My husband and I tried Log Cabin the second week it was open. I really wanted to like it. Years with a «opening soon» sign up and it finally opened. We were excited and hoped it would be our new spot. The women behind the counter were so nice and grateful for our business. I really wanted to like it… –sigh– Ribs were chewy, cornbread inedible, Mac n cheese tasted like noodles tossed in pepper, greens were… we won’t even go there. The fried chicken was good though, tasted just like KFC… ahem. This was the first time we didn’t finish a «soul food» meal. I still want to like it. I hope those see ladies taste their food and have a big realization. I hope it turns around and succeeds. I’m so disappointed.

I want so bad for there to be a great BBQ spot downriver. I really don’t think most of downriver knows what good BBQ is. Yea you have roundhouse and you did have RealBBQ(only great for opening month) etc. but there really isn’t any great BBQ around here. Anyway this spot was ok. I almost gave it 2 stars but I have to go back and try the chicken. We ordered one chicken BBQ plate and one BBQ rib plate to go. We get back to the spot to try it and she messed up and put two BBQ. I called and she offered a free chicken BBQ plate when I come back. The meat was somewhat tender but you could tell they made a lot and let it sit a long time. you could tell it was probably great a few hours earlier. They use the southeastern style vinegar based bbq sauce. A lot of flavor. I like that style. The greens were excellent in my opinion and The cornbread was the absolute worst dry non flavor cornbread I ever had. I was really disappointed in that. I’ve done a lot of traveling and I have found that the best BBQ spots are located in the hood so I was amped to try this. I am going to give them one more shot to try the BBQ chicken and cornbread and go from there. Ps this is only a carry out spot.
