2 weeks ago. Benny did an amazing job. Even though my little girl was a bit fussy, he was able to work around it and got some amazing shots. He was very professional, good communicator and the turn around time was very fast. I would definitely go back to him with my other family portraits and will recommend him to my friends.

After a disappointing photo session at the mall, I decided to look for a qualified photographer who had also worked with kids before. At first I was a bit hesitant because I’ve never hired a photographer from the Internet. What really gave me confidence was that BYC photography responded to my email the same day. Benny was not only very professional in answering my questions, but also understood the difficulty of photography children. On our initial scheduled appointment my eldest child got sick, and Benny suggested to reschedule. This was really wonderful, because I wanted to make sure my kids would be comfortable and be themselves during a photoshop, and not feeling sick.
The day of shooting went really well, the suggested time and location was very suitable. The photographs were done in a reasonable time, and the results are just simply beautiful. It depicts exactly what I wanted: my kids, celebrating sisterhood & family. I hope my husband will love our gift!

This was our first session with BYC Photography and my husband and I are very happy with the photos Benny took! We wanted to take maternity photos to commemorate our first baby and are happy we made the right choice! Benny made it a fun and relaxing session which made all the difference. Benny photographed my family last fall and three portraits are now prominently displayed on my walls. We love them! The main thing about Benny is that he’s super easy going and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you love your portraits. He makes sure to get a variety of shots so you have more to choose from. I have two girls who are easy but he made them laugh and enjoy their time together. In the end, his candid shots of my girls are some of my favorites! I would highly recommend BYC Photography!

We had a great time having Benny as our wedding photographer. He was able to capture our different personalities in really creative and fun ways for both our engagement shoot and wedding day. We especially appreciated that he was so accommodating in terms of budget and scheduling and that he made constant adjustments to his schedule to make sure we got everything we wanted and more. He put in extra time and worked with our other vendors and planner to make sure he got a good picture of every single detail/​moment. With only two to three weeks close to our wedding day, my husband and I were able to hear back from Benny from BYC Photography immediately. We really admired how he was interested in getting to know us as a couple and any wedding inspirations we would like him to know about. He was also able to work with our budget and this was a big plus! On the day of our wedding, Benny was very easy going and he made sure that he met our needs. Working around him definitely made us feel relaxed and comfortable too. A month later, we got to view all our photos and I was completely blown away with the quality and style… it was exactly what we wanted but more!
