Chris is awesome, I’m a realtor and when I have clients north of Edison, He is the ONLY inspector I would recommend to clients. He has found things that any other inspector has or would miss. He protects my clients interests NOT MINE. I’m not sure what Leslie G. is referring to but Chris has gone above and beyond during the dozen or so inspections he has done. For instance, He had caught a structural problem only because he went under a tiny crawl space which was smaller then normal and small a hairline fracture of a support beam for the foyer which was a platform in an apartment. Most inspectors would not have even bothered to check it. Chris has inspected $ 200,000 condos to $ 650,000 homes. He is the best around.

Chris Burrows recently did the inspection for a condo I am purchasing. He made sure I got the appointment I needed and was friendly, efficient and treated my purchase as if it was his own. He walked me through each step of the inspection and explained the issues in detail, as well as took pictures and detailed notes for the report.
I cannot imagine anyone being able to do a better job than he did. I will definitely be recommending him to my friends and family members!

Buyer Beware — Chris missed some very costly issues during our home inspection. Who cares if he is on time if he fails to do the job he was hired to do. Missed a major plumbing issue, toilet issues, leaking sink etc… Go somewhere else and save yourself money and aggravation.

Chris is a consummate professional and expert of his industry. I was referred to a different inspector by the Listing Agent of the property i was purchasing, but i did not trust them, so called Chris based on his very positive reviews on Unilocal and AngiesList
He arrived early for our appointment and was one of the nicer guys i’ve ever met in the industry and i’ve met a lot of inspectors in my prior work experience — I used to work in Real Estate in the Boston area, and while I’ve been living in Hoboken for almost 2 years as a renter, the type of buildings and difference in the Boston & Hoboken market is extremely different. He was by far the best i’ve had the pleasure of working with !
He was extremely knowledgeable and was VERY thorough and detail-​oriented — which is exactly the type of person you need for this service. He took the time to really show me exactly what he saw, the reason why it was a concern, he was very patient and I could tell he took a lot a pride in his work and wanted his customers to REALLY know exactly the potential risks of a property and his advise on the type of fixes that would be needed. Many inspectors just do a superficial check, check their boxes, and ask for their payment… you can tell in just minutes through the inspection that he really is an advocate for a Home Buyer and wants them to come into the purchase with eyes wide open. He took many pictures, made copious notes, he really turned over every stone he could and made sure that i understood each and every red flag he noticed. He even gave me a few pointers and a crash-​course on what to look out for as a home owner when it comes to maintenance of the property — definately took the time to show me ‘what to look out for’ and was a pretty valuable learning experience actually
You can tell he is very committed to his customers, his official report was SUPER detailed, complete with pictures, arrows in the things in the pictures, detailed notes about the visuals — and complete with recommendations and types of contractors to potentially call in the future in reference to those problems.
I couldn’t have been impressed more — and most importantly: Chris is a real stand-​up, honest, genuine and hard working guy. Which is a real rarity in this industry.
The other 5 star reviews are very accurate — if you need any home inspection services at all in the NJ/​NY area, i would HIGHLY recommend Chris and CM Burrows Inc and especially in the Hoboken/​Edgewater and other areas of Hudson County — you can’t go wrong

Chris of CM Burrows was recommended by my real estate agent as inspector in my condo purchase in Hoboken. This is the 3^rd Inspection I have been a part of (both others in NYC) so I had somewhat of an idea what to expect — Chris completely exceeded all expectations!
Chris arrived to our appointment on time (earlier than me!), was extremely personable and friendly. He put me at ease as he thoroughly went through each room in the apartment and patiently walked me through his findings. Not only did he give me an idea of what was the current state, he also gave many tips on areas of maintenance that I could do in the future to maintain value and running a smooth home. Moving to Hoboken from the city, that was greatly appreciated as I’ve never owned my own washer/​dryer or garbage disposal before!
Chris sent the complete, thorough inspection report in less than 24 hours and I was extremely happy with the result. I would recommend him to anybody who is buying a home.

We used Chris at CM Burrows to perform a condo inspection in Hoboken, NJ. This was the second condo we had an inspection for, in our attempt to purchase a condo in Hoboken. The first inspector was fine, but did not seem thorough enough, and unfortunately did not provide a final inspection report with photos, so we opted to try someone else on the second condo. Chris was the perfect choice. He was professional, extremely thorough, and talked us through each and every part of the inspection process. As first time home buyers, we wanted to understand everything, to be sure we were making a sound investment. Chris delivered on that, showing us issues that were easy to fix, things that would likely take an expert, and he also gave us tips on how to maintain things like the HVAC. I knew I made a good decision in choosing Chris when he told me that he did not put a time limit on the inspection, and typically only scheduled 1 per day, to ensure he had adequate time to thoroughly inspect the property. Our last experience was not this way, and the inspector seemed in a rush to get to his next job, so Chris is definitely a good choice if you are worried about a rush job. The final inspection report Chris provided was long, explaining everything with photos. I didn’t realize how helpful it is to have photos until we received the report. This really helped in our negotiation process with the seller, as we could show visuals of the issues that were identified. If you are in the market for a home inspection or condo inspection, call Chris. I would recommend him to anyone and would use him again in the future (although I hope we stay in our new condo for awhile :-))
