The owner, Russ, was late for the appointment for the estimate. He entered the house to starting to conduct the estimate with no apology for being late. This should have been an indication to me on how he does business.
He gave an estimate of $ 2,200 — $ 2,400.
They were a day late on starting the project.
Two hours late on the new established day to start project.
They completely skipped finishing the project on the next consecutive day, as promised.
Day three, they were two hours late again.
Russ excused his inability to meet commitments by another project that was more urgent. When the timeline continued to slip the communication was poor. We had to initiate contact to understand why they continued to be late. I would expect a service provider to call me, if they can’t meet an appointment.
We got an invoice for $ 2,458. Russ offered no explanation on his inability to meet his initial estimate. When I asked him why he wasn’t able to keep it within budget, he explained that was just a verbal estimate.
I have never needed a similar service, but there has to be much better options to receive good service in the Chippewa Valley.
